I know about the strut towers and how it is supposed to sit inside the hatch area as I currently have it installed :p (my fault for not mentioning that above).I am more curious as to HOW the strings attach or hang from the hatch. There do not appear to be any "mounting" points for the strings...
Hey guys, I have my deck cover from my car but it looks as if it has seen a bit of use over the years before I have gotten it. It looks as if it should attach to the hatch somehow but I have no been able to figure out how it is supposed to do so. I would be grateful for anyone who can post some...
I have a question... First, are all the splotches on the paint just from Bugs? hahaAnd second, it doesn't seem like it has that same sheen as the rest of the car. I understand it was rattle canned, but I am curious to know if you had tried wet sanding it after you got done with the clear coat.
This may sound like a silly question... But what happened to the original odometer when these new gauges were installed? And does the new setup have an odometer that is being used? Just curious...
Has anyone seen this before? What are these?? I have never run across this before. I would love to hear more about this....This is a really interesting setup for the front end of the 1Ga, I know the hood has been replaced but it really looks Good in a different kind of way... Almost...
I bought my car repainted single color in the stock tan although it kind of makes the car unique in a way as a Talon, I would prefer to go back to the black top look only the tan and black talon with the black wrap around wing doesn't look so appealing on the 1G at least to me.. on the 2G.... go...
I drilled out the rivets from the "snorkel" on the intake can. Gives the filter a bit more breathing room instead of cutting the whole can apart as well as I pulled the silencer out of the intake.
We know its a just a joke on the 4g63T. It wouldn't be functional for us. And as I said before It would be good for someone who has a 420a if they ducted and sealed off the intake for a forced CAI style. Exactly like anout us 4g63t guys putting it where the SMIC was.
WOOOO!!! Finally a way to cool off my timing belt without the cover on it!!!!! :applause:I agrre more with Pied Eye on this one. There is a crazy science to under hood ventilation and just cutting random holes in the hood, even if it looks good can actually hurt the efficiency of the under...
Haha I just about to say.. "Hey, isn't that last car a Celica..." haha. That kit that motozachl posted looks very interesting... Not sure how i feel about it yet though.
Do you know if the O2 sensor provided is compatible with the older ECU's to use as a direct replacement and wire the 0-1v to the ECU for a narrowband simulation?
tough as it was, in my 1G, i drilled a hole in the center of the fire wall behind the ECU area where the trans cables go through and pulled the wire through there and ran it under the center console, rear seats and up through the seatbelt hole. Due to the way that the sub sat in the back of the car.
I never looked closely at this picture but what is all the stuff under the radio? looks like 1 is a turbo timer and the other is like an audio slider bar for bass and treble... and a monster cradle?? lol
Personally, I think that the 2GB Talon kit looks the best on these cars as well would would be saving these parts from the Talon owners looking to ruin the Talons with an Eclipse 2GB conversion.
I really like the look of the 3 pod radio bezel. I think someone should re-invent the shifter linkage cover to incorporate like 3 gauges into it at a slight upward angle facing the driver somewhat... I think it would be sexy!
Haha I already have one. That was my point. It flows better than the stock one with paper element but I am getting ready to install my 3" GM maf soon so meh... But if you want to send it to me for free, I wouldn't mind having a couple of older aftermarket parts like that haha.
Does anyone know if the mirrors for the Evo 3 would work on a 1G dsm? I found some sick aftermarket ones, though expensive look really sweet and are carbon fiber!!Ganador Super MirrorsNo idea if something like this would work but who knows.
Should have just bought an eclipse. They are readily available against the falling numbers of Talons especially to the conversion... :sosad:As far as the how the car looks... I think you did a wonderful job on that paint!!
haha, the exhaust tips got painted too!!Looks great! I think I have too much prep work to do on my car to be able to try anything quite like this. At least not at this time in life.
looks really cool but I would miss having my little cigarette lighter and little Misc crap holder aka ashtray. Not that I smoke though. AWESOME looking though!! great job.
*sigh* I am going to upset some people by posting and yet again bumping this thread.Great idea... horrible response time! Even if this wasn't his main priority, you would think with all the interest he has gotten from all of us that he would have been like... well let me go see whats going...
Can anyone identify the wing that this DSM has on the hatch? It's interesting looking. Found the car when looking through phoenix craigslist.1991 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD 5-speed
I have one of those HKS mushroom filters. I didn't know wtf it was when I first got the car. I even asked a few people I knew and no one really knew what it was haha.Isn't that the original seats that came with the car? looks like the stock seats I had in my 1ga eclipse.
i like the chair balancing act! black looks nice but i don't know if I would want an all black interior. i kind of like the gray/black combo. Overall the work quality looks good though!
I was going to suggest just taking it to an exhaust/muffler shop and have one made for you... usually cheaper than buying one and usually pretty decent quaility. But if you are already going to make one yourself, then that pretty much solves that problem. I have an ebay catback Tsudo exhaust...
Does anyone know what the trim pieces were originally coated with? This material although obvioulsy wears in time, has lasted for some time as some of these cars are now almost 20 years old plus would add the stock feel/look back to our cars instead of the painted chrome fade look haha.
ahhh... Well you could just change all of it if you can find it in the green. The other thing you could do is add the Talon rear wing. Just have to drill out the holes. Stuff like that would make the car stand out a little more.
