SpeedFab in Jax is who I've always used. They tuned my GSX for me, and built a bulletproof Nissan VQ35 for me. They even make a few custom turbo setups for me also.
I just moved to Savannah from Jacksonville, Fl. While I sold my GSX last year, I'm planning on getting another (already found one) as soon as we buy a house. Would love to get together with someone, get some grease on my hands and get back into the DSM game. Hit me up if anyone needs or wants...
Clay county transmissions does awesome work. They have 2 shops. One of them is on CR220 in Fleming Island; their other shop is on blanding in middleburg. another fantastic shop is Ferran Transmissions, located on Beach near University.
I noticed you mentioned replacing the drive shaft for a one piece. No one makes them, and they are HIGHLY unrecommended. The rear ends cannot hold the power. Even the fasted 1g's and 2g's are still running multiple drive shafts. However I do know that The Drive Shaft Shop does make a drive...
IMO it's worth the cash. I would however have the dealership read and diagnose the code for you so that you know what your dealing with prior to buying the car.
So far I've only got 3 people who have said they will def. be there. I need at least 10 people to show up. For those of you who have said you'll be there, I'll PM you and keep you informed.
This is a very common issue. Our headlight connectors are inverted from the standard car. So in lamins terms, our positive is everyone else's negative. How you should fix it - unplug your HID connector from the factory plug for the light bulb, and flip it, and then plug it in again. If this...
After checking all of he usual suspects: plugs, wires, boost leak. I checked the tune. I use the SAFC-II, and changed some settings due the atmospheric changes occurring with the season change. Did a re-tune, fixed the issue.
Well here's the final verdict on what I've done with this setup. I kept the 550cc injectors, kept the SAFC-II, and am running the turbo at 14lbs. So far spool time is around 3000rpm, and dyno numbers coming soon, still waiting on the clutch break in period. Best guess is around 400awhp...
What do you mean "better tuning device"? I'm running PTE 750cc injectors with the SAFC-II with no problems. I don't disagree that DSMLINk or a standalone would be best, but don't under estimate the SAFC-II, and the right tuner of course
I see tons of chick driving DSM's down here. It's okay though, because I love to beat up on mustangs and corvette's with a "chick's car". haha. If you take the time to get to know some of the members here on the forums, 80% of us are guys.
Get your insurance company involved. They would help you in a legal way providing support and will in some cases fight the insurance companies in these matters. I had a girl it me from behind on the highway and her insurance company only wanted to give me $500 for my 95 gst, and I had the car...
Who's up for a BBQ this month. It will be on Sunday October 25th. It will be at Westside Regional Park. Tons of parking. Event will start at 11am and will end whenever everyone leaves.Address is :

His car isn't a 420A and the information will be inaccurate since the 4G64 is closer to the 4G63. I have quite a few questions and comments for you to consider and answer.1. What size fuel pump?
2. The stock GST injectors won't hold a T3/T4 turbo's fuel needs very well I'd recommend...
Since he's probable paying you and you agreed to do the job, it's YOUR responsibility to finish the job. Things I would check:1. Oil pan, check to make sure all bolts are installed and gasket isn't leaking.
2. Check the main seal, for leakage.
3. Try to narrow down where to noise is...
Yes they are different. Unfortunately, if they were for a FWD GST then they would work, but the chassis are slightly different for the conv't and coupe. Sorry.
No CEL or codes, checked CAS all is well, pulled timing cover, timing is perfect. My logger verified both, for a brief second the car ran, and I literally mean 1 second.
If it were me, I would build the motor to withstand 400whp, then build a custom turbo kit, not by one off the shelf. Then I'd enjoy the hell outta it. However be prepared to spend some cash, on parts/labor. However to do a motor swap and build to 400whp would cost approx. $2k more. My 98 RS-t...
No way, wet sanding with 800 would take a month to finish. Sand with 320, using an orbital sander or DA. Then wet sand with 400, the 600. Then re-clear.
Like everyone said the 4g63 and 4g64 engine swaps are popular and possible, just alot of work. Why do you want to swap motors? The 420A motors have been known to throw down some serious power when built right. Obviously they cost ore to mod, but at the end of the day, if your N/T can outrun a...
