What about shaft play? Try using more fuel in this situation its a very very rare problem even with boost leak i still built boost at 4k-4.5k . What pump are you using maybe not enough fuel to compensate for the boost. How about a vaccum leak? im running through troubleshooting. Maybe not having...
Change that injector. Or rewire the connector it has happened to me. The worst thing is having a miss because of an injector after wasting time checking for boost leaks or other problems. Just change the knock sensor and check your injectors. Then see where it goes from there.
well i will describe the noise the best i can ....... it is like a louder lifter tick but it is coming from the head and it is a LOUD tick or knock.....but i was looking at my timing belt cover and you can see where the belt has been rubbing on it....but how would i check my crank pulley?

Okay I got my 1g running for all of 30 seconds and it died and didnt want to run again i am having to push start it because my starter is not correctly wired so..... we pushed started it and well it ran and had a bad tick like there is no oil in the head but it was sitting up for about 2 years...

okay well its a 12mm 12 point socket and you have to loosen them all up and make sure that they are loose because i went through this just like you bud but i learned quick that you have to pick the bolt up and pull it out as it is up

yes i am positive it is a boost leak probably a major boost leak that you cant hear without testing it but just test it and if anything i would blame it on your injectors
yes it was worth it but towing it back was not the smartest idea if your buddy knew anything about awd cars you would have trailered it in the first place that is why your diff is messed up and probably your t-case but i am not trying to insult him but it has a big orange sticker in the door...
