Cant you just move the plug to the one your trying to go to? Shouldnt move the line too much out of place.I totally get water cooling these turbos, but after being in the diesel world and not seeing a single water cooled charger makes me 2nd guess it all.Im with justin on this one, If I...
Yes Im well aware. Ive rebuilt at least 10 mitsu turbos, a handful of holsets and a borg.Im just wanting to know if the dsm hotside will line up. Doesnt matter at this point, I already bought the turbo. Ill just find out the hard way. As long as the compressor wheel hasnt touched the housing...
Yes that's what I was planning on doing. I'm unsure if the wastegate will line up with a dsm turbine housing.I wasn't sure if clocking the center the correct way on a dsm will allow the wastegate to work.
Hello all,Id ask the local turbo expert on here, but Justin hasnt been on here since may.I found a blown 20g for real cheap on facebook. It has a Subaru flange hot side and internal wastegate.I have a spare td05 rebuild kit, and 7cm hotside housing already. My only question is I dont...
Justin have you ever seen a 60-1 wheel attached to a TD06sl2 turbine before??You think that combo would work on a street car?? I just aquired a turbo that I thought was an old school FP red but after measurments the turbine is definitly a sl2.
Man you guys are making me all jealous.I picked up one of FP's 71 HTA with the tdo6sl2 turbine. I tried selling it to pick up the green xl but FP stopped there big sale and now its out of my price range. Oh well I guess Ill just run this turbo for nowIf any of you sell one of these...
Yes you can run a 16g with stock fuel system and SMIC.Do you have 3inch exhaust on your car? Only thing I worry about is boost creep. I had that problem with my old 14b untill I ported the crap out of it.You can piece together your own install kit for much cheaper then other kits. I bought...
Look into shell rotella 15 40Its what I run in my track car and my dd in summer time. Diesel oil is some of the best stuff before you get into brad penn.
I understand what your saying but in the 20g in my pictures has more aero work then a cast unit. It weighs less, has more blade surface area and costs 120$. It's not a direct copy to a cast wheel. There's noticeable differenceAlso the cast wheel I was comparing my billet one to was MHI so I'm...
Yes the blades where taller then the a cast 20g.Also as noted earlier, the hub is really meaty on the cast MHI wheel. That only gives so much surface for the blade. I noticed with the billet 20g, that the hub is much thinner and therefor theres more blade surfaceIm happy with the 120 I...
Whats the point of having a 38 mm Wastegate off the o2 if the size of the port isnt much larger then 34-35mm?I think the more you port the more boost control you have. And justin is correct for the older mitsu housings, but the new evo 3 housing are so thin already and are made of better...
I also jumped on the 120$ compressor wheel from N9 on ebay. I got it today and it looks like a solid piece.I measured and weighed the stock 20g cast wheel and this billet compressor which by the way looks identical to the 300$ + snail turbo compressor wheel. On my scale they weigh...
The one on the left definitly doesnt look like an MHI 20g wheel.May I ask where you are ordering this KTS wheel? I cant find a place that sells them for 135 shipped
I cant stand how the .70 Bolt on is v band outlet though. I will have to get a custom O2 housing, when its much easier to buy a premade o2 for the 4 bolt outlet of the .63.Ill just go with the BEP .55 then. Thanks fellas
I already have everything need for external with BEP .55.Just wondering if I should go t3 instead of DSM bolt on. If you were in my shoes what would you do?It would be cheaper for me to go dsm, but if Im going to make more air flow with the .63 I might just go with that. But if its not that...
Is it worth it to get this .63 housing or the .55 Bolt on? If its not a significant difference in flow then why spend the money on a new manifold/02 housing?Just asking because Im changing turbo set ups soon and I want to know what I should do for housings.
Is there a wastegate that for sure will clear stock fans? I know my PR recurc o2 I had to remove my AC fan on my other Talon.I need an external o2 housing for my DD but I need radiator fans more importantly. Rather not go MVS as thats too expensive. Just a normal 2 bolt wastegate.
The BOV is garbage. I gave it to a buddy who put it on his subaru. Even with loosening it to the softest setting, the bov had a hard time opening and was causing compressor surge.I would never put it on my car.
Your lucky. With my unported turbine housing with 3inch dp and 2.5inch tubular o2 housing i was creeping to 21psi by it self.Porting is pretty much your only bet man, shimming the wastegate doesnt help much
Switched my PR FMIC to the VRSF FMIC.The VRSF is the best imo. Easily change BOV, larger core, and short route.Only complaint thus far, which isnt really the intercoolers fault, is the throttle body elbow flange is aluminum. So if you take your elbow or TB off often, the flange gets warped...
By blew the motor what do you mean? The fins look fine, few scratches but for sure usable. If you spun a bearing, or there was anyway a foreign object entered the oil supply, the turbo could be screwed. Thats why I asked how it "blew"
What is the thread pitch for the manifold to turbo bolts?Ive herd of people having broken bolts issues when using home depot bolts. Even grade 8. I need to find a shorter bolt for my new manifold, but dont want to worry about busting bolts into my housing? Whats my safest bet?
This wont help much unless you have a heavily ported o2 housing. The o2 houisng is divided just like the turbine housing. The gases will just hit the divided part of the o2 housing. Doesnt make much sense IMO
