Well that's an easy one, unless I'm misunderstanding. Anyway-
"... you need to secure one wheel (perhaps by lowering the tire onto the ground), then you can figure your gear ratio by rotating the airborne tire TWOfull rotations and counting the number of times the pinion rotates. 3.73 turns...
I'm not an expert on viscous lsds but I'm fairly certain the viscous chamber is connected to one of drive(axle)shafts and other part of chamber connected to back of ring gear so the action happens outside the carrier and appears open diff inside carrier..
Check out this thread, scroll down to my post it may help somewhat.

It makes more sense to have the stops in the trans IMO. I've slowly been compiling an article on a style of short shifter that I modified, but then I heard something about SS not having the stops, therefore causes damage. But I don't think the stock shifter even has a stop, just by watching the...
I have a question, what is a tail type shifter?Suppose there were no shift stops, what happens? Shift forks break?Where are the shift stops on our cars? A little confused on the subject, never been into racing etc so I didn't think it would be a problem enough a system would be needed..
Keep rotating while lightly jiggling the pry bar until you find an odd, almost soft spot. Keeping pressure on that spot, stick another pry bar on opposite side for even pressure. That is the important part, a second pry bar. Ideally it would be thin enough so it isn't wedged before it's in...
Yours is not replaceable.

Borrow a real torch but for god sakes dont catch something on fire. That would be terrible. And watch out for any seals nearby, although I dont think there is. Then hit it with a real impact, an IR 2135 ;) after you get the female threads hot. Those bolts are big and fine thread, it doesnt...
Yuppp. Cheapest place I knew of, yeah feel free to call em and ask what happened, I'd like to know at least. If I have time in the buisness hours Ill call but thats doubtful
They told e over the phone before, that they hardly ever sold them, maybe 2 a year. I'm betting once they reordered a couple they saw the updated price and said screw it. Other places still sell them, its not they they are discontunued, its just certain places stop selling them.
Well, bad news. I just checked out brucetitus and it looks like they discontinued the shift knob. I sure as hell don't have the time to call and ask what's up but if someone else does, that would be awesome to know for sure if they're actually permanently done selling them or what happened...
Do you have any tips on where to start measuring what -if every spec checks out on the clutch, FW, crank end play, PP, TOB. Things like trans bellhousing flange, whether the starter plate is there or not, poor bellhousing cast provision for pivot, how to even check the fork, etcThis happens...
I haven't heard that yet (at least from people that know what they're talking about) but shiming the pivot is to correct the geometry due to less than perfect tolerances of each part involved. There are so many things involved there that if any are out of spec (not just the FW or clutch) will...
Do you know if anyone ever rebuilt the engine or if it's completely stock, never worked on. It'd be nice to know what's up with this dowel pin business on the 2G's
Any type of Chrysler (Dodge Jeep etc etc) dealer or Mitsu will have one or they can get one asap. Since Eagle Talon is the same stuff ya know. Just don't mention Mitsubishi or they might get their pants in a bunch about it. Just say Eagle.MD005994
That part number is the pin for the flywheel to PP. If you enter this number is ASA, it comes up showing the illustration for the pin that aligns the rear main seal housing which is MF472403, not MF472404.Looking up MF472404 on Google shows they are for the PP which utilizes 3 of themSo...
That's interesting. So there is a provision for a dowel but doesn't actually come with one? So is it the same size as the 1G dowel? The 1G dowel is 9MM x 14MM for reference
According to Mitsubishi ASA (parts program) there is no dowel between crank and flywheel on your 2G. There is 3 for the flywheel to the PP, but that's it.There is a dowel for the 1G engines, the program confirms that. Doesn't look like there is one for 2G though. It would be nice if someone...
Still looking for confirmation on the swap, do I need both axle assemblies or just the one passenger side assembly? I decided to go with the stock LSD BFH diff and would very much appreciate someone with recent experience on the swap confirming the info that I'm looking forTo recap, manual...
Nice Arnie, is that the knob you PMed me about? The guy that was selling a knob that came from Strictly Modified?I'm not totally convinced it's the OEM shifter but that's probably just because it looks a bit worn :idontknow:
Rut-rohThats one of the ones I was considering until JNZtuning popped in and explained why it wouldnt work...

Yeah the brand is called MiragePower on eBay. Fits great and it just so happens to be the cheapest! Still have to shave off or add some metal but that's no biggieI BELIEVE the weighted ones came stock on the 98/99 GSX's. Kinda the same idea as how they got the nice black/tan interior
Someone might pay $80 for a good brand, I might. But anymore than that is just a waste IMO, it's not much work to make the 'knock offs' fit right. And the nut coming loose? Holdup. For the typical person that knows nothing of cars and is writing a review for a Walmart brand DIY coatrack, they...
Put it one youtube and drop the link here.Funny you say BM feels better than the Megan, I've read the opposite from other threads.I just got the Mirage-Power one installed a few weeks ago and it's great. Same threading and knob height and very little modification done to make it pretty close...
Man you nailed it, I bought the Mirage SS because no one ever did a review on them. Turns out I didnt have to rethread, it was M10 x 1.25 pitch already! Great fit too. I have yet to write the article but I have all the pictures and I do plan on it.
And I also have the solid bushings, I definatly...
What's up fewyearsinthefuture members?! Obama still blowin' money? Thought I wasn't going to come back huh. Well guess what, I'm back and back I am with all the nerdy details of my latest purchase :DOrdered the knob from nissanparts.cc (basically same as mitsubishiparts.net just different...
