You will never hit 600whp on a gt30 with an ej motor. Im at 650whp with a 6466 billet ball bearing turbo with my 07 sti on a built/darton sleeved motor reving to 8500. You will need a gt35 and race gas or gt40 to make that kind of power, and a sleeved block. Unless its a ej22t block. Then...
It all depends on your boost level. Mine started leaking at 25psi. My STi has a very similar bov on it and even when crushed it leaked at 22psi. Nothing but TiAL for me.
It could be a few things, check your spark plug gap because it could be blowing the spark out. Next check the coils you may have a weak one. Next do a boost leak test, it sounds to me that you have a boost leak and youre running extremely rich.
The rod was put in a vise it looks like. The rod were over torqued causing the cap to distort. The piston looks like it was hit with something. Nice...... Well one thing he didn't half ass was the block. It was 100 percent rigged up.
It won't hurt performance. Depending on your horsepower levels it could improve it greatly. I've ran 4" off the turbo and right out the bumper. That's like 3ft of piping.
You can't even rev the motor to 8250 on stock cams. With 280s they will be floating at 5000rpms but I say do it. But make sure to pick up another head too.
You could have lost a rocker, valve could be stuck open, burnt a valve, burnt a hole in a piston, lifters collapsed. Pull the valve cover and look for any signs of this on that cylinder.
Most eBay turbos don't last Long. Some make it awhile and then need rebuilt. Sometimes the rebuilds don't hold up. I would say its time to look for another turbo. I wouldn't rebuild it again because In most cases you're wasting your time.
It will be just as accurate as a non dumped gate. This is because you are expelling exhaust gases under pressure which isnt allowing air to enter the exhaust system. So as long as air isnt entering the exhaust system under boost, the a/f reading will be dead on.
The ams balance shaft is made from a stock balance shaft. That's why they ask you to send yours in. They turn it down and balance it. They are made from cast steel with hardend bearing surfaces.
They make external cd drives that plug into the usb port. That's how I use aem ems on my toshiba netbook. It also comes downloaded with xp. Because windows 7 on a netbook kills the speed.
