Hey guys, i searched but couldnt find anything, what all do i need if anythign to swap on a 16G onto a 1G awd? I have the turbo, i kno it bolts up but do i need anythign extra?
 
You do not need anything. It is a direct replacement. Did you search really good? There is 10,484,949,098 threads on this subject. Good luck with it.
 
As long as you don't have an auto with the smaller 13g which has a different manifold, it should be a direct swap. Be careful with the water lines, they can be fragile if they are old and rusted. Good luck.
 
Thanks guys, i dont have the 16G o2 houseing will a 14b one work thats on it now?
 
I don't think there's anything like a "14b O2 housing" but yes, the 16g will work with the stocker.

When he says 14B O2 housing he is talking about the stocker. If you searched this then you would see that for 1Gs FWD or AWD it is a direct replacement, but 2Gs need a kit for it to work.
 
You mean 2G O2 housings won't bolt up to the 16G (which isn't true)? I can't really get your point.

That depends a whole lot on how much boost you're running. It would probably be a good idea.

You could run it "as-is" but you'd have to keep the boost down. If you dont have a logger make sure you get one ASAP.

Yea im gettin those tomm, jus went ahead an took off the 14b to get ready to put the 16G on there. brand new 16G for 100 bucks isnt bad at all LOL. Anotehr question, do i need a gasket for where the oil line goes to the turbo? it didnt have one on the 14b.
 
16G = 550's injectors, 190LPH Walbro Fuel pump, SAFC at least (15 psi and up).

14B = stock (Boost up to 16 psi past that you need a fuel pump).

The 16g is a DIRECT bolt on for the 1G DSM's. You take out your old turbo and install the 16g in its place. Thats how simple it is.


If the gasket wasn't on the 14B, than it won't be on the 16g. They both are TDo5's and are basically the samething other than compressor size, exhaust size wheels.
 
Does anyone have a pic of the whole where the oil line goes on the turbo, the line from the head to the top of the turbo, i need a pic of the whoel on the 16G becasue it kinda looks like a bolt is broke off in my 16G but i cant tell. Can anyone get a up close pic of the hole so i can see what it looks like, becasue the bolt isnt wantin to thread in there.
