And no for the twist!! On my way home from work tonight, i was sitting in traffic and the idle started to creep up again and was at 2k. I was getting irritated so, for whatever reason, i decided to turn on my AC and the RPM's dropped to 1k and stayed there. I tested this out a couple times and...
I am thinking it is a leak somewhere now, the question will be where at haha. I will be under the hood this weekend until i find it. Thanks everyone for the help! Let me know if anyone has any other ideas!
OK. Here is my problem, I have done alot of searching and no luck on finding anything on this. Please help if you may know. My car is a 95 GSX if that helps.
When starting the car, it idles normal.(750-800) And when driving it seems fine but when it gets warm the car will start to creep up in...
Yeah, mine is not the best either. I let the car warm up everymorning for about 10 mins, drive about 15 more minutes then it will start blowing out warm. And it does eventually get really hot, but just takes forever. I have done a complete flush and new thermostat but still crappy. Just figured...
As stated before the tune is going to be the key, but the supporting mods as well. One persons opinion on supporting mods might not be the same as yours. Just make sure they include upgrades to the fuel system and that your tune is done by someone you know will do the job right! Good Luck!!
Flutters while driving, oh ok. I thought you meant while idling. That may be common on the Greddy but not 100% sure, i know that the Apexi one that was on my buddies EVO did flutter at a certain RPM and PSI.
Just run a silencer in your aftermarket muffler. You should be good as long as its not loud. At least here you would be. But no, the EVO muffler will not bolt right up.
If you are looking for a long lasting good quality, you cant go wrong with the FP. On the tubular, just remember they almost all crack eventually and with the tubular/Ram horns you def get what you pay for!
How did the cams go bad? Did you rev it too high? Check the valves to see if any were bent. Make sure all the timing marks on your cam gears are lined up correctly. Just a couple of ideas! GL
recirculate and see if it helps at all. I wouldnt worry too much about it making sound when reving in idle. The flutter could be a bad spring or just that its leaking as well.
IMO cup kits are not coilovers lol.. Do yourself and your car a favor and go with the springs and struts or REAL coilovers. You will spend more money now but be WAY happier in the long run! GL hope that helps
I just recently switched from the darkside. Yes I am a previous honda owner. I have wanted a DSM for a long time now and my brother has owned an EVO IX for a little over a year and a half and now I know all the guys from EnglishRacing and alot of the guys on Evom that can point me in the right...
Check your axles, alignment and even your tie rods. I had a similar problem just occur after purchasing my GSX and it turned out to be a bad outter tie rod. Just food for thought! Good Luck!
Def sounds like a fuel issue, but getting a stock ecu in there to see if something went a little off on the chipping sounds like the best place to start. Did you unhook any grounds anywere? I have done that and it wouldnt start for anything. Could be something as simple as that too. G/L!!
Exactly right!! Now be carefull on the tempature of the area you do this in. I have done it several times and the adhesion promotor I have used in a colder garage made it really blochy looking. Just an FYI. Good luck!!
I had the same prodlem in a previous car and it turned out to be bent valves. I am still puzzled on it tho. They were bent just enough to not shut properly. Just an idea! Hope you figure it out!
Its probably just the muffler style. Some are louder than others. I wouldnt go yanking that mesh out. You will probably not be happy. You might get a louder muffler but it might actually start rattling too.
Sounds like a good deal...But sometimes its too good to be true. It is definitly going to be a project for you. Just remember you will probably spend countless hours trying to figure out what parts are good and what might be bad. I have made that mistake in the past and will never do it again...
I am having a similar problem right now. At idle the pressure drops and the oil light flickers but after i rev the motor it will go back up to normal. I checked the oil and I am not burning or leaking any. I will check the return line as well!
