I know this is an old thread but im getting ready to go with the 2g piston 1g rod combo. My question is can you cut the squirter maybe 1/8th of an inch off for that clearance issue? I really hate cutting anything inside of an engine like that but does anyone see problems with it?

I got a 3 in turbo back that was crush bent from and exhuast shop and it doesnt look like it reduces that much where it is bent. You can tell it does a little bit but that 2.5in should still be fine for your goals.

you can run about 15 lbs with the stock fuel system safely. i wouldnt go any higher than that if i didnt have anything to tune with and bigger injectors/pump

if you have any turbo other than stock, it probally would be a good idea to have a boost gauge at the least. im pretty sure if you connect the boost source directly up to the wastegate, they usually open around 8 psi. if you want to up your boost then you would need a manual boost controller

ebay is sometimes a good place to look for 1g bovs. you can also check out the classifieds on most dsm sites and sometimes you can strike up a pretty good deal on them.

If thats your dailydriver and want it to be reliable, i dont think you should turbo it. It wasnt meant for the extra stress and just like 4g63s, you can see the turbo 4gs and na 4gs use different parts like different compression pistons for example for a turbo setup or na setup.

make sure you have a good blow off valve too before you turn the boost up since the 2g bov leaks at low boost(12 to 15 psi). i would recomend a stock 1g bov for the money

If it was me, i would go with a 14b but thats just me. I like the fast spool and im looking to not boost more than 19 or 20 psi. If your goals are a little bigger then you should go with the 16g. you could just put the 16g on and run stock boost until you get the supporting mods instead of...
