At some point in the thread the acronym SAFC was used. I think most readers are taking that as Super Air Flow Controller (or whatever it stands for), the Apex-i device. The OP of the phrase SAFC in this thread meant Stand-Alone Fuel Computer. Just wanted to clear that up. I read someone say...
well break it down.... there are companys out there selling full IC kits with very GOOD ICs for 800-900 bucks, MAF and MAFT should only be 250, intake pipe and filter should be another 100 or so. Its a good deal if your pinching pennies, but unless that IC is the best thing since white bread...
14bs turn into hair driers at 16-18 PSI. If you were to back your boost to 17 and tune with a wideband, you can lean it out with little or no knock and get some NICE numbers and reduce heat soak duty time and keep thoes combustion chambers a bit cooler. Just my .02 cents
You might want to look into the anti-stalling settings on the AFC...A blowthough MAFT at the throttlebody elbo could help you out. When you recirculate boost, your mas. sees VERY little airflow and causes the computer to NOT shoot any fuel. I would look at your karmen frequencies on the...
I usually bring 10-20 horsepower up ALL across the board on a completely stock car. modded cars often result in 20-50 horsepower. The torque curve usually jumps up alot quicker after tuning. I dont normaly see peak torque numbers going up more than a handfull unless the boost is also raised...
Do you have a front mount? what turbo?24 is kinda high for timing and 86 is drasticly lean for pump gas, it dosnt seem to register knock at that point but it seems to pull after 6000 anyway. If your injectors are going way rich up top when you add just a small percentage: then you're...
it would help a little on for cleaning up your o2 values, but with higher fuel pressure, your computer decreases pusewidth to adapt and that lessens the load on the injectors... which is something you want if your going to stretch your 450s up to higher than stock boost. first things first...
not to split hairs... but the big16G is rated for about 380 horses where the 550 injectors are good for about 360 horses. an evo 16G should flow slightly more but I dont have a HP rating for it. In reality, there arnt many pump gas cars that are tuned to run 360 HP on a 16G, but it's not a...
not bad numbers for a car with a cat on it. what kind of down-pipe are you running? I would recomend looking into a fuel pressure regulator and some tuning. Turn that fuel pressure down and increase pulsewidth in the bottom and keep the top end about the same: that would lean out your top...
it would be nice to have that 255, it would run you a little richer as it would have a bit higher fuel pressure. I would recomend doing that if you plan on running the car at any more than 12-13 PSI. You will have an overly rich condition running like that, but it's better than blowing up your...
its quite simple:450/720=.625it deduces all of the stock injector pulsewidths by .625 so they should still dump the same amount of fuel as stock trim does.
but whatever turbo you go with, make sure to clean or replace your feed line and return line for oil, especially if its a replacement for a siezed turbo.Mod edit: shop plug removed.
ive gotten 280 horses 280 torque in 105 degree weather with no fan on the IC with 510 injectors and a big 16g at 18 psi, stock motor, running 10.5:1 air fuel (WAY out of tune)... if your numbers indicate anything: youve got a major problem somewhere that needs to be tuned out.what vaccume...
check the AEM site... they have some good people working the boards...Im sure you can find some base maps and get all your questions answered here: http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/login.php or just http://forum.aempower.com/
