I'm not looking for bling, or anything real flashy, more performance over anything, and I am looking for a nicely priced set of 16" lightweight wheels that will accomodate wider tires.
Anyone have any pointers as to where to find a good price on wheels like this?
Or suggestions as to what kind of wheel to get?

rx7 rims. they are 225/50/16s and you could toss one up in the air with 2 fingers. They're kinda hard to find, but I think they're worth looking for. I forgot which year they came off of. hopefully someone could clear that up.

By the time you're done swapping in the longer lugs and getting the required spacers, RX7 wheels aren't as cheap and easy as some people make out. It's the +50 offset that causes the grief. Add in that they are only 16x8 and you reach my suggestion.

I was looking on tirerack, and it doesn't show any listings for a 16X8.5 for my talon.
I do kinda like the way the sport edition d4's look, and they don't seem that heavy at 17 lbs.
They are only 7 inches wide tho.

3000gt 16x8, you can pick up a whole set cheap as hell, however they arent nearly as light as koseis. If weight is a big issue then go with the koseis, however if your looking for a cheap 16x8 direct bolt on, the 3000gt sl wheels will work. I even have a set for sale LOL.

Tirerack doesn't allow you to search by wheel size and their search by vehicle is ultra-conservative. You will need to call them.

Yep. Even worse: when you call Tirerack, they'll probably tell you that the 16x8.5 +37 K1 won't fit, because that's what their silly database tells them. This is one reason to ask for Luke, for example, since Luke autocrosses and knows a bit more than the database.

Wouldn't a 40 offset be better for the tire to tuck in at the rear? Or is 37 what is available in the Kosei ?

Sweet, thanks, Hopefully these wheels can take a pothole or two, as I live near the pothole central of PA. AKA Philadelphia.

Gotta 'nother question, for a DD, the 16's will be better, but how about for track use?
Are 17's the hot ticket to big traction at the track? (along with appropriate tires of course)

You might want to tell us whether the track in question is a straight line, curvy, or marked with orange cones. In other words, are you looking for longitudinal grip or lateral grip? The answer depends on this.

Tottally forgot about this thread, but i am looking for a combination of straight and marked with cones....Opposite ends of the racing spectrum, but I am building a balanced car, not an all out drag queen.
