Check for a missing bolt in the back of the block. Im not sure what was there, but I was missing it. After a while it spewed oil out on to my front subframe.

I know this is way late, but I did find the problem. I installed the main bearing backwards.

Have you tried Miller Imports? They should have what you need.

That would definitely be from uneven coats. A spray can covers small areas. As mentioned the gun is gonna be the way to go.

Have you checked to see if your still in time? Timing being off a couple teeth would cause low compression.

I have evoIII 16g for ya! It has some shaft play. Very minimal In and out and side to side. Needs a rebuild which isn't hard to do yourself. 300 and its yours

Just remove the door, fender, and rocker panels. That way you can really get a good look at what your really dealing with.

okay finally got to checking the rod bearings and they are showing sever wear. Bearings did not spin ,but show gouging. Also some bearings fit loose in the rod bearing cap.None of them had any abnormal movement, so im not sure if that was the ticking sound.

Mine definitely sounds like its coming from the timing side or behind the right side of the motor. Which led me to believe it was the stubby shaft. Other than that im clueless. I hope somebody has some info here.

Just a quick update for mine. Everything checked out okay on the bottom end.

I just rebuilt my motor and thats the exact same sound im getting. Only mine comes from 2.5k rpm I pulled the oil pan and found very little shavings like your but just a few. Im thinking it might be the stubby shaft backing out. Im gonna verify that in a couple hours

Yea u do have a real tiny leak but it was better than the stock one pouring it out. Im thinking its not draining fast enough and choking up. I will see if i can get a picture of the hole. Its a alot smaller

I just got the same kit, works really well. Now im just having a problem with it not draining fast enough. I seen the ends of the fitting were alot smaller than the openings. Could you possible make it bigger without any effects?

I have two evo propsoprt gauges (oil pressure, water temp) and i have no clue on how to wire these things up.The most that i read on here is how to give them power but not how to wire the sensors in to the gauges.Also where is a good place to tap for water temp sensor?Any help...

NO! a gasket is required. Do not cheap out on something that important. There's quite a bit of vendors on here that have it and can be shipped to you in a couple of days:thumb:

TDC doesn't mean all the valves are closed. It just means the piston on cylinder 1 is at the top of its stroke

Okay im just not sure if this is normal or not, but i just received my NEW ACL tri-metal main bearings. I noticed that the top bearing in the package has a heat spot. Is that common with these bearings or did i just get a bad set? Thanks :thumb:

Im pretty sure he doesnt have to sand it all the way to bare metal.

if you have the tools and patience, you will be just fine.

First find out for sure whats causing the problem. Then if it is, go ahead and replace the whole timing components.
