Walked by the car sitting in the garage collecting dust, decided I missed driving it and finally ordered a stupid alternator so I can get it back on the road again. Fingers crossed delivery comes Tuesday as Rock Auto promised so I can have it up and running for a small road trip Wednesday...
Haven't started yet, but the weekend project is to finish up the wet sanding and put the rear end of the car back together. Body work is infuriating.. but I took my time and I'm very happy with the results so far. It'll have to sit in primer for a bit, until I can afford the bloated costs of...
Truckers tend to try and avoid them as the damage caused to the truck is VERY significant. Not to mention the cost of having the truck removed from the ramp by a towing and recovery company, the delay/damage to any cargo on board, and the fines they could potentially face for disregarding...
It goes further down the product line too, not just on the sports end.The Hyundai Palisade/Kia Telluride easily rival all other Mid/Full-Size SUV's in the market. Hell, when the Palisade first launched I considered trading in my GMC Acadia I was so impressed. The Optima/Sonata are huge in...
While I agree wholeheartedly with this sentiment.. Its not going to happen.Have you been in a 2020 Mitsubishi? I have, they're horrible. The drivetrains are underwhelming, the tech is way behind every other manufacturer in the game right now, and the build quality is laughable. They're...
Not going to happen, at least not in the US market. Mitsubishi has turned their attention towards small SUV's and Sub Compact cars. There's a reason they used the eclipse moniker on an SUV, the eclipse as we knew it is gone.
They must have addressed the drawer liner issue already, as the liners that came in the 42" box that I just picked up are (in my opinion) better than the ones in my SnapOn top box.
I second LED bulbs. I went with GE "Daylight" bulbs and it's VERY bright. I also installed a Honeywell LED hanging light over the new section of the workbench, that thing is obnoxiously bright..My next project is to get the 220 outlet downstairs where I need it. I have a couple weeks since...
I'd kill to be able to go back to when my garage was being built so I could make some quality of life changes. The plumbing issue would've been an easy fix, the pipe burst because it wasn't below the frost line. I have a 220v outlet, but it's upstairs in the loft portion. The lighting...
I've got tons of space, but still working on getting everything setup to how I want it. Garage is 3 cars wide and 2 deep with a full loft. Unfortunately it's detached and doesn't have HVAC, but the trade-off is a steel I-beam that runs straight down the center with an engine hoist trolley on...
I just picked up the Harbor Freight 44" lower cab since I outgrew my SnapOn top chest a few years ago and tools have been everywhere in the garage since. The quality on this thing is absurd for the price. First off, the ball bearing slides are a direct copy of the SnapOn design. It's heavy...
Never said it was an excuse for lack of communication. Just wanted to shine some light on what's going on over there based on the communication I was able to get out of them after a 3 week delay on some ARP manifold to turbo bolts.
STM has definitely been dealing with staffing and inventory issues due to COVID. Gotta keep in mind, they're located in NY, the hardest hit state with a governor that would rather sit on CNN with his brother and blame everyone else for the states issues, than to get the state economy back up...
It's not an STM issue, it's an issue with their suppliers that unfortunately rolls downhill. My ARP bolt kit that I had ordered previously did eventually show up, and I did actually get ahold of someone at STM during the delay period. The problem was that everyone was out of stock on the...
Honestly, if you have the option to, go for link. I'm actually in the midst of a remote tune on a black box and just getting everything hooked up and logging properly has been the biggest headache of my entire build.. and considering I'm doing a full GST swap on my 99 eclipse Spyder GS m/t...
You could always coordinate with him and a local shop with a dyno. Remote tune simply means he won't be physically with you, doesn't mean you have to do it on the street. Worth having the conversation with him in my opinion as he knows the software and all of its quirks..
If you're looking for someone to tune your black box, reach out to @dacowgod , you can purchase a remote tune directly from his website www.rixracing.com
Anyone else experiencing major shipping Delays through STM? I ordered an ARP bolt kit for the FP race manifold over a week ago and it still hasn't shipped. I've ordered from them quite a few times, even as recent as 3 weeks ago, and usually things are out the door within a couple days of...
They're nearly impossible to find in good condition.. and they're not being manufactured anymore. Supply is significantly lower than demand so when they're in great overall condition they sell quick and for a large sum.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.. the tops are relatively easy to replace (I did mine a couple months ago, did a full write-up here on tuners for it as well). There's nothing better than cruising around in the summer in a 2G Spyder..
I'm watching this tonight.. just have to wait til the wife goes to bed, she doesn't understand why I love watching Jafro talk his way through everything. He goes overboard with the amount of information in his videos and I LOVE IT!:rocks:
Posted a big update last night. Hopefully helps out some Spyder owners looking at their faded and worn out tops...https://www.dsmtuners.com/dsm-profiles/99-spyder-gs-working-on-the-t.13250/
Done.May not be in the communist state of California, but the representatives we have in this part of PA aren't much better. Waste of space Bob Casey, who hasn't done anything meaningful in the many years he's been in office.. and Susan Wild.. who's currently running ads saying I should thank...
I'm one of those people who hang out on the forums yet avoid Facebook like the plague :D.For all the chatter I see about this car and how great of a driver Adriana is, seeing the 1320 video on it was my first experience and damn was I impressed! @Noliftnoonen you are one hell of a driver...
Hey all. I recently received a job offer that would require a relocation from Northeast PA down to the Fredericksburg area of Virginia. Upon doing some research, it seems that I'm going to have to do some backtracking on some of the mods done to my Spyder (along with adjusting some of the...
I love my 2G Spyder, and even with it's horrible need for body work AND the fact that it's currently fitted with a 4G64 (working on both issues), that thing still turns heads.I constantly get sidetracked by people coming up to me in parking lots asking if I'd be willing to sell it (answer is...
Ever since the new site was launched the OEM section seems a bit light..I usually just email them with any questions I have at [email protected] you could try to pm Josh on here @DSSA .. though email is typically faster.
I have a SiriusXM all access subscription, I also have a Spotify premium subscription, and subscribe to Amazon Prime (still have yet to actually USE their music service though...)I use SXM and Spotify on a regular basis, but to be honest I actually prefer SiriusXM. Some stations can be...
Didn't pay the refs as much as the Patriots did... I really wanted to see a Chiefs/Saints matchup.. the Saints were robbed, and the Chiefs were robbed with a B.S. roughing the passer call..Derby car looks awesome though! I had to do a double take due to the realism :thumb:
Few things to check before you commit to it, especially being in NY. Strut towers, and rear quarter panels inside the wheel wells. If both of those areas are rust free, $1000 is a steal and I'd jump on it immediately.
I don't even have link but I'd donate in hopes they would go for the latter option of full steam ahead on a modern chipset.. it sucks they lost out on that much money :(
