isn't one of the main reasons for a bov so that when the throttle shuts an excessive amount of pressure isn't applied to the throttle plate. I've heard of people bending throttle plates like this. however if it was a race vehicle with no lift to shift I guess that wouldn't be a problem as far as...
so basically the length between the crank and cams is what is determining where the timing marks need to be. I need to degree them properly according to the timing card because variances in how much has been removed from the block and head change this by slight amounts but because I have...
no the original timing mark on the adjustable cam gear did not come out well on the picture so I highlighted it with a sharpie . from other research I did on here the exhaust cam is supposed to be advanced one tooth when using the 4g64 block with the 4g63 head but I am not sure why and wanted...
just want some confirmation on how these timing marks are lining up on my 2.2 4g63/4g64 hybrid with adjustable aem 4g63 timing gears. if I read and looked at pics correctly the exhaust cam should be advanced 1 tooth correct. I was also wondering why exactly this is done and since I have...
sounds like fuel cut. do the fuel pump rewire at least, probably need a bigger fuel pump and afpr. when using search change the part that says "Post body and title" to "title only" helps to refine your search.
searching fuel pump rewire like that will get help you more than the link I currently...
sounds like a good plan. hopefully you'll just need a clutch kit. im thinking the throwout bearing is whats causing most of your problem but you'll most likely need to get the trans out to properly find and fix the problem. Best of luck and post the problem/solution when you get it. :thumb:
sounds like you probably need to pull the trans and inspect the clutch, throwout bearing, flywheel, as well as the shaft the clutch disc rides on. thats where it sounds like the problem is to me. you could also get a stethescope possibly from a parts store or tool store like sears or harbor...
have you tried to put your hand different places on the transmission while its making the noise to see if you can feel where exactly the noise is coming from. would also try touching the end of fork while it's making the noise. if they clutch fork is easy to press down like that i would think...
my red wire is on the cigarette lighter fuse and my yellow wire is on the door lock fuse. i didn't use the orange wire as it just dims the gauges some when you turn the headlights on
if none of that fixes it i would listen to bryanwheat post #11 i think if it worked differently once you redid the timing belt thats where I would start . best of luck sir :thumb:
it doesn'tlook to me like your pedal is making it all the way to the floor. at about 1:30 it doesn't look like that second switch is being touched by that plate/bracket or whatever you want to call it. measure the distance the pedal travels from the bracket/switch that it contacts when the...
If you know you have these problems fix them first, then see if an issue still exists. i suggest pulling the plugs. while you have them out do a compresion check doesn't take long and can point out other possible issues. fact is could be something simple or something more severe causing this...
Nothing like a great elbow greased shiny car. i've used turtle waxes ICE wash and polish and got alot of complements from that. might give that a try though. great job. did you claybar it as well?
i would do the fuel pump rewire kit. cheap and easy mod
here is a good guide to go off of
2g Go Faster Recipe
there is also a link in section three to the rewire mod
best of luck.:thumb:
I had the same problem. i ended up having to bleed it some more as well as readjust the master rod. get the person who helped you bleed the system watch the slave cylinder and tell you when it starts moving as you slowly push the pedal down also make sure that the slave cylinder doesn't stop...
here's a link that should help you with your turbo decision.

once again best of luck
building a motor to handle 700 - 800 horsepower and making 700 - 800 horsepower are two different things. Way to many factors to just say try this one, i.e. fuel type ,management, I would this this a drag car or dyno queen but you haven't told us. I would suggest browsing some of the profiles of...
me neither i rock it in the window and have been told to mount it on the front but forget that. if i get a ticket i'll take a fake fixed it pic and it'll get dismissed. Haven't tried it yet but I think you could mount like a small door hinge under the center / middle area of the plastic front...
You might have already done it but I didn't see in the post. Check for spark and fuel that way you have a starting point. does it start back up after letting it sit for a day or extended amount of time. If no spark I would do the electrical tests of the ignition coil and the CAS and like 90%...
hello and welcome.
first step is a boost leak test. simple to make and test. dont have a link but im pretty sure you can find one searching the forums on here or check RRE. also know you just joined but mod list on profile is a must when asking for help.
definitely in the motor. I suppose you've already checked the oil level/condition. If it was low it might make that noise. My motor is making similiar noise but I know I blew up a spark plug and it bounced around and messed something up. I'm just going to try and find another motor for a decent...