Stop saying it's the HG, it's NOT. Here's a quick way to tell, pull your dipstick out, if the oil looks normal, it's not the headgasket because there isn't any water in the oil. If it looks like chocolate milk then it may be either the HG or a cracked block, since there's water in the oil.I...
The pictures suck, so it's hard to tell. It does however look as though your referring to the wastegate ports. I wouldn't be too concerned, especially since you've got a new turbo, and plan on buying the supporting mods to install which will also include some sort of exhaust manifold and o2...
Wheel Adapters Spacers They have a sorts of adapters that will change 4 to 5 lug patterns, you'll just need to know what size 4 and 5 you need.i.e.
4 lug patters are either 4x100 or 4x114.3
5 lug patterns are either 5x100, 5x114.3 or 5x120
I have by switch disconnected electronically so that I don't have to engage my clutch everytime I start my car. Also, if that WAS the problem the engaged clutch wouldn't allow the flywheel to spun. The starter would only make a clicking sound like tapping keys on a piece of glass. My starter...
1x 10mm deep well socket, 1x 12mm deep well socket, 1x14mm deep well socket, ratchet, 12mm wrench. Have fun. Also, don't forget to replace the gaskets and crush washers.
So, here's the issue. I last drove my car on Thursday night. It ran great, sounded great, everything was fine. It sat all day Friday, and then this morning. I went to start it around 6pm tonight, with no success. I checked the usual suspects. Here's a list of what I checked and what I found...
If the car was totaled and you accepted the check from the insurance company then the car will never be "street legal" again. I t can be fixed, but the DMV has the title as a totaled car, and it is irreversible. At least in Florida it is. I'd check with the dmv before dropping any money into...
First mods should always be MAINTENANCE. Air filter, fuel filter, timing belt if needed, head gasket if needed. Then it's pretty straight forward. You need air and fuel. Get an metal intake of some kind, and a GOOD air filter. Leave the stock sidemount intercooler, you do not need a FMIC yet...
You have a few other things to consider when calculating MPG's and why your running a low number. Doing basic maintenance to the car would help your MPG. Check the air filter, if it needs cleaned or replaced, do so. Check your fuel filter, if it's dirty or needs replaced do so. Change your...
Another thing to check would be the Dyno challenge under the "Member's" Tab at the top of the page. It lists all dyno numbers for the DSMtuners members. Using the hp number your looking to hit, check out their mod list that got them to that number. Also, I would always encourage people to...
Since you asked for opinions, I like the Autometer Cobalt gauges for their black faces and blue lights. AEM's A/F Wideband gauge is also black faced and should compliment the Cobalt series gauges nicely. However, Autometer makes a Wideband gauge in the Cobalt series, that in my opinion would...
I say it depends on the setup, and how well the person tuning the device can actually tune. The proper device with the wrong tuner won't help at all. Devices do have limits, determining what you want to be able to modify will help in your decision. Here are some examples:AFC - only...
It is called the oil return line. It return oil running through the turbo back into the oil pan. It is a common problem and it easily fixed. You can find a new one at many places. Junkyard, dealership, Ebay, Craigslist, or you can go aftermarket and get one from DSMparts.com. Good luck
Sounds like the gasket between the elbow and TB, or the TB to intake manifold got stuck on the flapper inside of the TB and is keeping it open. In fact I'd put money on it. Pull that stuff off and check.
That is incorrect, if you have a boost leak your car will idle funny, and your car will not perform well. It is advised not to drive the car without fixing the problem. I'd try to tighten up those couplers, and see if it fixes anything. But i wouldn't rely on this car in it's current condition...
Technically speaking you have 9mm of clearance without rolling your fenders. That is too close for comfort for me personally. Why do you insist of on running 245's? If you run 235's you significantly increase the gap fron tires to body. According to the chart, you have 8mm of knuckle clearance...
Here ya go.1. Remove front wheels.
2. Remove brake rotors/calipers.
3. Remove nuts holding the upper control arm to the body, nuts located approx. 2" left and right of strut tower.
4. Remove 2 bolts holding strut assembly to hub.
5. Remove 3 bolts holding strut to strut tower.
6...
Have you tried any of the recommendations that have been given to you? If so what did you find? If not, that is the first thing you need to do, check for external leaks, (easiest test) if yes then find it and fix it, if no, then check the oil for water in the oil, if yes then you have a blown...
