Christi....you have to feel better this year so you can get sideways, fall down, and feel bad.You are supposed to feel bad after the SO, not during or before. :D
I wouldn't call it socializing; more like "Hey Chuck. How's business? Here's another $500" LOLDefinitely. They are just a bunch of average, smack-talking, type "A" rednecks (shhh...don't tell them I said that), but with a lot of money tied up in some incredible machines and the ability to...
I think the shootout flies way too far under the national radar for that to be of much use.Now if they showed up on an episode of Pinks or PassTime... :thumb:
Well... several months ago. :)There was a lot more racing at that meet than what was shown. They focused on the big OKC wins (obviously), but the overall outcome was probably pretty even.
There is another aspect of this show/debate that most people don't realize or can't comprehend (if not from a rural area).I'm not sure if I mentioned it at the SO last year Michael (there was a lot of beer being consumed at the motel 6 LOL), but I lived in Dallas for 3 years and worked in...
Nobody takes that seriously, at least around here. None of those guys seriously believe they have the fastest car in the country. OKC? The state maybe? Sure...they all want to at least believe that. But they and most everyone else is fully aware that the show's tag line is just that; a tag...
They aren't controlled at all (at least some of them); just people being stupid and irresponsible. You see a rear view of a truck that looks like the farm truck with no identifiable plates, apparently racing on a city street months ago. It was a real camera shot, by either the show's producers...
As everyone that doesn't live here and know these guys loves to point out, it's "just a TV show". Any video of supposed illegal acts is meaningless.Oklahoma law?If a cop shows up and there is a street legal car just sitting there on the side of the road or in a trailer, what's the problem...
No doubt TX has it's share of fast cars, but in all fairness Michael, there is more than one big payoff challenge for out-of-state racers to come here and beat the murder nova, that nobody has accepted in years (as far as I know). The problem is that none of these OKC guys (or the ones in TX...
They are set up for 1/8 mile, so it doesn't translate very well. I imagine the faster ones could easily run consistent 7's if they set up for it.EDIT:Here is a Murder Nova 1/4 mile run from 2008 that was in the low 8's, when he wasn't nearly as fast as he is now...
Found the (crappy cell phone) video.http://www.jcsautomation.com/temp/video0092.mp4I parked for two races until the farm truck could move up, and before he could get over into the left lane for our run, the guy in the "bad ass" (his own words in the pits) Camaro hurried past the farm truck...
I've run into a couple of them at local drags and stuff and talked cars for a bit, but don't really "know" them.... but I've known Chuck for years. He has WAY too much of my money for fixing family cars (Hondas) that I'm not interested in working on. :)I told him that for all the money I've...
According to a lot of people (especially on FB), it wasn't you. Just some actors dressed up to look like people in a fast DSM.:DNot to mention keeping it pointed straight and not let your head exit your ass at 150mph.
Doc or Dave could pretty much just start their car and outrun him. Eric still has nicer injectors though. LOLThe 6000 whp isn't just a random number BTW. Those 4 guys ^ alone are making somewhere around that, if not more. They tune by dialing out 100's of hp.
LOL Well put.But yeah... I don't see anyone getting arrested any time soon for something seen in a TV show. If a cop did have a hair up his ass for one of the guys in the show and tried to arrest him for one of the non-sanctioned street scenes, can you imagine the shit he would have to...
But again....they didn't arrest her because of the video or anything in it. They arrested her because the video allowed them to identify an accused felon (someone they were already searching for) with corroborating evidence."...and the outfit matches the clothes worn by the female bank robber...
I'm not saying that at all. I'm not an attorney; I don't even play one on TV. :)This is just my opinion based on what the guys have told me and what I know from personal experience. Take it for what it's worth.I think there is a fine line between when and how something seen in a video can...
Doesn't matter. They can't arrest someone just because they know them and suspect them of doing something illegal. At least not yet. :)Besides, I'm sure he's friends with at least some of the cops (since he deals with them on at least some level), so he probably has a better than even chance...
Totally unrelated. What does having a suspended license have to do with ANYTHING someone does at any point during the day, unless a cop actually pulls him over and asks to see his license?I'm sure a lot of that scouting is done ahead of time, and then the i's are dotted and the t's crossed to...
That's the way they have done it for years, and is part of their "rules of the game". (You do realize this was going on long before someone decided it should be a TV show... right?)Do you know of a more cost effective way to light an 1/8 mile stretch of unlighted road? I bet they would love...
As okcpopeman mentioned, these cars are tagged, street-legal cars. Now whether or not that meets the criteria of "street car" would depend on the context and personal opinion. The bottom line is that they are 1500+whp cars that run the 1/8 in a little over 5 seconds at 150-160mph, on unprepared...
So Eric (turbosax2) came to OKC for a while today, and I figured we'd run over to Chuck Seitsinger's shop and see what's up. As it turns out, a few of the guys from Street Outlaws were over there hanging out after hours, so we BS'd for a while and snapped some pics. This is what Eric looks like...
Just tell her:"Damn it. We're talking tenths of a second here woman! Get yer priorities straight and deal with it, or stay in the kitchen where you belong and I'll let you know how I ran when I get back. And you better have some damn dinner cooked 'cause I'm gonna be tired and hungry!"Try...
I spent about 8 hours with it, polishing every component in the action. I also replaced a borderline trigger plunger that was causing a very slight "catch" as the cylinder started to rotate, lightened the hammer spring, and added some custom grips and a sight upgrade for good measure.This...
I just picked up a GP100 stainless .357 with a 5" barrel (which doesn't "officially" exist ;)). The balance of the 4" barrel with more velocity. Can't wait for it to get here so I can put some rounds through it. After that it's hiviz sights, a spring kit, classic grips, and a polish job.BTW...
No shlt. Might as well just name it "Happy Phil" or something. And now for something completely different...I wonder how long it will be before people get tired of watching remakes and sequels, and the movie industry just dies completely? Has there been an original movie that wasn't a remake...
Just picked up a new CZ 75B. Three 16 round mags, MeproLight tritium sights, etc.I also have rubber grips and some Wolfe springs on the way for it. Can't wait to put a lot of rounds through the barrel of this thing. :D
