Ah balls, youre right. My computer was going on the fritz when i was trying to reply to here so id gotten mixed up whos profile i was trying to look at.
If the turbo that is currently on the car is stock you arent going to be able to just slap on that turbo. T3 refers to the flange size/style. There is definitely more to it. Youll have to think about turbo oil feed as well as a drain. Plus the exhaust downpipe will have to be purchased or...
Thats really about it! A couple years ago my spyder made 452/440awhp on a dynojet with a single rewired 255, 1000s, stock lines, stock fuel filter and a -6 from the filter to the rail (to eliminate the banjo bolt at the filter), afpr too, on E85 @ ~29psi oh and a stock 7 bolt. I was seeing 90%+...
Scaredy cats.. I dont know the difference in the blocks or bearings, myself. However I am still running stock 7 bolt and the car is very close to 500 awhp.. Dont be scared of the early 7 bolts. The likely hood of actually having to worry about it is very slim. Run it!
Best advise would be to buy yourself a service manual and/or get to reading and start doing things like this yourself! Saves you money! :D Although, this does sound like a clutch issue. But also could be that they didnt adjust the master cylinder correctly if at all. Check out this video and...
Glad you figured it out! Although buying a car that deep into its modification as your first of this kid may not have been the best idea. But At least you're willing to learn and accept advice others have given! :thumb:
Tim might chime in but I know hes pretty busy recently with some pretty big projects. But nothing looks off to me here. Just make sure your adjustments are all within spec upon getting it all back together. Did you have the flywheel resurfaced? If not you may have troubles getting the clutch...
Pshh thats just a ringland.. Tis nothin! haha..My story is pretty lame actually. Im not really sure what caused it. And this story is no bull shit. It was new years eve, Id just gotten off work (off at 11). Went home quick to change and headed to a buddies house that was about 15 minutes from...
I highly doubt its plugs, as you said it fires with starting fluid. I dont think the pump is bad, I've had a 255 in my car for YEARS and never had an issue with it shitting out.. Right now your issue is with the wiring, you have to get it back to the point where you could continuously crank and...
When my spyder was FWD and I didnt have a lift available Id unbolt the passenger lower control arm and remove the axle completely. Push the strut and arms out of the way, set the trans on my lap and scoot into the wheel well. Use my legs and arms to get it into place. Sometimes it went in in no...
Could be lifter tick. Could also be the trigger plate.. Rotate the engine by hand and inspect the plate to see if it is making contact. Im pretty positive its not but I could be wrong. Crank sensors are easily destroyed.
Im not a huge believer that the gas would be bad.. Ive had numerous cars fire right up with just a fresh battery after sitting longer than the OPs car. My 86 fiero for example.. Sat since 2007, last summer I checked the oil and threw in a new battery. Splash of fuel in the throttle body and boom...
Your transmission spun a bearing? Hmm thats a new one. Also why would your exhaust need to be replaced? Its a steel pipe.. Unless its got holes in it, which I highly doubt it does, leave it and bolt it back up. You dont need to replace the intercooler. Timing belt yes, water pump ehhh dont have...
Bringing this back. Twice in the past week my factory alarm has gone off.. The first time I didnt realize thats what was going on. I unlocked my door to get something and heard a relay clicking. Didnt see anything out of the ordinary, but then again I didnt look very long as I had other things...
Yes, positive theyre from a turbo. Most likely one took a shit on a previous owner and they replaced it with the one thats on the car now. Check this out, theres more of situations like yours. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/471620-oil-pan-metal-pieces.html
OP, this really sucks to see, glad nobody was hurt!!However, I think this was just a freak accident. If one flywheel comes apart out of thousands in many years of use than thats just shitty luck. Id say these flywheels are pretty good quality. Im using a stock flywheel and it doesnt bother me...
They covered it.. I literally just did this to my spyder because I didnt want it on jacks all winter.. You NEED, FWD trans, axles (both sides) starter plate and flywheel. Then just drop the driveshaft and you're good to go.Ninja edit.. Also get your grammar in check. Its crap. Its in the...
The link DSMCRZY posted has the bolt you're looking for in post 2. M12x35. Pitch is probably 1.25. Why not just pull out the remaining bolt and take it for a comparison?