$3000 for 96 Eagle Talon Tsi and a 2002 Izuzu Trooper. Customers didn't pay bill at work so I bought them from my boss. had to use two used awd trans to fix the talon but it was well worth the 100 bucks
so should all carbon fiber hoods have hood pins installed or just the oem style ones. I have I guess an invader style vis cf hood that was already on the car when i bought it two months ago. Would it be fine scince it's vented. Is it flying up one of those things that could or could not happen...
Yea i'm starting to think more towards buying another motor if i can find one for the right price. Just in case I cracked the head or something and i think this motor might have had some crankwalk noise anyways.WTF I also have a 90 laser N/T that has no spark issue that i'm slighty contemplating...
NO. Just had a bad experience with this now I need headwork because my NGK BPR6EKN was destroyed. I have a pic here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/413339-hmm-now-what-opinions-please.html
Get tuning software so this doesn't happen to you.
Yea some tuning/datalogging software could've saved both the plug and the headwork I'm gonna need now. This plug caused almost as much damage as busting a timing belt. Price wise atleast, still runs but ticks, smokes, and you can feel it ain't running right and puffs out of pcv hose that is...
So the more research i do I'm starting to think cams might be more than I need to do right now. Please do correct me if i'm wrong. That being said how much of a difference will 1mm oversized valves make would they even be worth it. Same with the springs, will they even do anything?
Yea i've read them and i've been looking into fuel stuff before this happened especially scince MAP was having that vendor special sale. Just pushed the car a little too hard so now I have too fix what I broke. I won though even if it was at a price. 350 Z couldn't get within a half mile of me ROFL
Why Thank you sir, exactly the type of response I was looking for. Would I be better just to stick with the stock cams for now and save the cam money for maybe a 16G or Link or just the 280 cam later.
yea thats the way im looking at it. My motto is once it breaks upgrade it:hellyeah:. just want to make sure i'll be helping more than hurting. especially with the cams.
Sooo doing some racing this weekend when the pic happened. Now I have a tap and I'm burning oil. So i'm figuring I damaged a valve and am in need of a head job. I'm thinking while i'm in that area I might as well upgrade. I was thinking of, in order of importance, NGK BPR7EKN, MAP oversized...
sooo thanx to all that replied. The issue turned out too be my MBC.It had too strong of a spring in it so basically it wasnt letting the wastgate actuator move at all, now it works fine. Another thing that can cause this is if the hose going to the MBC. Have it set aroud 15 psi. Some...
None as far as i know just bought car in june only know what i can see. factory black top injectors? i think 450ccActuator seemed stiff when i had it apart but seems like boost hiccups then rises even faster at about 12 psiNew gauge worked fine scince I bought hooked up to throttle...
i'll probably do that to the 14b that i bought for $50 I was going to use the hot side from the 13 ### it wasn't AS cracked so i worked on that for half a day on and off.then i asked my boy if he could tell the difference between the two turbos when i had them side by side and he made me feel...
So while getting slammed by hurricane Irene got bored and ported and polished the hot side of my Tdo4hl / 13 g/b/?. now I have boost creep higher than my 30 psi glowshift boost gauge will go at 4000 rpm!!! Was at about 22 psi before. From what I have read I found that X psi on a small turbo like...
congrats on the new start/car. sounds like you didn't get that bad of a deal to me 5200 total for an awd that sounds like your probably pushing or atleast capable of over 300 hp and you're the one who has done most of the work to the car in the first place. congrats on turning that project car...
+1 Sounds like a guy at my work. Hes 50 years old and thinks his stock 2003 Mach 1 Mustang can't be beat and if it was it's still better because it only has 15,000 miles on it and new car smell. Also thinks it still worth like $25000. on his fifth fuel pump think i should tell him about the RRE...
IMO Lambo doors are useless. Unless its a trailer queen show car, Lambo doors suck. I've had a couple cars come into work with them on and they were annoying as heck. Probably never have a problem squeezing into your car when someone parks right next to your door though.
Have read other no start no spark didn't find answer.Drove to work one morning fine. Went to go get breakfast and wouldn't start. Came back hooked up scan tool did fuel pump test heard fuel pump. started up several times in a row. started twice before leaving work. at the turn lane into my...
