It's about an hour away. Went to look at it. Guy is second owner. it's got about 87K miles on it. Has receipts for CPS, TOB, slave cylinder, clutch, blown headgasket, (running hot on the highway, head was milled). It has a K&N sticker on the airbox, and there is a Greddy turbo timer. The...
Looks like the old coolingmist check valve. If you are looking for something cheaper, the cumminsforum.com has some info on cheap check valves, but don't remember from which site.
Been looking for a 98-99 GST, and not having much luck for the past few months, so I moved on to checking out Cobalt SSs and Ion Redlines. I found one listed in Morehead with a rebuilt engine, 16g, 3" DP, blah blah. I want to go check it out, but despite the length of time I have been on DSM...
The damage is not about corrosion, it's about particles hitting a fast moving object.I don't think the oxidation is as big of a problem as some "chemists" make it out to be. If you are that worried about it, start with washer fluid so the blue dye coats everything, and then run the regular stuff.
I bought a Devil's Own kit because the first owner did the OKGPC shift kit on my car, and the current owner helped diagnose my MAF. For meth, go to autozone, and order thisValucraft/1 gal. -20 degrees Fahrenheit windshield washer fluid (WW20) | Windshield Washer Fluid | AutoZone.comTell...
I did regular and meth with my DD for several years, again without problems.I don't plan on skating the thin line. Never really been that hardcore, especially on a DD. I just like the idea of keeping things clean, having a cool intake tract, and low EGTs. Call me easily amused...
If I were building a DD DSM right now, with only 1 E85 station in 50 miles, I would install a meth kit with a failsafe. Use Ceddymods map switch for problems, be done. I ran it on a beater for 2 years, and the only thing I lost was an IAT at the beginning as I was being stupid. Buy a good...
Keep the lid on and you should be fine. Keep it out of the sun. I found the container I used to keep it would expand in the sun. It wasn't pure methanol, so I don't know if it was the meth, or the water expanding, but the pressure might give way to problems.

Since I started the thread, I thought I should post mineOld 100 psi DO pump with 150 psi top

Just learned that there is a front tank for the 2GNT. My questions are1. What is the capacity of the 2GNT and the turbo tank2. Can the 2GNT be mounted in a turbo model?
Benefit of progressive is being able to tune flow, and turn on. You can run more nozzle than with an on/off kit. Meaning for example an m10 might choke your engine if you turn it on at 5 psi, but using the progressive controller, you can turn it on at 15% at 5 psi, and have it full blast at 20...
DSM, I think that running some methanol with the water would help reduce the surface tension of the water and make it distribute better. Aquamist had a graph showing the surface tension of water in relation to the added methanol.
Liquid, as long as there is no intercooler in the mix, then there needs to be some meth. Whatever the book says, my IM is proportionally cooler to the amount of methanol in the mix. I don't inject that far from the IM, about 2 inches before the TB because of the TMIC i have. Without an IC and...
I think that you two are missing each other in locations. Methanol has a lower rating, which means that it will phase change with less heat. This usually means that it is not phase changing in the combustion chamber, but in the pipes. Water, with it higher rating, needs more heat, a lot more...
yeah, I thought so too. WOndering what a custom manifold and an bigger than vq37 turbo would do for me? Probably not much. Can't find anyone in the US who even knows what a vq37 is, aside from the engine.
On the car it will be used on, it's less than a foot. It goes manifold, turbo, o2 housing. It may be a foot from the farthest runner to the o2. I am doing the egt only because it comes free with a review from 14point7.com wideband setup. I just want to get relative temperatures for water...
I am going to be installing a wideband, and will probably be using the narrowband output to feed the computer. Can I simply install an adapter that converts to 1/8 NPT to install an EGT gauge? I am wondering if they are available, and what the adapter would need to be made from
