Very good work. That has always been my problem, everytime I walk in the garage I see another little spot that no one else will ever see but I will know it is there. Appreciate you disclosing information on the products you used as well. :thumb:Jayson
With everything I have planned for my car I decided it would be beneficial send my harnesses to someone to have them stripped, tucked and redone so I could concentrate on the rest of my build. Needless to say I was wrong. After about six months of this person having my harnesses and sending...
Made good progress on the engine bay over the weekend. Grinded down the excess weld on the unused holes I patched up, sanded and primered to get the engine bay about 90% complete.Received my tubular rear subframe from Paul a couple weeks ago and forgot to take pictures so here is to playing a...
Thanks Josh.Small update, sent a "built" tranny I bought off to TMZ performance for a full teardown to verify what had been done, and to be built to my specifications. Had a few parts come in as well to cushion my stockpile of parts! Thanks, Jayson
I recommend staying away from them because they simply could not verify if a tranny had been at the shop and if any work had ever been performed. I had already purchased it and was going to send it off for a once over and all of that had been explained, I just wanted to know if it had ever been...
Try Tmz performance. He is a member on here and I think he would sell individual parts so you could have you're own shop do it.I would stay away from Jacks, I purchased a "built" tranny from a third party who said it was built by Jacks. Upon contacting them to verify the work they told me they...
Is all of you're boost and vacuum lines to turbo, from turbo, waste gate (if external) etc. connected correctly? Probably a dumb suggestion, but more often than not, it's the simple B.S.Jayson
The windshield was broken so I had a little fun using a hammer with that one. The quarter windows and hatch I removed using a putty knife and guitar string, mind you it was not easy in any aspect.
I don't plan on putting glass back on the quarters, I have something different planned for those...
Well alot has been happening in my little world which has been somewhat slowing my progress and definitely my updates on here, but i do have a little bit to share this evening to somewhat bring it up to date.
After completely welding in the roll cage, I decided I was not happy with the end...
I know for sure that I will not be grinding them down to fit, I'm still exploring the options.
The brand of undercoating is Rustoleum, if I had any cans left I would take a picture of it for you.Jayson
Was able to complete the passenger side wheel wells and the underbody. If I recall correctly, I think I used a total of 14 cans of undercoating, an unbelievable amount of wire wheels and sandpaper to complete the entire process.
Also to show, is my VC with welded AN fittings. Will be shipping...
This past two weeks and weekend turned out to be very productive despise the 100 degree weather. Did the finishing touches on the roll cage except for the dash bar which is the only piece I lack. Waiting for my project dash to show up so I can figure out the best spot for the bar. Went ahead and...
The charcoal canister is in the engine bay below the battery. You don't need to get into the gas tank to do anything. All I did with that line in the engine bay is put a one way valve on it so the fumes could escape below the car.Jayson
Felt like I got quite a bit accomplished over the past week. Made good head way on the cage and also got a good part of the underside of the car cleaned up specifically where the driveshaft goes. It's not completely cleaned but it is a start.
Onto the pictures
JaysonGot the majority of...
Took care of a few more trouble spots today.
Also something else that has bugged me since day one of owning this car is the 3 million pounds of body filler that mitsubishi thought would be a good idea to use and just caked that crap on there. I removed quite a bit of it today and smoothed out...
Sucsessfully removed the residue from the hatch space and the remaining sounddeadning from passanger area.Removed the remaining weatherstripping from windshield surface, prepped and primered the area for paint.JaysonTook care of a few trouble spots today that had some surface rust (hatch...
Got each of the wheel wells fully cleaned and primed which leaves me with the actual undercarriage to tackle next.Cut out the spare tire well, and prepped it for the blockoff plate to hold the fuel cell. Thanks, Jayson
Tackled the passanger side wheel wells today as well as the quarter windows. Little more to do on the wheel wells then it will be time for some primer.Jayson
Dang man. You really should have posted that video before you bought it. Hope you are really good with body work or have friends in the business. Judging by the rust on that strut tower that you stuck your finger through, makes me wonder about the under side of that thing.
Welome and Congrats...
I had started to mess around with the harness but no, I did not have a full tuck done. That will be taking place along with the rest of the build.Jayson
Well,After quite a bit of thought I have decided to truly start from the ground up, something I have wanted to do for a few years now. While I did not take many pictures of the dissambly, you can all imagine how it went. As of now, the only thing that is left on the unibody is the windows...
Got my new to me main engine harness in the other day and have started to strip it down to make the necessary modifications to it.Fuse box and harness should be here in a few days so I can finally undertake the fuse box relocate to glove box project.Jayson
No sir. Just pop a couple of the zip tie clips out of the body, remove the fuse box bracket and your set.* Beware, you will end up with excess wire harness just laying out in the open which might not look so good unless you can tuck it away somewhere. Only reason I did it is because I am...
