I do know a lot, rebuilt my 420a and restored a 70 camaro (drivetrain also)
But I'm leaning towards buying one. That way I know it would be starting with a solid foundation, and i could spend my time improving it, opposed to all my time just getting it running again (if I did a swap)
I've researched it but it's still a tossup between doing a complete engine swap (which would be time consuming but fun!)
Or sell mine, and buy a gsx/gs-t (awd isn't a must for me, though I know I would love it)Suggestions? Because I really am on the fence about this one
Seriously, finally got a job offer from Sony this week!
But I've been looking for months, thank god I got my tax return because I wouldn't have made it this far. Can't wait to start messin' around with my car again
So random...
Was just driving home on the 52 when I overtook a raggedy green 2g.
I thought "cool", its always nice to see dsm's still on the road. Anyways suddenly other driver pulls alongside me and motions to show that their interested in maybe making the drive home more interesting...(no...

Floor illumination lights are the ones by your feet (lower kick panel) that turn on when the door is ajar.Gauge cluster: What do you mean replace?
Make a custom one? Or buy a custom one?Make a custom one (can be adapted to dsm):
revlimiter.net - Custom Gauge Faces
Those links are perfect, thanks man!
And I know exactly what you mean about it taking however long it takes... Been working on card for years and learned long ago that murphey's law exists for a reason
So i just turned over 100k in my 2g rs w/ 420a and have still not replaced the timing belt. I always forget to when I havethr thing torn down...How scared should I be?In addition, what should I think about replacing when I take care of the timing belt? (water pump, belt tensioner,etc?)...
98 RS (manual)I can get about 450-480 on a tank if I am REALLY careful. Freeway only, and a real soft touch on the gas pedal. Otherwise 400 is what I am typically looking at.
Retrofit the stock headlights!Take your stockersBake them:Source a pair of OEM HID projectors (Like tsx's)
Mount and install:Bake them back together and mount on car:Then you end up with a great headlight:As for the tails, I say go EDM spec. I love how they look.
The glass guide on the front part of the window (body side, not door side) is getting caught under the glass. When you start to roll it down it POPS! back over it into the correct position.Mine does it every so often, typically when I am shutting the door. Don't know how to stop it.
Removed the gauge cluster. Started to prep it for an LED retro.Oh, and repaired the LED 3rd brake light in my spoiler.
Thing hasnt worked in a year. (Finally have free time to work on the car.)
Mine comes on at E as well.
And is only 10 gallons down.
Light can get annoying that early, but at least I know I'll always have enough to make it to the station.
In the 2g service manual there is a way to read codes without A code reader.
Has something to do with turning the ignition on x number of times
I'll find it later when I'm home if you don't have a scanner or a nice friendly mechanic you're friends with
There isn't a return tube
Only one line running from the thermo housing to the overflow.
The overflow then should have a tube venting away from everything
Took out the entire interior.
Cleaned interior (incl. Steam cleaning the carpet)
Put interior back togetherAnd only managed to have 2 screw left over...haha
When I performed my retro the hi beams ended up not being properly aimed anymore (due to the modification for the low beams.)However they ended up being aimed perfectly for flashing people in their rear view mirrors. I drop back when someone is using non retro'd HIDs in their car and strobe...
+1
it's not even that expensive to do a proper retro
If you don't care about having the best beam/sharpest cutoff/bi-xenon (which they have already proven they don't) then you can get a retro for under 100 bucks
I've got the same car, pm me your email address and I'll upload my service manuals somewhere online and then send you the link.
It's easier than it looks when you have a diagram in front of youOh yea, and as for front to rear ratios, they actually stay the same.
You still want the majority...
+1What started as me fixing the passenger door lock somehow evolved into me rebuilding the engine and can I say how much happier my baby is now?Drives like a dream.Now...time to save for the turbo I've always wanted
In theory, couldn't one also just unplug the clutch interlock sensor?
It's a "normally opened" circuit that switches off to allow th car to start.
Leads me to believe that if you just unplug it (causing the system to register no load) then the car would believe the switch was active (off)
The cutoff is blurry for 3 reasons, my housing lenses are not as clear as I woould like them to be, the projector lens Im using isnt 100% clear (so I dot get that crisp cutoff) and the lens that I have on the projector if from an FX projector so it doesnt have quite the same qualities as a real...
So I started by baking the housings open and ended up looking at thisThe I removed the reflector housing from the rear housing and cut a hole in it large enough to fit a pair of TSX projectors.Gotta love that cutoffOnce I did that i created new mounting points on the...
Hi all, So I just installed an HID kit into my high beams yesterday. Everything went fine, drove around after (still daylight) with them on making sure I wasn't going to blow any fuses/melt any wiring. Then last night I went out driving, got onto a crowded street, and realized that I couldn't...
