All natural? Since when?If you want all natural its green and you smoke it. Just sayin. On topic I chewed redman daily for a few years untill I started drinkin and thats when the cigs got in the way. Still crave a smoke every time I turn one up.:coy:
After reading all this bickering I think im gonna be on the hunt for a geo metro. 302 that POS and piss everyone off. Maybe a 4g swap if the bay is too small for a 302But at the end of the day, its still a honduh
Thats a must. Sounds like my old 1g.Also like the driver slash mechanic. But before anything is done with the dsmtuners.com logo you need to talk to chris. :thumb:
Need help with how to test a MAF. Its on a 92 GS. Every time I start the car with it plugged in the cars spits sputters and dies. If I unplug it she runs fine. Have tried other MAFs with the same results. I'm not driving the car till this is fixed so any help is greatly appreciated. :thumb:
Just to let you guys know here is how I prepped it.1. Aircraft remover and wire brush
2. Super clean followed by acetone with gloves and care to keep surface clean
3. High heat primer in 3 light coats allowing 20 mins between coats for drying.
4. High hear rust-oleum 1 hr after primer. 3 light...
I had it down to bare metal. Also used acetone. Thanks for the warm water tip. One thing I dont like about rust-oleum it the wide white tip. Supposed to help finger fatigue but I say thats a crock. Id rather have a regular old tip than that thing
Do you think rebuilds are free? Do you get paid every day? Are you living in your parents basement spending every last dime you make on your car? What part of I JUST finished a rebuild do you not understand? It ate up all my extra spending money for the month. By the time it comes time for an...
Look if you guys cant stay on topic leave the thread. I asked nothing about powder coating. I asked to hear other peoples experience with it. If I want to spray bomb every part on my car I will. Its my car not yours and I don't need your off topic opinion. So take your BS and go nag some newb...
You wanna pay it for me? I just finished my build and don't have the extra $65 to get it powder coated. And I didnt wanna look at the horrible paint that was on it. :banghead:
It was the engine enamel.I used the dupli-color and it looked perfect for over a year till I sold the motor. Also The paint its self was not on metal. Its on engine enamel Primer
Anyone else used this junk. I did my valve cover and let it sun bake 3 days in a row. First day it was on the car and was up to operating temp it wrinkled up and looks like shizzz. I used the dupli-color in the past for my valve covers and it worked great and never did this but I figured I would...
Your a few months too late. I used to go to Durham every weekend to help a friend do some work. Haven't been lately though. If the items aren't too large, I'm sure he would cut you a deal on combine shipping.
In the end. Its worth every bit of the headaches. Just do it right the first time. Eventually you will have no problems and the satisfaction of knowing everything is done right.
Head Gasket. OEM. All other gaskets fel-pro is fineHead studs: OEM or ARP.Timing belt and components: OEM or GatesSkimping on any of these parts will make for a bad day in the near future. Do it right the first time and you will come out a lot cheaper in the end.Water pump. What ever you...
If your budget allows I would go with a rebuild. Proper machine work, bearings rings, gaskets, seals and whatever upgrades such as BSE, pitons ect. No telling how hard the previous owners have been on it or if its been over heated.
Are you getting a CEL? Also make sure your oil pan is not dripping oil onto the downpipe. You should be able to hear exhaust leaks. Or run a small amount of seafoam through it and watch for smoke leaking out.
Post in the site feedback/problems im sure the mods/admins can help with the retrieval of your old name.As mentioned above make sure you do all maintenance first. It is key to a good reliable car. And will save you tons of headaches in the future.
I live 10 min from his shop. If your in need of more than one thing its by far worth the trip. You could drive in with a car missing every other piece and leave with a complete car, money in your wallet and the joy of knowing a great guy with great prices. He goes by Stangmurdera on the forums...
No CEL Until it warms up which i think is being caused by a bad O2 sensor. I wanna make sure there is no other possible fix before I spend money on the MAS
Need some opinions from you guys. Rebuilt a 92GS and if the MAF is plugged in it runs like crap. Spits sputters backfires and wont idle. If I unplug the MAF it runs like a charm. I know it is not good to run with the MAF unplugged but what could cause this? It worked fine on the car before the...
Is the 94 a 6 or 7 bolt? If you use the 90 harness you will need the 90 Cas, coil, power transistor and ecu. Also not sure but you may need the 90 throttle body too
I have tried it in both 180* and I have the light I just have to get it to stay running to set it. Im pretty sure its not the CAS but I wasnt going to eliminate it because I bought it used and never had it on a car till now. I did a pressure test to check for vac leaks and got nothing. I know...
Just finished a 6 bolt build on a 92gs. Got everything back together and when I started it up it idled up like it should then started spitting and sputtering until it died. It will not idle on its own but if I keep it running with throttle it will run but very rough with a lot of sputter and...
A lot of the stuff he has is not listed on the site. Make sure to give him a call. Every time I go there(every couple days lately) he has a new car in there. If you need something for a 2g he has it.
Looking for the 91-94 throttle body gasket on autozones website but cant seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated im trying to get the 1g fixed today
Trust me it is defiantly worth the trip. Stephen is a great guy and will NOT do you wrong. I have been selling/trading and getting parts from him for a while now. He has a shop full of DSM and parts. Id say he has 15-20 2gs. Its a DSM gold mine. Mostly 2g but he also has a lot of 1g parts. He is...
Let it warm Up to operating temp then take in out and do a few hard pulls. Dont go rag on it but dont be easy on it. The purpose of a hone is to file the rings properly for best seat. If your too easy on it the hone will were down before the rings seat properly resulting in lower compression...
The CAS being 180 out will not keep it from running. It will just run rough. The CAS controls fuel and spark. Pull the cas and rotate it by hand with ignition on.. You will hear the injectors click. Do this slowly to see if they are all 4 firing. Was the car a 6 bolt before the swap or did...
If you packed the oil pump gears with either grease or vaseline and Installed new pickup tube gasket with rtv I would guess you havent turned it enough to get the oil through. It takes a while with a drill so Id guess it takes just as long or longer by cranking.
Did you makes sure the oil holes...
Honda parts on a dsm? I think not. Use the proper radiator for the car. There is a temp sensor in the radiator that works the fans doubt your gonna find that on a honduh. Also If you have cooling problems because of a FMIC and a/c condenser I have put valve springs between the hood and hood...
My guess is your exhaust is hitting somewhere when the motor twist from the torque. If its only 1 clunk when you throttle it in neutral I wouldn't worry. Check and see if the hanger for your down pipe is connected.
Read the link posted above.Use a cheap filter and cheap 30 or 40 weight oil.Let the car idle until up to normal temp. Then take the car out and do a few hard 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. This doesn't mean go tach it out and do burn outs.
If you build a lot of engines and do compression test on...
If I was you Id try to find someone local that knows how to do the job. That way you can help/watch them do it. Its the best way to learn and you get the car fixed too. If its in your budget id go ahead and rebuild with new bearings, rings, gaskets, seals and a BSE. Also ahead and do a full...
