Mine is relocated. And I have a gm one wire alternator now. A 160 amp. It's just not made to rev as high as I am revving th car. I put a bigger pulley on it which helped a little but still drops volts a little after about 7400 rpm. The evo ones never have that issue
I ended up with a 3.25" ford pulley that fit on well. I'll let you guys know the results when I get back on the dyno this week. It's already on and in the car so I might as well try it. The old pulley was 2 inches in diameter
Has anyone changed the pulley on the gm 1 wire alternator ? Mine is shutting off after 7500 rpm. So I want to put a bigger pulley on. I was thinking a 2.5" or 3"This is the alternator I'm using.

A try and add a ground from the case of the alt. to the body. That solved my problem. Also the ghetto way to make it a little better would be unplug the alternator. You will then have to rev the car every time you start the car to have the alteator start working. But you will gain volts...
I have two pusher fans that worked normally until recently. They both would turn on when the key is turned to run. Now as long as the battery is connected te fans stay on. Any idea why? And how to fix it?

I am switching from a 6 bolt to 7 bolt head. With the heads I got two free intake manifolds. One is a venom and the other is absolutely stock 7 bolt. I have dual springs and retainers, hks272's. but a small turbo for now on around 30 psi. Which manifold should I use?

well since day one of owning my talon, i have lost volts under wot. the car had a speaker wire running from the alternator to the battery fuse. i replaced it with a decent size quality wire at least. new alternator, battery, and fuse. i have actually tried like 4 different alternators. so...

a little update. built and ported head with hks 272 and supertech dual valvespirng and retainers, is now on and running. i let the car idle for 15 mins. im gonna let it cool down check coolant and oil then drive it around the block a couple times and re tq my head studs. then it should be...

what color are the exhaust side ones supposed to be on the supertech valve seals? i just got my head back from a shop and the blue seals are on the exhaust side and the brown seals are on the intake side. is this correct or not? i was under the impression it was supposed to be the other way...

i'm not dissagreeing with anything you're saying. the unpopularity of the 18g and lack of dyno sheets out there are the reason I made this thread. to see if there is anyone out there with some first hand experience with this turbo and supporting mods for it.
based on the stupid link calculations the car is making right around 400 hp right now. i just wanted to know how "bastard dsm" made so much and what little differences his setup has.all and all there is very little solid info on the 18g out there compared to every other "dsm turbo". but...
