Resolved Port Matching 2G Head to FP Exhaust Manifold

Ah okay, thank you for clearing that up! Just another case of me overthinking things haha

Resolved Port Matching 2G Head to FP Exhaust Manifold

Oh... if that's true then I did a lot of research for no reason lol. I know the intake ports are very different on the 6 and 7 bolt heads, I thought that applied to the exhaust ports too.

Resolved Port Matching 2G Head to FP Exhaust Manifold

I've been running an FP exhaust manifold on my 2G 7-bolt head to my e3 16g turbo for a few years now and it's ran great, but a question occurred to me recently. The FP manifold is compatible with both 6 and 7 bolt heads, so obviously the ports on the manifold are made bigger to match the...

2G Random push button wired under steering column

Yeah your car probably has older AC Autotechnic gauges or at least had them at some point. There are forums talking about these gauges on this site dating back to at least 2003. Glad to hear that it's just reside on the wire and not burn marks! I'm curious where that 4 wire cable goes since it...

2G Random push button wired under steering column

If I remember correctly I believe that solid blue wire is the ACC wire, so it only has power when the ignition switch is in ACC or ON position. So that switch would only work with the car turned on. My only guess would maybe be a turbo timer? What's confusing me is that the red spliced wire...

2G Throttle body missing "E" and "A" nipples?

If you deleted your emissions then there's no use for them. Cap them off or plug them up somehow or you'll have a good sized vacuum leak. All 3 of mine are capped off and it runs perfectly fine. You said the nipples are broken off, if that's the case then yes just weld them shut to seal it up.

    1999 gst auto

I agree with everyone about doing the maintenance first then following the upgrade path. Also the best investment you can make is ecmlink, especially if you're planning on upgrading

2G Losing Oil pressure. 99 GSX

What do you mean by this? Does the engine seize because there's no oil? And I have the same question of how you're measuring the oil pressure. If you're using the factory gauge, that's not very reliable. I've had a bad electrical connection before on that gauge and it would zero out sometimes...

    2G New Altenator Connector

My 4-wire alternator connector broke and won't lock into place anymore, so it's time for a new one. I looked at all the places selling the connector online, and found a few on ebay. It came in the mail, but in the pigtails all 4 wires are the same gauge as opposed to the factory wires where 2...

2G What brand rack and pinion to get?

    That's awesome! Thank you

2G What brand rack and pinion to get?

My power steering rack has been slowly leaking for awhile but it's gradually gotten worse and worse, so now I'm looking to change it out. My question is what brand do I go with? It's nearly impossible to find one that isn't remanufactured, I don't know if new OEM ones still exist. I've found...

    Custom DSG Transmission

The Evo X is mounted the same way as our DSM's? I'll have to look into that more. But yeah I realize the easiest way to accomplish this would be to swap the entire Evo X powertrain into the dsm, and if I do that then I may as well just buy an Evo X.I fail to see how this will cost hundreds of...

    Custom DSG Transmission

Yeah you make really good points, and I wasn't aware the engine placement was reversed in the Zotye models. Thank you for the information, I may still check it out just for fun. Looking at the evo X and gti transmissions, I'd have to reverse the engine as well unfortunately. So it looks like I...

    Custom DSG Transmission

Thank you for the information, yes it is a monumental task but one that I am very interested in doing. After all, we've come this far with DSMs because of people constantly pushing the boundaries of tuning. I like taking on projects that nobody else is doing. I even have a few more ideas that...

    Custom DSG Transmission

I didn't know the MR had that type of transmission, that looks promising. I just don't particularly care for the Evo X. I'm set on using the 2G eclipse though, I wonder what it would take to make the SST transmission fit into the 2G?

    Custom DSG Transmission

Hello all, I've been doing a bit of research and wanted to ask for your opinions on an idea I had.I've been looking into various types of transmissions to use for my future build, which will eventually be a high powered daily driver. I realize there's many things to consider with that goal...

Help No canister after Awd swap on spyder

After looking around a little bit, apparently Mitsubishi liked to move the charcoal canister around everywhere. It depends on if you have fwd/awd, abs/non-abs, turbo/non-turbo, 2.0/2.4, etc. The most common locations are behind the front bumper on the drivers side under the headlight, under the...

Help No canister after Awd swap on spyder

Hopefully you solved this problem since this was posted a month ago, but I'll offer some advice. My gsx had the entire evap system removed and it runs perfectly fine. Most guys on here delete their evap system unless their state requires them to have it for inspection. Carefully study the vacuum...

    Resolved BCS help

Thank you both, that diagram was a huge help, I was looking in the wrong section of the wiring harness. I found the wires and figured out that the PO cut off the connector altogether instead of just unplugging it for some reason. I crimped connectors on the end of the wires that fit into the BCS...

    Resolved BCS help

You're absolutely right, thank you for the clarification. I'll be ordering that relay soon, thankfully it's only a backup relay so it can still drive without it. But anyone have any insight as to the location of the BCS wire?

    Resolved BCS help

Hello all, I've recently decided to move to North Carolina and take my GSX with me. But one problem, they do emissions testing. So I've been going through my CEL codes trying to resolve all of them, but I'm having a hard time with code P1104 (Turbocharger Waste Gate Solenoid Circuit...

    Resolved Fuel return lines

Thank you guys! I didn't know the breather line ran all the way across that car like that. That's a good idea @tametalon92 to put a check valve on there. I don't have any pictures at the moment but I'll try to snap some photos to help somebody reading this thread in the future

    Resolved Fuel return lines

Hello all, this might be a really dumb question but that's why I'm posting in the noob forums lol.The previous owner of my 2g GSX eliminated most of the emissions parts, so I sometimes have a hard time figuring out where things are supposed to go since it's been modified so much. As I was...

    Resolved Autometer Airdrive gauges

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the advice, I decided against it. Just wanted to make sure before I bought a different set of gauges since the airdrive is so easy to set up.

    Resolved Autometer Airdrive gauges

Hello all, I'm looking into getting gauges for my gsx. I've looked at many options, and first decided on Glowshift just for the look of it. But then I've read on here that they aren't the most accurate so I decided against it. I've heard only good things about Autometer though, so I'll be going...
