The short term goal is to get my car up and running for the shootout this year. After a long game of DSM tossup I have finally found a suitable chassis and It is finally being delivered from Ohio (5/20).

Mods:

What I have:
2.3L Stroker:
Eagle rods
Wiseco Pistons .020
OEM 4G64 Crank (This will probably change)

2G Head:
Ported Exhaust/Intake
1mm Oversized supertech valves
dual valve springs
CAMS:
GSC S2 Cams

FIC Bluemax 1450cc Injectors

T.R.E. High Torque Transmission
Frontline Fabe rear diff cover
ECM Link
D2 Coilovers
FuelLab AFPR
VRSF FMIC

*updated
I was able to get my hands on a Frontline Fab 12 Gallon Fuel Cell
It has:
Feed: 2 x -8AN bulkhead (sumped)
Return: -6AN bulkhead
Southbend Kevlar clutch TZ-series
SS-series Pressure Plate

What I need (sigh):

Bosch 044 FP

Mishimoto Radiator
Slim Fans

Freshly rebuilt HX35 w/ .55 BEP housing
Turbosmart wastegate w/ dump tube

Also for all of you that love creating build lists and sharing your mods, I'm working on something special that you'll probably love. I'll leave it at that for now.

I cant believe its finally on the way here. It's been a long time coming.

I've had some major setbacks over the last few months in getting a car and preparing it for the shootout, but if I don't make it this year then it will be one hell of a car by next year. Lets still hope im able to finish it in time :)

Car looks really clean i love the color and wheels! Sounds like you have a fun build on the way! If you dont mind me asking why such a big turbo if your going for 11s? Seems like alot of unnecessary lag for trying to get her in the 11s!

That's a sexy beast right there.

Thanks guys! I'll make sure to keep everyone updated.

I'm shooting for 11's now. I'm just in a time crunch to get it going for the shoot out, so right now ill more than likely be running a smaller turbo (I havent selected am alternative just yet). There is a reason (beyond just wanting to go) that I really need to go this year. I'll shine more light on that in the near future.

Ultimately I would like to reach into the low 10's possibly high 9's. The 6466 should get me to at least the low 10 sec mark. I think i'll stop at there for a while once its done.

And look what I found on a local craigslist ad. This plus 2 x Bosch 044's is my alternative to the full blown double pumper. Honestly, I just really dislike the saddle bad design of the 2g awd, plus this is much more stylish and goes along well with the FF diff cover.

Thanks guys, trying my best to get this thing done.

Unfortunately i just got hit up for a $1500 bill from my attorney and a mediator so purchasing new items just got put on the back burner for a little bit. Who in there right mind charges $300/hr.

Look at what I found on my doorstep when i got home from work.

It was brand new in the box. Picked it up used from a member in a dsm marketplace group on FB for an excellent price.

The VRSF core is fitted to the car (pics coming soon). We ran into a bit of a issue on the day we scheduled to install the engine/trans, apparently I miss-placed the oil pickup screen/tube, so I had to order a new one. Unfortunately my buddy will be at the shootout this weekend, so dropping the engine will have to happen the weekend after next.

Update: Unfortunately I will not be making the shootout as I planned due to unexpected financial obligations. I didn't expect to have a custody battle over my son with his mother. Everything is looking good, and I was awarded temporary custody for the duration of the case, which is a good thing.

I'll be taking my time with this build, so I'll be able to purchase exactly what i want the first time around.

A Buddy of mine helping me out, he suggested a fuse box relocation (to the glove box) and then commenced the relocation. We'll be hiding the engine harness as best as possible as well.

I purchased this battery holder via the tuners classifieds, I wasn't satisfied with the location by which it was meant to bolt to, so I retrofitted it to bolt to different location. Sorry, the car is a bit dusty.

More progress. My buddy Cory was working on the new location for the fuse box, and removing EGR/ABS wiring in the engine bay. I sanded down and polished the intake manifold, then started on the valve cover.

Most of these people will never appreciate how long or how much effort truly goes into polishing the intake manifold. I did the same thing you did, and I know firsthand how long it takes. Looks like you did a great job on it as well. The funniest part is it looks like you started polishing one of the runners like I did before saying f*ck this LOL

I see you ended up using the same motor mounts I did. A pity one of mine was defective, the insert was brittle and it crumbled quickly, but other than that they seem to be of good quality.

What are you using to tune?

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping to get the car together and started in September.

Yeah, this was my first time polishing anything (on of my buddies started me off) so I started on the back of the runner because if i messed up, or did like it then I could just say "screw it". I might polish it a little more, but for now I think most of the unpolished areas wont be visible really.

The avid street motor mounts? I was going to get the Billet version but I wanted them to be anodized black, I couldn't find a vendor that was selling them already anodized so I made an executive decision to buy the street version. It didn't help that at the time I purchased them I thought that I would be dropping the motor in within days of them arriving, I was completely wrong. I'll have to recheck my mounts, they're brand new, and I only got them maybe 1 1/2 months ago so i don't think there's too much concern for cracked inserts.

I have ECMLink V3.

Another update!

Engine is finally in the car, my friend Corey did the turbo rebuild, and made the harness look incredibly nice, we're still tweaking it a bit. I did get around to finishing up the fuel pump rewire to the inline pump, also figured out the fuel tank level/low wires and splicing them into the correct wires on the harness.
