I tried to read most of the comments but I got tired of the arguing. the head from a 420a will fit a ptgt 2.4 block. They are the same, just reversed. If you need more info goto Darrel Cox Racing they reversed the head on their Redsled
Nice evo3 you have there. You should post some pictures at calgarydsm.com, you might get lucky with some used parts also from there to keep costs down.
Welcome to the forums and congrats on the avenger. I used to have a 95 2.0 with 5spd, thats one car I miss. If you ever decide to redo the block, the neon srt4 pistons/rods will fit with some work(great if you want to go turbo, stoker almost) talk to the guys over at DSMGraveyard for more...
The car is a beast... Its bin a while since ive looked at this thread. Keep up the great work and it will be interesting to see what happens with the e98
Im looking at buying a new tranny from the states and im wondering what the total cost will be. Mostly the duty charges once it crosses the border. If anyone could give me some insight that be great
I dropped off a block last month at a shop for my galant vr4 (6bolt) and im at the simple price of 1200. Thats for .20 over, cleaned block, balanced internals, crank cleaned the refurbished and no head work. when all said and done, im looking at the price of 4500 for a complete motor. I could...
If you can get them rebuilt, look into getting them done. The odds are you wont find much better for the price. I just bought a vr4 and got some Zeal coilovers. I did some looking and found they are about the best i can get for money wise. Just have to send them in now to get rebuilt also
im waiting patiently, too see more compound prOn... The more i keep reading up on other compund setups, the more im wanting to try one out also... If i do go this route I think ill try a tc feeding air to a sc. It seems to be a popular way for the v8 crowd
Not to go too far off topic, but has anyone ever tired a different proportioning valve? Say like one from Jegs or Summit? you might have to make new lines or modify the old ones to work, but it could be done
i think the vfaq is dead, but not sure... anyways i found this, hope it helps only took 10 minutes to do some searching...From what i know, you will need to find a non abs car. FWD or AWD and just get the front lines and proportioning valve, the back lines are the same from what ive read
This June will be my one year anniversary for owning a dsm(91talon tsi auto) drove it 40min to home and parked it. I knew right from buying it, on how much down time there could be, and yet I still bought it for a toy. Its that or buying a new comp or some other crap i dont need for the...
very nice constant runs you are doing. Car looks great also and I love it more that its a auto. I bought a 91 auto just for the reason of racing.
Get in the car, start motor, stage, foot on brake and other on gas. Wait for 3rd yellow, left foot off of brake and mat the gas pedal and enjoy...
I just received in the mail a Magnus intake, 6 days to get to me :hellyeah: Any parts that ive looked at from local stores would take more time due to it not being stocked and its a special order since its for a 4g63. And with shopping on line you can usually find good prices and have a way...
What are you looking for? Mopac has limited products for talons and dsms. For example, BC 280 cams they list around 500. I did some looking on line and can find better brand cams for cheaper, with shipping. If you dont mind wait times for shipping youll probably find better deals on line
A bit off topic, but a few months ago i was talking with the guys over at dsmgraveyard and they were telling me about a frankenstien srt4 neon rod/piston(stock) for the 420a. Im not sure if they have gotten anything done yet, but give them a call, you might get lucky. On a sidenote, if they...
I dont blame you for getting a pre assembled one. The new diypnp 52pin doesnt come that way yet... So im going to be building it myself, I might try to find someone to do it, but im not sure yet.
My soldering skills are okay, so im hoping it wont be too bad. Ive done a few small bread...
this is my first dsm, I bought it as a bday gift for to myself. I bought it in June08 and i started to strip it down a few months ago. Now im just waiting for deals to buy parts and im hoping it will be back onthe road for this years bday
Yup pistons are out of the block, waiting to go in a fresh block in new year.To donniekak thanx for that tip, my boss actually owns a airplane, going to talk to him tomorrow and see if he has any (methylene chloride)stripper around.
Now before anyone bashes me on not looking for info, I have read all the posts that are for pistons in the block(carbon build up i searched for) :aha:That being said could i still use seafoam and soak the pistons over night? From what i know it works best with motor running, but what do i...
For next year, be ready for him to swipe the cookie again. And leave a note for him, saying that Santa knows who took the cookie and that is a no no and you get one less present or give him a lump of coal for shits and giggles
Not sure how much my info will help ya... But darrel coxx racing did a srt4 with twins, called the HotRod. try looking up on that one and see if there is anything you can get for info, there should be a few youtube and streetfire vids of it.
grats onteh skittle. Take some time reading up on the srtforums, there is alot of stuff you can do. dont bother getting s1 injectors, go for s2/3 for a bit more $ As for traction look for solid motor and tranny mounts. and there is a product that will help in not spiniing your tires, called...
srt4's are a blast and they can take a shitload of abuse too before they pop. The stock engine has bin known to go 500hp and a bit more in some cases.
I own a ptgt cruiser with a 2.4l turbo, and that is a real sleeper. Ive seen too many people wtf when they think they can get by me easily...
