u wAnt something cheap then get a 240 and then get a 5.3 u can get then with harness and accessories for around 500 to 600 bucks and viola...u can even put a small cam in it and get it tuned and make 320 or more depending on cam.....cheap fast and i promise it will drift cause we built...
me and a buddy do powdercoating on the side and we have done several things in so called chrome....we explain it as a polished silver more then chrome. there is a liquid spray that is the same basic process as powdercoating but its alot more expensive....im not sayin it doesnt look good but it...
id say you would be ok because since it is a fresh new motor tere is no carbon build up on the rings yet and if the motor was sealed up then the chances of needing new rings is slim. if it was mine id do like bogusSVO said and re prime the motor with fresh oil then i would just normal grandma...
yea no one on this board has the strenght to break a arp head stud ahahhaha unless u got a 20ft breaker bar and a mack truck maybe lol. just pull like hell man. pb blaster wont hurt the motor and wont do anything anyways because of the oil that is already there but its worth a shot. best of luck...
from what it looks like the compressor housing looks like my 57 trim turbonetics for the dsm. and the exhaust housing looks like my greddy t88 on my supra cause of the bolt pattern but i gotta say the comp turbos look like good turbos. i guess if i got a good enough deal on one id try it out.
yea you cant put 6 bolt rods on a 7bolt crank. as for ring gap i set mine at factory cause mine is a daily driver to kinda and also i am running npr pistons and rings and it didnt come with a sheet.
ok iv never had this problem before. usally mine just slide off then i slide my new one on. waaaaalaaaa its done lol. i can make a video for you guys but it might be a little complicated cause it will be all of 7 seconds long lol.
i would say a set of 280's would be sufficient and go ahead and get v3 full and some 1150cc injectors or so. 1mm oversize valves with matching springs retainers and locks to your choice of cams.
ok well i use the same machine as the one that he just used i assume because the print off looks the same. as for the clunking in the rear you might just have bad bushings. get it on a lift and get under it and see if you can shake anything around or use a pry bar to move things. not saying your...
what do you have your fpr set at. sounds like fuel cut. when it backfires if you let out of the throttle a little will it quit back firing but keep pulling.
ok just to be honest iv put some thought into this and our drive shafts are balanced and even if they are not perfectly level then it doesnt matter. i ean come on being 1 washer off will not affect anything. our driveshafts just like any other flex and trust me 1 or 2 washers wrong or whatever...
yea side to side a little is fine up and down and back and forth is bad. if it was bearings trust me you would know it right away. if all you found was just that little 1 flake then just put oil in it and drive it and keep a eye on it it could have been anything. i dd a car that has had a rod...
yes it can be done my buddy told me about this already being done and i think he read about it on dsmtalk. sounds pretty wicked and it would delete that very very expensive hard to find powerunit for the coil pack.
well if you spun a bearing you dont need to just put bearings in it. you need to have the rods line bored to mae sure there not ovaled or anything and go ahead and put new rings and arp rod bolts. basically just redo your short block.
i would like to find this out as well because i took my driveshaft out and have no clue which way it goes back together i just have everything in the console lol just thrown in there.
like steve said its the same just no knock sensor and oil squirters on the n/a but the compression is different to. other than that its the same but a non turbo 2g will not accept the 4g63 unless you use a evo8 motor and so on.yes 90-94 is 1g 95-99 is 2g so a 4g63 will drop right into any 1g...
do not turn the crank because they are nitrate coated or whatever its called. it is only about 10 thousanths thick so if it cant be polished throw it out and either buy a used one in good shape or a new oem one not a orielys or autozone or whatever crank.
ok well i dont know about them but i have experience with powersteering racks with no pump im doing it right now and i have buddys that do it. just take your line and cross it over so the fluid stays in it and that way the fluid has area to travelso that you dont force the fluid and blow out the...
short shifters are ###. iv had them on mustangs and 1g's and my buddy had one on his 6 speed ls1 car and they suck all you do is tear up transmissions with them. keep this in mind the hand is always faster than the foot. i learned that the hard way. i will never ever ever own another one much...
i put 2 inch drop springs on stock struts yea its a little rough but just stay away from pot holes and speed bumps i like them alot i like the way it rides
yea im with dsmdeliveryboy i think u mean 6 bolt cause if not then that 7 bolt needs to get out of there cause its in the wrong territory 90 thru 92.5 is 6 bolt.
yea let me know exactly when and what not and we were just in franklin the other day well brentwood and didnt see a single dsm there not even a non turbo.
yea go ahead and get it surfaced valves faced and seats reground and valves lapped back in and have your springs checked to make sure there still in spec and new valve stem seals and cam seals. thats should be it. i do everything myself except for surfacing the head as i dont have a machine for...
check the fuse block by the battery and see if it is corroted. you will have to take it off and inspect in and if it looks good then trace the wires down.
that open metal vacuum line looks like its above the rear crossmember by the frewall if so it liiks like it goes to the e-vap canister if so it has to stay open to vent the fuel tank i think.that is is u dont have a e-vap can anymore.
well if you started it and it didnt knock or make any other odd out of the ordinary noise then i would just fix the seal and put fresh oil in it mybe run it for like 500 miles then change it again and keep a eye on it.
ok well since the other 15000 people said the exact same thing over and over except for dude saying get rid of the turbo. tard but anyways just get a stock one and keep it that way and it will be as reliable as your stang. im a v8 guy to but i lovelove love my dsm's. so just keep it stock and...
i doubt it breaking a timing belt destroyed the motor like u said. unless u were beating on the rev limiter when it happened. valves head and maybe pistons. the rods are fine because me personally have not experienced a broke rod in a dsm i bent one into a U lol and not a single crack in...
thats what i think to kind of like changing the brand of oil in a 150k plus mile motor and it spins a bearing no one will cover that except you. i was kind of wondering the same bout this to. are we buying the name or is there a major difference that not obvious.
