    Compound Turbo Thread

Thanks for the info. The compound setup is desired because I want to build boost at low RPM for tight and technical courses without needing to shift. Do you think the turbos are too close to the same size for a compound setup even with the compressor and turbine modifications? I basically tried...

    Buying a New turbo (help)

Not trying to be a dick, but I'm surprised no one has told you to search yet. There are soooooo many different options for making 500+ hp. There is no one best way if that's what you're expecting to be spoon fed. Spend some time looking through build threads on here, youtube, and your favorite...

Sorry if this is a bad thread to ask this in, but I didn't think it was worth starting a new one. I've been using a MIG for years and now I'm going to be getting TIG soon. Making a Holset bolt on cheap & easy

I was going by the Holset FAQ thread on here. "The stock hx35 12cm^2 twinscroll turbine housing is a t3 flange housing. This mated to a NON-divided runner manifold has produced a 132mph trap speed with a full weight 1g AWD. This is about 600whp. So the flow is there with the stock housing if...

Making a Holset bolt on cheap & easy

Thanks for the input. Very good points & ideas. I would love to design a manifold like that eventually. I know of some foundries around where I live, so I might have to talk to them about it someday. As long as people are using a smaller Holset housing like my 12cm, spool should be pretty good...

Making a Holset bolt on cheap & easy

Thanks for the info and pictures. That helps a lot since my engine isn't assembled right now. Confirmed my idea on how to use the bolts for mounting too (not represented in my design above). I think I can make some adjustments in the design to make it work.

Making a Holset bolt on cheap & easy

This is for the cheap guys out there that want to run an HX35 or HX40 with their stock manifold, stock Holset twin scroll housing, and stock Holset internal wastegate. This isn't an ideal setup to really utilize these turbos to their full potential, but it could be a great stepping stone...

    Where to get designs manufactured?

The job shop I worked at got kind of slow in the winter, so were willing to take on small projects. Look for places with laser, or punch, or plasma, or waterjet, and press brake machines. Most brackets shouldn't require a mill. Simple stuff like brackets can be ran through engineering and put...

Alternative wheel/tire specs for drag racing

What tire size was Kiggly using with the 8" wheels and 10" wheels though?
  20. imagine-02

Alternative wheel/tire specs for drag racing

The point of going to a 9" wide wheel would be to run 275/50-15 tires. It would be silly to stretch 235/60-15 onto them for drag racing. The type of tires I've had in mind for this are M&H Street & Strip.

Alternative wheel/tire specs for drag racing

yeah more grip is mainly the point. And looking for some pro & cons. I could see weight being a major con with the wider wheels & tires. Weld wheels are pretty damn light though.

Disclaimer: I'm not necessarily going to run this purposed wheel/tire setup, I'm just wondering what if. Also ignore fender rubbing. "Poking" as the stance crowd says, is fine with me. I'm more worried about rubbing the inner side of the wheel wells, brakes, and suspension. The norm seems to...
