some exciting stuff is happening! For the first time in a long time the car is back on the ground! Borrowed @goonie90gsx wheels to roll around on so this thing can get loaded up into the trailer for a field trip up to BS Fab for a manifold! In doing so I had to finish making my steering column...
My car has been pushed to the back burner from doing side work. We(Brandon and I) just wrapped up this cage in this b-e-a-u-tiful evo. This is a full street car with full interior, heat and all. Next up Brandon will be painting the engine bay since its dull and faded and this ones outta here...
The intercooler will be mounted on the bottom with 1" chromoly tube, that's the main intercooler support. The top intercooler mount is basically there to strengthen up the rest of the steel rod
Busy weekend but I managed to sneak away for a few and got the bumper center support all wrapped up. Working on lower intercooler mounts then radiator mounts next
Thank you! It's something I've always wanted to do as well. Unbolt a few things and the whole front comes off for ease of maintenance because we all know stuffs going to break LOL
This is by far the most tedious part, mounting headlights straight and making body lines match - but it's done! So far I have both headlights fully mounted, the intercooler has its upper mount I just need to weld some tabs on the bottom of it to bolt to the lower cross tube. Up next is radiator...
Scored a few new goodies!
Carbon headlight deletes
JMF Billet intake manifold - currently purple will be black LOL
and the newest addition Precision Turbo Next Gen 8085!! Huge shoutout to Nick with Wild Performance on the deal of a lifetime on this unit. What's next on the chopping block is...
I FINALLY worked on the car this weekend LOL managed to get a lot done. The floor bars are officially welded into the car and I got 90% of the 25.5 tacked back in. The last few pieces I need to make are a new windshield bar, roof bar and 4 gusset bars. This needs to be 100% tacked in by...
Its about time to start yankin parts off the ol Rust Rocket. Got the head off to get sold to switch over to a 1g head and that is one happy and healthy head gasket! I've got A LOT to sell off this car which will fund the new and improved parts for the new build. Also, got some of the cage...
PAINT! Cats out of the bag here's the color LOL The interior is finally painted. Brandon did a killer job on this, I can't wait for him to paint the rest. Next up is to get the cage back in the car and welded in permanently. Sadly I will have to sand off some of this paint to get the cage...
Pardon my absence but we're back in business! Spent the last few months getting the new shop built - thread here:
https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/new-shop-build.536324/
Both cars are in the shop and ready to start working on them again finally!
Yeah, the two extra rows were definitely the ticket. Looking back I am now noticing how crooked that one light is on the left going to have to straighten that out LOL
Concrete got pushed to this week thanks to lovely Ohio weather last week LOL. Meantime we were able to get the 60 feet of 6" perforated pipe in the ground just because the grade of my yard/driveway sucks so this will catch all of it when it heads down toward to barn. Weather dependent we will...
How far off the wall is the lift post? I am trying to figure out exactly where to put mine since I will be having a section of thicker concrete. I don't want it too close to the wall but it cant be too far off either.Like you said you can never have too much lighting lol. It will definitely...
As @KCDsmDude said, that is an 8x8 door in the rear that goes out to my trails for the quads. The piece of siding laying on the ground was just an extra piece that was left over.
LET THERE BE LIGHT! Contemplating doing another two rows. This is 21 4' LED Barrina lights from Amazon that I had in my garage at my last house. For the price these are amazing.amazon.com/dp/B07DNPL2VC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Concrete is scheduled for the week of March 21st! I plan on getting all my lights hung this weekend and figuring everything I need to start running the power from the house.
ITS DONE!! I am so happy with everything on this building it turned out awesome. Electrical getting started this weekend and as soon as the weather starts getting warmer concrete can get poured!
Freaking rain! We got over an inch of rain last night and raining almost all day today so they rescheduled for tomorrow :( I feel like a kid on Christmas the suspense is killing me lol
Its been a long wait, but its finally almost here! Monday March 7th they're coming to install the building and I'm so excited!! Yesterday I got the 1s and 2s delivered for the front right section of the driveway and the 57 is coming today over the whole driveway section.
That's on the to do list still lol. The left side brush and small trees will be cleared out before it gets hereMarty that looks awesome! A 2 post lift is the first thing I'm buying once concrete is done. After working out of 1 car and 2 car garages for the last 15 years this is going to be...
Good morning! This is my progress so far on my new 30x40 shop build. It might not look like much but clearing out the wooded area was a major PITA. You can see from the aerial view how much needed cleared. So far we've excavated down about 18" filled it back in and graveled on top. The...
Knocked out some paint prep over the weekend and the cage is at Mikes getting welded! I'll continue getting it ready for paint throughout this week and if the stars align it's getting painted Saturday!
Well it definitely came out easier than it went in haha! The floor section and main hoop are ready to go off to Mikes to get fully welded(not together) and I can continue prepping for paint. Hopefully I can sucker Brandon into coming over this weekend and help me finish paint prep LOL. The...
Operation catch can! $50 2.5 gallon eBay fuel cell, cut the top off, add some baffles, new top, inlet and vent an voila! This will vent right out of the center of the hatch in front of the wing. Plus being this was supposed to be a fuel cell, its sumped, so draining the catch can will be pretty...
Finished up the rear section last night! I think its now about time to get this thing yoinked out of here to start prepping for paint/get it all welded!
That was terrifying but its in! I have some quick release buttons on order for the mounts on the dash, one on each side for easy dash removal. Brandon is coming over tonight he's bringing my chute mount back so we can finish up the last few bars on the cage. Once its done sadly it all has to...
We made the annual trip down to World Cup Finals over the weekend and had such a blast as usual. I had this waiting for me when I got home! I can't wait to get this cut up and installed
Great idea! Sadly, for the next few weeks there will not be any progress as I am just waiting on the building to get delivered but once there is some progress I will definitely start a new thread in the Hangout
Got a bit more done on the cage. Both door X bars are done, dash bar is in, driver enclosure helmet bar is in, All thats left is 2 rear bars to go to my chute mount, some gussets and a million tabs for mounting things! The end is near. Recently placed my order for a carbon dash too! I am so...
So after Shootout I found another rear axle and swapped it in with plans to go to my local track Dragway 42. With the launch device turned off going back to old faithful my left foot. First pass was a soft launch lower boost and was pig rich the whole pass going 8.98 at 161. I couldn't...
Oh man It's been a while. I haven't done much racing this year since we moved between buying the new house and selling the old this pretty much took up way too much time and what a pain in the rear. BUT, it's finally done and over with so! Here's an update on the car this year.. its been a...
Kevin Collins with Early Performance took the W in his auto white 1g. But at least from 2nd place payout and I got the bounty for fastest mph in competition it almost paid for fixing the head.
Sorry for the lack of updates but so here's a big one! Life's been crazy and to make it even more hectic, we're moving!Got the rust rocket all finished up and made it out to Forced Performance Spring Breakdown down in Marion, OH. My main goal for the race was just to dial in the new to me...
Driver side is one more 3/4" tube away from being done! Finished up the X on the door and the helmet bar support. Ordering the rest of the u joints and things I need for the custom steering column as I will be cutting out the factory dash support next and working on mounting the steering...
