Alright, so originally posted this build in the "street" portion. But this car will really be an all around car, Handling, Straight Line, And yes a Daily Driven Street car. The car started out as a roller that had been sitting in a poll barn for 10 years after it dropped a valve. Its very clean and I plan to keep it that way. Obviously the main focus to achieve this record needs to be suspension and weight reduction. I will NOT be doing any Cutting or hacking on this car. I will instead be building some lighter and stronger parts for certain areas. It should be no issue for me to see 2800lbs with me in the car. Right now my focus is on Dropping weight and stiffening the chassis up to help my 60ft times that need to be 1.5s or lower.

I would like to thank some amazing people who are making this all possible for me! Drew Jones, Race Components Inc, Red Jack Racing and BBFab. None of this would be possible without you!

Good luck, Cory! You've got our full support and best wishes!

I'm looking forward to making the trip out to where you are at some point this year with Drew when the car is done. From what I've seen thus far, it looks amazing!

The car is officially 100% gutted. Time to start getting as much weight as possible out of it. So far I have put my girlfriend to work on stripping out the wheel wells and underbody while I work inside the car. Here are some progress pictures.

Watch out looks like Phil has some competition. Looks good so far.

Woof, its been a long few days. Long story short the seam sealer just keeps coming out and the weight keeps dropping. I am hoping to have the under body and all seams sand blasted within the next few days so I can start doing the welding. Still cant believe the weight that is coming out. The harnesses are not even done yet and are insanely light!

Its Official, The shell is now as light as it can possibly be without cutting metal. Which is not happening. I have began the stages of stitch welding and only have the underbody and engine bay to finish up then its ready for sand blasting and paint soon after!

Well it seems as there is no interest in this build. But I figured I would update it anyways because its been quite some time. Tons of progress being made, and as usual I will let the pictures talk!

subscribed man that is balls out down to bare nothing i wish i could have that paintjob good work man how much weight did you measure you got out of the car so far?

Im glad everybody likes it! Trying to get some of my work out there for people to see what I am capable of, The compliments mean the world to me so thank you! The car did hit the ground tonight, though the alignment is way off but that was to be expected. I also started fabricating seat mounts for my SSL Recaro's. 1 down 1 to go! I am waiting on some "prototype" gear sets to come in then the rest of it will go together.

Wow, i cant believe i miss this thread! GJ on everything. When are we gona see some more update on the Auto GSX and RWD eclipse? Been following you on FB and waiting for some update.

Love it so far. Going to need more weight reduction though ;)

Someday I hope to find a shell that I'd feel comfortable doing all this too. I've thought about doing it with mine but there is too much rust that would need fixing and I can't see it being worth it. It'd be nice to have a clean chassis like that to work with, then clean EVERYTHING up so much. Good work. Any plans to when we should see this thing make it's first passes?

Plan is to get a few passes in before the snow starts coming down. But I have lots going on in my life right now so we will see. A big move to NY is in store for Late this year. It won't break my heart if I don't get any passes in until next season. I know this was one hell of an under taking on my behalf. But again thanks for the compliments!

As for the people who keep asking about the weight. I have kept track of what's been taken out and kept an entire log of the weights. If my math is correct it should be sitting in the 2500's with 3/4 tank of fuel. And I am happy with that number!
