Trboblu - 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD

I have been contemplating purchasing one of their harnesses for my 2g. I like that fact of brand new wiring and connectors to hopefully eliminate wiring issues down the road. I think I may buy it after the holidays. How long did it take to receive it?

Any HX40 users in the 9s?

Mine will be on the 16cm T3 twinscroll housing. Hopefully that will not be a limiting factor for me.

Any HX40 users in the 9s?

I've followed your car for a long time now. I absolutely love how well it performs!I have a 7 blade billet wheel hx40 right now and I really want bottom 10s or high 9s.

Any HX40 users in the 9s?

I am curious if anyone besides (TalonDave) and (Richard33) has ran anywhere in the 9s on an HX40? I am trying to decide if I should go bigger or rock the Holset.

Post your non black Painted Block

Well I am going to go ahead and pull the trigger with painting mine purple. Hopefully it's not too much! I will post pictures when I finish it up.

Post your non black Painted Block

Reviving an old thread! Has anyone painted their block purple? I am going with the purple theme on my magenta gray pearl 2g and want to see how a purple block looks before painting it. I am almost afraid of it being too much purple.

Oliver Rods/ Wiseco HD Pistons (Won't Fit)

My engine is at the machine shop right now getting cleaned up and assembled. I received a call yesterday stating that the small end width of the Oliver rod is to big to fit into the Wiseco HD piston. The width of the rod measures at 1.110" and the opening of the piston measures at 1.107". My...

    Project 8 seconds/2,000lbs 2g Talon TSI Utah

I remember following this build, then I forgot all about it. I happened to stumble across it again yesterday. That is disappointing that it got parted out, but I understand it.

1G Piston to cylinder wall clearance

I am in the process of having my engine built as well. I decided to go with .005" PTW clearance and rings gaps of .021" (top) and .023" (bottom). My hopes are to be around 550-600hp.

I am really enjoying following this thread! You have a very similar build to mine, except I am rocking a 2g. Good luck and can't wait to see some more updates!

How to deck a 4G63 Cast Iron Block

He did show me a block that he broached. It looked shiny, but you could see the cut marks on the deck. It was pretty smooth, but your finger nail would very lightly feel the cut marks if that makes sense? Should I have him try to set it up on his milling machine that they use for heads?
  15. pindlepiper

How to deck a 4G63 Cast Iron Block

I am wanting to run a Felpro Permatorque MLS head gasket on my current build. My block and head are at the machine shop right now getting inspected. The machinist stated he used a mill for the heads and a broach for the blocks. The head surface seams extremely smooth and shiny, where the block...

Oliver, Pauter, or Manley I Beam Rods?

It seems everyone runs the Manley Turbo Tuff I beams, but they also appear to be the heaviest of the rods as well. I think I may give the Olivers a try. I am assuming I can't go wrong with any of these choices though.
  17. pindlepiper

Oliver, Pauter, or Manley I Beam Rods?

I would like to be around 550awhp with an auto. I want room to grow so overkill is fine with me. I don't see many people on here that run Oliver or Pauter so it is hard getting much feedback.
  18. pindlepiper

Oliver, Pauter, or Manley I Beam Rods?

My 6 bolt block is at the machine shop right now and I need to decide on what rod I want to run. I will be running Wiseco HD 10.5CR pistons too. Out of these three, what would you recommend? I think I might be leaning towards Olivers as they seem to be a little lighter.

Aluminum Rods for a Daily Driver.

Also interested on any updates! I'm trying to decide between turbo tuff "I" beams or R&R aluminum rods.

Bradco converter VS. Stock converter dyno numbers

    2G Restalled Torque Converter

I am trying to decide what route to take when it comes to the torque converter. I'd like to be able to build boost without using nitrous. The car is a weekend street car 99% of the time. My thoughts are a stock restalled converter from Florida Torque Converter, but then again I am worried it...

Pro-King or Recon torque converters any good?

    2G Torque Converter Seal

Advanced auto sells a new torque converter for $135, would that be fine to run and hold power, or should I just take this one to a transmission shop?

    2G Torque Converter Seal

This is my first time messing with an automatic transmission. I have a used torque converter I was cleaning up and getting ready to install on the transmission. As I was getting ready to pour ATF in, I noticed some kind of seal that didn't look right in the torque converter. Is this supposed to...

Garrett & Holset Turbo Users - Your Oil Drain May Be Too Small!

So is a 2g return acceptable to run with an hx40 setup? Being that it is 17+mm?
  30. pindlepiper

    Counterfeit Holset Turbos

Bought this and was told it is an HX40. There is no tag on it and I can't seem to find much with Google. Is it a legit Holset, and is it a legit HX40? I measured the inducer at 59.97mm. I have called numerous Holset distributors and not one can pull any of those numbers up in their system.

    Questions for Justin...

Justin,I am wanting to go with a HX40 setup. I am having a hard time finding a good/new Holset HX40 for a decent price. I found a brand new OEM Holset CHRA cartridge 3535324 for $125. At this point all I would need is a compressor housing and BEP turbine housing correct? I am having trouble...

    2G Strut tower rust [Merged]

Me and a friend just did this to my 2g a few months ago. The passenger side was the worst with a 1" by 3" rust hole after picking at it and the driver side had a spot a hair smaller than a dime. We cut all the rust out, he welded in new metal, and I used POR15 on the top and bottom of the...

    Auto Kiggly Flexplate Bolts

    Auto Kiggly Flexplate Bolts

I am looking to see if these ARP flexplate to crank bolts will work without modification on a 6 bolt engine mated to a 2g auto transmission. I am using the Kiggly 6 bolt in a 2g auto kit. I already purchased 4 converter bolts off of kigglys website. Here is the link to the flexplate bolts...

    Delta Cams

I am looking for something around a 264 as these are going in a 16g auto car. From researching around that is what it seems to be. I emailed them a few weeks ago and again last week as well as calling, but I am sure they are just busy.

    Carpet Slides Around....Need Fix

I took out the carpet in my 2g to clean it and it was absolutely disgusting. Once i removed it, i noticed the driver floor board had a lot of surface rust on it. To fix this i roughed everything up and thoroughly cleaned the entire floor and used POR15 on it. I soaked my carpet in simple green...

Rock auto doesn't sell OEM parts though. Mitsparts.com is by far the cheapest for OEM parts. I do try to support JNZ Tuning a lot as well though. Either place has been great in my experience.
