Hey Bud92gsx I'm Canadian as per your commentDamm canadians..But don't worry, this thread is full of american ricers oo..Oh and your right this is a picture of an American car when i went down to pick up some parcels. HaHa..
It's all about what you want. if you set your goals and your motor is where you want it. Go for it. I like anything Clean. Mine took a lot of body work. but its what i wanted. Just make sure you have the engine to back the look.
Just check the welds, make sure no leaks, and yes you can pay for new pipe and get someone to do the mandrel bends bends for you but, i think you would be spending money for nothing it looks fine. Unless it bugs you that much lol.
I have the same thing on mine, just bent not welded, id buy it. you would be crazy not to for 250, the 3" flange, muffler and flex pipe is worth more then that.
What couplers are you using for the pipe? cheep ebay ones, good ones, Did you replace just the cooler or a kit ? and i would say use a tester and see if there is any leaks
Could we get a little more info ? I would check all connections make sure nothing was missed and your vacuum lines are all on. And you can build a tested for 25 bucks very easy. let us know if you need one
Overheating on the highway sounds like a plug somewhere and are you leaking coolant ? also it could be a bad Rad Cap. remove it and check the seals to make sure everything looks fine. if not replace it anyways. its a 11 dollar cap and i would replace it. its a pressurized system and that can and...
2100 is great for everyday. i would not think you would need a 2600 for everyday and around 300 - 350
And myself i have been looking into the southbend due to what i hear.
Look into vfaq go here Visual Frequently Answered Questions - Home Page and look at the fwd to awd swap you can see what needs to be done. hope it helps, take care and good luck
I am not going to sit and argue with anyone on a forum because it is just worth it, but here is how your charging system worksThe charging output of the alternator is controlled by a voltage regulator which may be mounted inside or on the back of the alternator (internally regulated), or...
check for voltage drops across alternator grd and insulated circuits. With vehicle running turn on all electrical loads; put voltmeter put red lead on alternator output terminal and black lead on positive battery post.test ground circuit by putting red lead on alt case and black lead on...
on a stock engine i would not recommend going over 20, and 550 but if your your running 20 psi i would say 650s, but if your driving at 22 psi and your car is bucking or feels funny, then your getting fuel cut, what are you using for fuel management to adjust your fuel and if your using fuel...
well if you where going to go along with all the work of mounting a supercharger i would also set it up so it runs lets say up to 3500 until the turbo spools and takes over thats the perfect setup. but i have never seen it done to a dsm. i have seen it set up in a few mr2's but best of luck to yea.
the leaks are hard to find. and yes get a compressor and set it for 20 psi, and a spray bottle of soap and water is your friend on this one, spray everything down and watch for bubbles if you dont see any spray each area at least 2 or 3 times you dont always hear slow leaks so best of luck to you.
piping is piping just as he put it, you pay for what you get. the bends may not be the same and may be off slightly or the bolt holes may be off just a bit, not saying they wont work just be prepared they may need some corrections, the piping should be fine but those cheep silicone and T clamps...
i agree i have seen them, right out of the box there is side to side play. now the inter-coolers and piping its kinda hard to mess up polished alum, and even some of the rads are usable, but there is nothing worst then getting everything installed and having to replace it again because it did...
Do a compression test to test the head gasket. if everything tests fine 155 - 165 give or take if it is higher then 165 then you may have oil leaking from your valve guides which will seal the rings and give a higher compression, and if it is Synthetic it will burn white. if everything is fine...
