Looks like i'm 0 for 4 now. It's been almost 2 weeks on my fourth "purchase" from here and I have nothing to show for it.What the hell is wrong with people? This is the problem with the internet. If these losers lived closer THEY WOULD GET DEALT WITH PERSONALLY.Off to paypal to make yet...
It seems like BEP's bolt on housing should put you well above a 16G.Summary provided by wiseman, Dsm-onster:HX35:The 8blade hx35 has a 56mm compressor inducer. This is found on 1995-1998 cummins manual pickups. The compressor flows 52 lb/min according to the compressor map. The...
The seats have a nice flat bottom. It doesn't look like it would be hard to fab something up to make them fit. At most, a little flat stock and a drill / bolts and you are good to go. Just make sure it's secure, as a seat is a serious safety item!
Oil leak may be the oil pan. Try to clean it up and put some dye in the oil and check it out.Glowing manifold is probably due to a lean condition probably caused by a boost leak. Do a boost leak test.Black plastic things are carrier bearings. There is a cheap ghetto fix with glue, or you...
From what I understand you need a RA50 or finer flat finish on the block for it to seal properly. There is debate about the copper spray. Personally, I ran a MLS without copper spray and without decking the block (just cleaned it well) before I knew any different and it worked fine for me on a...
I couldn't believe how many leaks I had on my car. I had to seriously crank my couplers to get them to seal and the most interesting leak was the seal on my turbo housing. It wouldn't even hold 4 PSI.
I have had great service from the DSM vendors. Extreme PSI, Slowboy racing, VR Speed, etc have been awesome. I do spend the money where it counts, OEM where it makes sense, and trusted vendors for everything after market. The few parts I wanted to buy used were stepping stone parts - like the...
Are you running head shields on the o2 sensor housing and exhaust manifold? Heat will kill these things faster than anything. I bought one for a 97 galant. Bolts up like stock and puts out 90 amps.
$600 is a great deal for that short block especially if you can get a warranty. It's tough to find a machine shop that is familiar with these engines and / or have a torque plate for one to bore it properly (if it needs it). Also, rebuilding a high performance turbo engine isn't exactly...
You can use your boost gauge or the one on the regulator on the compressor. Or just put a t inline and put a gauge on it. Or buy this one: BOOST LEAK TESTER EVO DSM 4G63 16G: eBay Motors (item 130443394584 end time Nov-11-10 16:02:04 PST)
It will show you serious leaks, but some leaks don't show up till a certain psi. Here you go: How To: Boost leak tester for $5.02 - evolutionm.netI made one just like it. Works great.
I sure hope it gets better. I really like the car, but this is leaving a really bad taste in my mouth.I'll leave feedback, but I don't have enough postings yet.
As far as I know, a 16g wasn't offered in anything that was sold in the states - at least one that bolts up to an eclipse. Bolt on t28's are also an after market thing.Best bet would be to find a 14b out of a 1g eclipse. You will also need at least a J pipe to run a 14b or 16g on your 2g.
The car came with a T25. A t28 will bolt up to a stock setup, but if it doesn't have a stock turbo on it now, you will need to find out what it is. It may have a non -stock manifold / plumbing.
How are the plug wires? Plug gap? You might also test your new coil. Heat tends to make coils less efficient, so that would make me think it's the coil even though it is new.
I recently got back into the DSM scene with a $800 2g with engine issues. To save some cash and do some upgrades I thought it would be a good idea to buy some stuff on DSM trader and here on the classifieds.First "purchase" was a set of ARP's off DSM trader. Emailed the seller, got his...
A lot of people have had trouble getting peel and seal to stick long term. Also it's acoustic properties are not as good as the purpose built dampeners. Availability of Pee and Seel depends upon your climate as it's not sold everywhere. (it's not sold here in Washington that I could find.)
Here...
If the chips come in contact with the belt it sure can tear a belt up. Can you move the crank pulley back and forth? The balancer on my car came apart in my hands on mine. The rubber rots and can cause the pulley to wobble and eventually fall apart.
On one of my dsm's I forgot to bump the starter before I had half the car apart (including wiring). My 500ft pound impact wouldn't budge the bolt. Put the transmission in 5th gear, jammed a stick between the brake and seat (would have been easier to have someone push the brake but I was alone)...
Synthetic is fine for break in. Many new cars come with synthetic from the factory. I wouldn't use it since you should start it, let the temp come up, beat on it, and then change the oil in less then 100 miles or so. Synthetic is a little spendy just to use to clean the crap out of the engine...
There should be a lot more fuel than that if you pulled an injector out. Check the fuel pump at the connector to see if it's getting voltage. Have someone turn the key to on and take the gas cap off to check if you can hear the pump running.
I've actually never been there. I just read this on thier website: "We also own our own 4G6x torque plate!"I'm not sure what use owning a torque plate is if you don't actually have a machine shop to use it with."We offer full machine shop service and motor assembly."I suppose that...
You don't have to run coolant through the turbo. If you do not run the lines you just have to idle the motor a little while to cool it down after a hard run to prevent coking the oil. I ran my last eclipse oil cooled only for thousands of miles with no ill effects. Many stock cars come oil...
