thats completely understandable, my mom went through all of this and i know how tough it is
and it is the little things and the actions of the people surrounding you that help alot
im just excited to see her getting better
brad, regardless of what car it is or when
i think everyone would love a video of wendy either, starting her car or even just a video of her excitement level about the car in general.
thanksp.s. if you can pm me wendys favorite song or one of them i have a idea that i would like to...
that is awesome
im glad people like that still exist in this world.
im also more glad to see how much everyone is supporting you and wendy.
if my alternator didnt just fry i was going to donate
sorry :/
hang in there, and im praying for you
i just found your thread and read through the entire thing on my psp..
my heart is with the both of you and im not religous but i WILL pray for such an amazing, inspiring couple.
brad, you and wendy will get through this fine. both of you have the will-power and love needed to come out on top...
sometimes its not always the shifter that is the problem.
check to make sure your clutch is engaging/disengaging fully, and then from there check your clutch pedal adjustment.
tweak that until its to your liking, and from there you will know if it is something else wrong like your shift...
gloss white would work but you never know about the color depth for matching and all that fun stuff
i can check advance by my house they have a good selections of oem matched paint
the dowel pins are horizontally adjacent in the middle of the trans when trans is installed right
they look like inch long smooth round chunks of metal
if you don't care to much about your taillight access housing then id recommend putting a 10 inch sub in the dent where these are
i will post a pic for reference.
i have seen it done and helped a friend finish it up
all you need is..
A. 1ga hood
B. Pop up housing and motors
C. both front fenders from a 1ga
D. pop up relays and or harnessgood luck
pull your bumper off and check for loose bolts that are just sitting in there
and re install bumper and us thread locker(medium grade) to make shure nothing comes loose or rattles
check your clutch fork and shifter cables.. disconnect your shift cables from the trans and shift through all gears if all is well there then id say pop open the trans(if you know what your doin) and have a look at 3rd and 4th gears, their synchros and anything else involving them
i had disconnected just about every sensor under the hood and plug my battery in to check cd player and it was fine
now if you had your engine out and plugged in battery and something shorted your in major trouble lol
im not all that big but my selt beat chokes me too
i went to the junkyard and pulled a middle spot seat belt out of a truck
i just made it the right length and stitched it at that
and i would advise not to cut and restitch the stock belt, it is a safety features for crash purposes
the swap is complete
i have one problem though
the clutch isnt engaging till its almost at the floor
and i cant get into 5th with the shifter cables attached
anythoughts?
i did put a kb50ans trans in but its supposedly the exact same and the spare f5m33 i bought
also now when im moving...
my buddy is selling a bigger SMIC with piping and bov here...."http://www.clubdsta.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=222&st=0&sk=t&sd=a"
and i think in the parts for sale someone else is selling a FMIC setup too
good luck
i chose the f5m33 tranny for a few reasons
a. it is a stronger set up
b. better gas mileage
c. i needed to replace transaxles anyways
d. i got a really good friend price on it allthe swap will be done this sunday, thanks for all your insight guys it did help alot.
:dsm:
id say replace your spark plugs(they are cheap enough to do whenever anything goes wrong)lol
and check and see if any of your plug wires are damaged themselves.
good luck
im not very knowledgeable myself but id would deffinately recommend checking out "clubdstaDOTnet" and ask redleader36, he is very knowledgable and the owner of the site.
he has helped me fix countless problems like this and has never failed to know the answer.
good luck
well if im lucky my buddy who's picking it up for me MIGHT get a spare one for free that just needs the 2nd gear syncro replaced or i can ask him if you can buy it
it will be cheap i kno that much
i dont have a 2g but if i remember right the center dash very bottom button is for either rear foglights (if equipped) or something really pointless
ill take a look at my buddies and find out if no one else knows
id say making 1 good tranny out of 2 not so great ones is your best.
maybe while your doing that replace your syncro's and etc..
as far as the clutch i would say the oem one could hold up just driving around after the tune and hard piping but i dont kno about it taking to much abuse
swapping VIN's is always fun, sounds like a fun project cant wait to see the final product.
check "thedsmgraveyardDOTcom" for the black rear seats and maybe the bracket you need
good luck :dsm:
