a conversation between me and my sister who just came out of a bad marriage and was trying meet a guy. My 10 year old nephew (who loves food) overheard the convo. My sister: Kelly begged me to go to this party last night and and said there would be a lot of guys there so I went. When we got...
^^ That's what I thought but since the tune his gas mileage went up. He's getting around 70mpg. Plus, that hp doesn't sound like a lot but in an 1800 pound hybrid, it's not bad. 245% more power and 226% more tq isn't bad for what was supposed to be $2000. Problem is they want 75% more than what...
Yea, the insight has the manifold built into the head which is why it isn't hard to make a turbo manifold for them. I did find out he's using a GT1548 turbo. They want $600 for the dyno tuning which was done with an SAFC Neo which they originally said they were going to do at no charge since he...
I sent him an email about what type of turbo etc . . . just waiting for him to get back up with me. He was only supposed to have to pay the parts, at their cost. Also, the manifold is a 90* bend with 2 flanges welded to it so not a big deal fabbing that. It's running a water to air IC and an...
A friend of mine has a honda insight that he recently had a custom turbo kit put on. The shop that did it specializes in custom fabricated turbo kits and told him they were looking for an insight to fabricate a kit for reproduction and would build the kit for him for only the cost of parts. Now...
The one I have is made of actual carbon fiber. They attached it to cloth then used an actual eclipse shift boot and copied the pattern. Fit perfectly.Wow. I don't see any either. Only the carbon fiber vinyl. Glad I got mine when they made em.
This came off of a camaro forum from a "show off your clean 3rd gen" thread. All the other people's cars on the thread were mostly stock in appearance, just very clean. Dude was actually showing this thing off to them. :toobad:.
I recently became a dad. My baby girl is 4 1/2 months old now and I couldn't be more happy. I made a snap decision and sold everything for my talon and went out and bought a 06 altima (something I wouldn't be tempted to turbo or tune). In retrospect selling my goodies was a mistake but I...
I got an ebay full 3" downpipe that looks like the one in the OP's link. It's surprisingly good quality for the price. It wouldn't fit up to the o2 housing so I got an ebay o2 housing and they fit together nicely. I think I only paid $60 for the o2 housing with shipping. That's been a few years...
I actually took the lens off an old tail light because I was going to sand the texture off the inside and polish it out to get the look of clear lenses. The inside wasn't' chrome but silver. Also, the reflector had gaps around it. It obviously wasn't meant to be seen. Now that you mention it...
Okay . . . since this thread has been revived once again, I honestly believe that OEM tail lights look the best on our cars. That being said, I actually found some aftermarket tails that aren't 100% bad. I don't like the LED design, don't like the center section, and hate how the inserts look...
This is my friend's Honda Insight. It has a custom spoiler, custom speaker box, custom leather seats, and yes, he's turbocharging it. While all the custom stuff was actually made by him including the leather seat covers, it's well crafted and in good taste, and for an insight it looks pretty...
This isn't a conversation I had online or texting but an actual conversation I had in person with a man and woman I work with.
Him: (filling out a report) "How do you spell probably?"
Me: "P-R-O-B-A-B-L-Y."
Him: "That doesn't sound right."
Her: No, it doesn't."
Him: "I think it's...
First pic is my stripped timing belt. Second pic is the chunk of timing belt that was stripped off with a plastic piece I found wedged between the belt and pulley. The result was that all my exhaust valves got a gangsta lean.
Guess you're right. My friend's mom had a roadmaster and he drove it quite often. He actually beat a couple of stock mustang GTs with it. Thing's suspension felt like we were in a boat on choppy water though. I literally did shake my head when he showed up in it .
I actually searched through the thread to find out the deal with the lt1 vs ls1 thing. HAHAHAHA! Dude actually said a roadmaster wagon is quick. But yea, definitely an lt1. Ls1 made it's debut in a production car in the c5 corvette in 97. The roadmaster ended production in 96.But anyway...
That's happened to me before too. It's no fun when you try to show someone up but you're the one being laughed at in the end.:tease::tease::tease::tease: :sosad:Why do I love DSMs so much?
Oh good lawd! I wish I could've gotten a picture but sadly I can only describe this. I was going to get some Taco Hell when in the distance I saw a late 80s 300zx with a bumper cutout showing off a large FMIC. It starting looking funny as he got closer and I could see it was flat. As in...
Oh shoot. Just remembered one more embarrassing than the smoke screen. So I'm riding through town and pass by the local DSM hating honda douches. I get on it just enough to spool up and blow off. Intercooler hose pops off and I have to pull over and fix it while they watch :ohdamn:.
When my stock T25 blew on my 96 GS-T. I'd spool up, let off the gas, and a cloud of smoke followed. It was like I was in a spy hunter game. The more gas I gave it the more smoke bellowed. Felt kind of sorry for the people behind me with convertibles or motorcycles.
He's a member. His new car looked sooooo much better. He got a 97 gst with a lot of work done. Has receipts from RRE. Tastefully lowered and pretty nice wheels. But . . . he replaced his stock wing with an aluminum wing and his front end with a bomex. So I traded a MBC for his stock front end...
Sorry about that. That's what I meant. I got a little sidetracked with a crying baby. thanks for correcting me. Cap the nipple on the intake that used to go to the bcs, is what I was thinking when I posted.
Leave the third line out. Just cap it off at the bcs. All you need is the line going from the turbo to the MBC and from the MBC to the wastegate actuator.
I'd bolt it down somewhere so it doesn't go where it doesn't need to be, like the cooling fans. You can get this type of clamp in various sizes from lowes pretty cheap. looks like what SpawnedX used.
Welcome to dsmtuners. This is an awesome site that you can find the answer to just about any dsm question you can ask. I seriously thought I knew DSMs until I found this site. Every time I visit, it's a learning process.
A lot of people like the SSAC intercooler kit. I was going to get it because it's relatively cheap and I hear it's a pretty good kit. The MHI 16g is a great bang for your buck turbo and is very reliable. It's pretty easy to install. You only need to change the oil supply and return lines, and...
I'll hopefully get back more than what I'm used to because I have a baby to claim this year. I plan to put some in the bank, use some for baby stuff, and hopefully get the talon back running. :sosad: I'm tired of having turbo withdrawals.
