Ok i have done the dumbest thing i could have done so far on my talon. I painted my valve cover and while putting it back on i stripped the middle bolt hole on the back of the valve cover toward the intake mani. I can tighten the bolt to an extent then it goes back to being loose if i go too...
I've heard a lot of measurements for spark plug gaps in turbo dsm's. .28 .32 .34 ????
Which gap is best for low end power? Ever since i've put on my downpipe i've seemed to lose low end power. i'm running bpr7es's and i'm gonna throw in some brr6es's bust i wanna know that best gap for low...
I have replced this belt 2 times since it started squeeling and each time i replace it it last 2 weeks until the squeeling starts again. It only squeels alot when the lights are on and i cold start it. But it always squeels just a tad when the lights are on and i'm moving from a stop. My volts...
Ok what is a safe boost level on a stock t25 with 1g bov, brode uicp, intake, and cut dump tube, and joe p mbc. I was thinking 15psi but some say thats too unsafe.....
thanks for the link to the boost leak test.. ive been meaning to make one...I wanted to add another thing that concerns me about the car stumbing at around 3k rpm. I smell gas and even something burning if I press the gas while its in neutral. Also when the car is in idle i see like a...
i changed the fuel filter, plugs and wires..whats the easiest way of going about the boost leak.. i swapped the uicp and the bov to see if the leak was around there. same shinz........ what i wanna know is if the transmitter can cause this problem? because when i changed the tps i...
I bought a 99 eclipse gst about 5 months ago thinking the reason it hesitates or bogs at around 3000rpm is because a cheap ebay bov was on the car and was not even tightened properly. Any how i put in a real hsk bov, then went to stock. someone suggested fuel problems so i changed the...
Well i finally got it fixed!!! I brought it to AMS which happens to be very close to where i live. I got it fixed for under $100, pretty amazing. They did a great job because it doesn't leak anymore. However now may car needs an alignment badly. Now how would this screw up the alignmnent? When i...
Yeah well i thought it might not be coming from the seal a while back but it's very obvious it's the seal. I can lay under my car and spin the axle and see it drip out. Not to mention that the axle is spitting the fluid all over the place and there are no signs of leakage above the axle.
It's only full to as much as the filler plug will allow. Your always supposed to fill up to the filer plug. I didn't damage the seal at all while installing it. It's a pretty solid piece, it seems pretty difficult to damage. I tapped it in all the way but i hear from some people that you should...
Well i replaced the seal. The hardest part was getting the new one in. I put it all back togther, filled the tranny up and took it for a test drive. I pulled back into my garage and look underneath the car to find a drip building up on the bottom of the tranny!!!!!!!!! Wht the hell is wrong...
Well since i do have a fwd i guess needing the output shaft seal was out. Thats all autozone had in their computer. I know i need to replace the passenger side axle seal but is there possibly another name for it? Also when my axle seal was replaced last my buddy removed those seals very easily...
Ok well i've decided to get down and dirty and do it myself, but i have to do it this friday. I do have two questions. First i bought a timken seal from autozone because it was only $5.50 and mitsu want more than double that and they had to special order it. Anyways the guy at autozone had...
Yeah i'm debating doing it myself but i know the axle is not coming out from the hub so i have to do exactly what suicidal2af said. I called mitsu today. They said atleast $200 if it's not apin getting the axle out of the hub which i know it will. I know it takes 20 minutes tops on a lift but i...
Ok well I had both my axle seals replaced about a year ago when i had my clutch installed. The right passenger one was leaking so my buddy and i replaced both. BTW my buddy owns a shop where he also replaced my clutch flywheel and installed my lsd. Anyways i noticied that later on down the road...
Well the factory motor that comes stock in the 95's are a 7 bolt motor which gets it's name from the amount of bolts on the flywheel. In stock format they were the most powerful out of the dsm motors because of the higher compression ratio, but as we all know they also have a dark side to them...
Well i hope my motor is ok and I didn't stress out anything. My motor has been amazing since i've bought the car. I feel so lucky that i bought a good dsm. I change the oil religiously ever 3k with mobil one and a mitsu filter. I seem to think my car is a freak because yeah it has 83k and it's...
I was coming back from work today. I had a long day 11-8pm. Anyways i was just cruising back and this fool with a 6 cylinder mustang with a dual exhaust starts driving like his car is somewhat fast. Anyways i was looking more towards the way of the C5 with an exhaust. Anyways the C5 sees me and...
A 2600 on a fwd??? No thanks. My 2100 holds up just fine and it will hold a good amount. of power I personally wouldn't run a 2100 on an awd but for fwd it's perfect. I have seen 2100's on 11 sec awd work just fine for a long time. It all depends how abusive the driver is. For starters i didn't...
Damn i wish this post would just end. The whole post is sort-of ironic to me. Almost everyone on here that is bashing ACT drives a 2nd gen which is obviously notorious for the 7bolt crankwalk. Why did you guys decide to buy a 2g when knowing it could possibly have crank problems? Why didn't you...
Ok i just sucked up an entire can of seafoam and did the whole process. I have yet to change my oil but i don't think it will harm the oil anyway. I did notice a small leak in my exhaust manifold gasket. After i ran the seafoam and cleared all the smoke I noticed a big difference in the...
Ok i just replaced my coolant yesterday along with my spark plugs and fuel filter. I noticed today that i'm leaving large puddles of coolant everywhere. My stock ring clamp is not tight enough and is leaking coolant right by the filler cap. Now i didn't think it was related but i found it very...
cool...now how do i get a spring or order one? I've never taken one apart and seen the spring so is this a piece i can get from any hardware store or do i have to order this from greddy?
Ok i did a boost leak test the other day and noticed that my greddy bov leaks very bad very quickly. As soon as i apply any pressure to the system it starts leaking through the valve. I tightened the bov and it still would leak, so i eventually tightened it all the way and it still leaks. I know...

I did a boost leak test and found one minor one and fixed it. A vacuum hose connected to the intake manifold was leaked so i put a clamp around it and it's fine. I tried to chnage my fuel filter the other day but i ws unsuccessful. The bolt wouldn't break loose even with pb spray on it. It...
Ok I've searched and searched and i can't find anyone with the exact same problems as me. For the past 3-4 months i've been having some major idle issues with my car. When it was cold outside my car would act really funny. On a warm startup my car would idle really low and shake like crazy...
Ok well i noticed that i have two minor leaks in my catback. On of the leaks is between the cat and the downpipe. I bought a megan racing downpipe off ebay and it fit almost perfectly except the flange was welded slightly crooked at and when bolted to the catback it leaks. I also noticed that...
I have a BM lsd insert in my car and it's supposed to be the strongest one on the market because of the stiffer springs. It does work and it does make both wheels spin instead of one but i'd still rather have a quaife instead. The difference between an lsd insert and a real clutch type lsd is...
I really don't think it has anything to do with being fwd or awd. Sure awd puts more strain on a clutch but if you look around there are more modified awd's than fwd dsm's.
I honeslty don't think that the three rivets holding the hub to the friction plate is a contributing factor. I do agree that they probably made a bad batch for some dsm's. But the percentage of dsm's that received that bad batch is so small. It seems larger than it really is because there are a...
It's funny b/c i did notice the other day that i ran over a bag right infront of walmart and it never came out the other side. It completely wrapped itself around the flex setion of my downpipe. There are still plastic beads molded to my flex section. Hopefully it will all burn off evetually...
That was the first thing i checked and i noticed that nothingwas rubbing. To answer the second question i DO have a heat shield on my exhaust manifold.
