Once more I find myself coming back to these cars. It’s unexplainable but unconditional love and nostalgia keeps me reviving these cars. This one is the grossest one I’ve come across with the shadiness that plagued the dsm community which contributed to the bad reputation our cars have...
(Had the garage clean for a few days after assembling the engine and we’re back to this. )Oh man it’s so nice being able to walk around while it lasts tho haha.Beautiful work so far tho.
Started to buff out some scratches since she’s almost ready. I’ve only done a 20 minute cycle and drain since the rebuild because I don’t have tags. She hasn’t been registered since 2007 :toobad: . I will get some temp tags tomorrow and get to proceeding with the engine break in.

Gas tank cleaned inside n out and re installed.

Crankshaft remained at standard spec.

Finally took the block and crankshaft to the machine shop for servicing. Boring over and crankshaft polish. On a separate thread I posted my cylinder block had ribbed cylinder walls on cylinder 2 and 3. This is what I found.I had ordered new balance shaft bearings prior to the tear down...
The interior was originally gray with a touch of red spray paint from a previous owner. Slowly working my way to black interior. I just came across these local front seats and decided to replace the cloth seats.
I bought the car about 2 years ago as a shell and sourced everything to get it in running condition. It still needs work and I will be pulling the engine soon for a complete rebuild.
