Hello! Happy to be back. My first car was a DSM. (98 RS) My second car was also a DSM (97 TSI FWD). I've also owned a 99 GST as well. I've done a lot of learning since those times and had a major foray into Rotary cars, then flipped over to Hondas, and I've been in the Honda game for ~5 years...
The only thing thats changed is that the fuel pump makes it nice little whirring noise. other than that its still followed by the weak clicks after you stop pushing the key.Heres a tasty image of what I found on my starter earlier. Looks good to eat.
Pulled it out and everything is good on the board. Are there any harnesses that go to the ecu in the engine bay I might have missed?EDIT:
I had the engine fuse pulled so I could prime the oil and all that. I put it back in and the check engine light is on now. But the car doesnt start.
I actually never had to disconnect the wires from the starter. So they were never mixed up. And my car is A/T so I dont have a clutch switch. The battery was reading 12.54 volts. But I actually got someone else to turn the key for me. When you let off the key theres a very very very weak click...
I just got done putting my head back on after a rebuild. Timing is good. Starter and relay are good. Battery is good. all the sensors are plugged in. I cant get this thing to crank at all. There is no click from the starter but I've checked it and its fine. Any other suggestions?
16g is tons better than the t25.To control your PSI you need a boost gauge and a boost controller.Suggestions:
New fuel pump and injectors
Boost Gauge and boost controller
I just pulled my head to change out the valve stem seals because my compression was reading 180 across so I figured it wasn't the rings and my car was drinking about a quart of oil per week. Anyway, I pull the head and look at the valves. This is the first time I've ever pulled a head and I'm...
When I start up my car there's always a nice blue cloud that greets me and if I sit at a stoplight for more than 5 seconds the car starts smoking blue smoke. My compression was good:
160-160-170-165We did a wet test and it put the numbers in the 190s and 200s.I'm burning about a quart of...
Jas, I have a 97 auto. Running stock boost on the 14b. Stock smic. From what I've read. Running an fmic on a 14b is pointless so you're good with your stock one or you can upgrade to a supra intercooler. Also, see if you can get the oil return pipe and jpipe for the 14b as well as the oil feed...
We have some souped up v8 chargers around here. They're painted black with no exterior lights. On the side it says sapulpa police in black reflective decals. So you can't even see the police markings unless you're right up next to it or at night shining your lights on it. One of my friends said...
The turbo does have shaft play. Nothing major no in and out. But I just changed to a 14b. The t25 had the same smoking and oil problem and it had no shaft play. I think the turbo is fine. As for the test previously. It was done on a warm engine by my cousins friend. I got a gauge of my own now...
Okay. I just did the test by myself. I had someone else do it last time. But this time i got:160 160 180 180When I did a wet test it went 180 acrossAlso. The car burns through oil like nobodies business.
Hello,
My car smokes at idle and shoots a plume of smoke on startup. As the car idles the smoke returns. It's oil the smoke is blue tinted. My compression is
#1 160
#2 85
#3 160
#4 160So I think it's safe to assume it is #2.Could it be bent valves? I don't have access to a leakdown test...
The install kit won't cost you much if you score with the 14b. If you get the stock short black jpipe you can use that. And if you get the oil return line all you need is the feed line to the side of the block. The only thing you gotta buy is a plug for the original oil feed line off the filter...
Hey Kenny here.
You can check out a tulsa dsm facebook group. TulsaDSM we have like 20 members. And Alex, hey. You work at advance right? Im the kid that lugged around the guy with the blue 1g that isnt running.
I've looked for how to change the wheel studs on a 1G but none of what anyone else has posted helps. I'm trying to change the studs on a 90 Eclipse GS-T. On the front driver's side. People say just hammer them out and put the new ones in but it isnt that simple. Theres a spindle behind the studs...
Has anyone watched this show? It's pretty cool. I wanna know if in the background of the set if there is a red DSM sitting in that pile of junk cars. I sat through 2 episdoes trying to figure it out.
I contacted them about it yesterday and got a response this morning. They said they have no plans, but that they'd forward it to the higher ups. I figure, the more emails we send to em asking for a 3'', the more likely we can get one. :hellyeah:Contact UsFire away!
Here's a vid of one:
YouTube - raceland cutout installed 2009 dodge ram hemi
Sounds pretty good to me. Of course, thats just a cutout. I think I'm gonna order one just to see and I'll get back to you guys on it.
I saw a post on here about a guy that got an XForce Varex Muffler, and said he liked it. They run around 400 bucks. Well, I did some digging and found out a company called raceland has their own version of them. They are only around 60 bucks and I was wondering if anyone has tried one...
Alright, I got my o2 sensor replaced. the car still smokes. I got a good look at it, and the oil is blue tint. so its oil. I check my oil and see its reaaaaally low. So I put some in. After about a week of driving, the oil was reaaaaally low again....
So, my friend bought a 1G today... Clean as a whistle, but its not running. We plan on swapping in a new engine, but I was talking to the guy about what happened....He said he was racing some guy and the oil pressure got too low and the engine just quit. Anyone have any ideas as to what it...