Fiberglass on steel that has a pretty tremendous load on it? Sounds like a terrible idea. Not only does fiberglass not bond to steel well at all but you might as well not even waste the money because it wont do anything. The second part you said is so much better. OP, if it were me Id cut out...
My situation is a little different but I have some trouble with dead cold starts on e85. Theres been a few times where I just added a little bit of fuel to the cells being used during cold start and bam, fires right up. However that is on V3. I only personally know one guy running Jackal, but...
1) Oh really? That video I posted in my first response IS a 6 bolt.. Any engine with a crankshaft can walk.2) So a 6 bolt with a heavy clutch isnt putting the same load on the crankshaft as on a 7 bolt?
So you knew that the crank sensor was bad so you pulled the entire motor??? Why not just get a new one?Only way to know if you do have a thrust bearing failure would be to check it. You said you "mechanic" did. Doesnt sound like it to me..This is crankwalk. I was going to put this motor in my...
Im confused.. You're looking to use a 99 rear differential in your 1g??If thats the case you're looking to have a lot of fun.. 2g rear diffs arent a 3 or 4 bolt design. They're splined at the diff and in the rear hubs. 1g's are splined at the diff and 3 or 4 bolts to secure the axles to the...
What all did you take off when pulling the head? They all really only have one place to go. Could have used labeled bags to separate them all. Next time! ;)
Good luck with that.. The unibodies are totally different. However, with enough money, time, patients and know how anything can be done.. But heres a little look. Heres a 1g rear subframe Redirect Noticeannnd a 2g rear subframe. Redirect NoticeAs you can see they are significantly...
Far as I knew they didnt make an Ingalls rear kit, just the fronts.. However if they do you're probably wasting money buying one. Right now I think I have about 3/8" to 1/2" of washers for my camber fix. and I still have some negative camber. I cant say how much since I really dont remember. Im...
Exactly! You have spark and the pump works. That means you have a fuel blockage somewhere between the pump and rail. I would start with a new fuel filter.
So now the starter just spins? Does not engage the ring gear? But yes your fourth line, I was saying to just delete the plug and connect the two wires. But with that and the positive wire connected the car should turn over with the key. If not, I really am not sure without being able to be...
Im not sure that carb cleaner would really clean that. I would either go to a junk yard and grab a whole new connector or just cut that out all together and get some male/female connectors and plug the wires to eachother. But, my guess is that connector is your issue.
Is the single wire connector on the solenoid in place *seen here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-electrical-wiring/298047-2g-engine-bay-electrical-connections-2.html#post151542296Also make sure this guy is connected securely...
Dont see how It could be the starter. He said that if he runs jumper wire it cranks. How about instead of asking us if its a bad ground or fuse, just go out and check. Would take about 10 minutes. Then you'd know. Or, the battery is just low, have you tried charging it?
I get around 20mpg on E85 and my 1000s.Like others have said its all how well your car is dialed in. A couple years ago on 93 oct, 20g and still fwd I got 37 highway and high 20s in town on the same injectors.
Yea pressure wash the hell out of it, hell go crazy, spray errrthannng!! Never know could end up like me, I did that and BOOM went from this to this!!"]"]Haha ok maybe Im kidding. I did what Gofer was saying. Except I removed everything and repainted. As for now, I just use a...
Are your plug wires in the correct location? Have you checked all your fuses? Make sure your engine is well grounded to the chassis. Check all sensors are secure and in the correct positions. The crank sensor, cam sensor and A/C plugs are all right next to each other on your model.Check all...
If you were only in about 7-8" of water I have no idea why you are even contemplating any of this? You were no were near deep enough to have water flow up your exhaust, through the hot side of the turbo, and into any open valves nor be sucked through you air filter. Unless you have your filter...
For someone mechanically inclined or been working on these things for a while could probably have it done in 4-6 hours.. Somebody fairly new and first timer probably should set aside a weekend or more.
^^ Kind of!Transmission/t-case
axles
clutch/flywheel or flex plate if you're auto
down pipe
and oil pan.Once everything is off, then your seal will be visible. 5 10mm bolts hold the "housing" on. Just use a screw driver and remove the old seal and tap the new one in. New gasket and bolt it...
I dont think he would be having any rust issues since 2g gas tanks are the plastic material. What Id do is drop the tank (have to drop the rear subframe to get to it) and syphon all the gas out. Then swish around a gallon of fresh fuel in it. Im not real sure if that would really do anything but...
