I thought that DSM looked familiar!I was in your shop a couple weeks ago, getting an alignment for my SVT Contour.I almost bought that same car a year ago, love what you've done with it. Keep it up, your attention to detail will pay off in the long run. It does suck getting to the point when...
I see what your saying but that's not the problem. I have DSMlinkV3 and can put the ecu in open/closed loop as I choose and disable input from the coolant temp sensor. However I finally got it to run somewhat normally by disabling the o2 and putting it in permanent closed loop. Now the car just...
You're fine. Better fuel economy if anything. As long as the car isn't acting weird driving around like stuttering and isn't lean under boost there's really nothing to worry about.
First of all, thank you for all the responses everyoneJust fine, builds boost normallyThat would throw a code, also see belowYep tried that currently the ecu is set to always run in open loop.I do. It's set at 43 psi. I already swapped fuel pressure regulators from another...
O2 sensor was replaced less then 2 months go with OEM. It reads normal and is not throwing a code.It has a small leak after the o2. But that wouldn't explain why it runs eratically. If it was lean all the time or rich all the time that would be one thing, but it's either/or with no...
To the point: Car was tuned on V2 by the best DSM tuner in the area. Car ran amazing for about 2 weeks, and then inexplicably started running either really rich or really lean at partial throttle depending on it's mood. It always runs rich in boost. Plugs and wires are new (NGK).Since then...
You have a 99 7 bolt aka with the revised split thrust bearing. You don't need to worry about crankwalk. ACT makes quality clutches, I have the 2600 and it's held up to 400+ lb/ft torque daily driving for over a year now.
Just some food for thought...the 18G is ~$700 from forced performance which will leave you plenty of money for that manifold and external wastegate. Just give 'em a call, they'll help you out.
I believe you, I was just explaining why I don't like Holsets. If it's still making more power, and he has the head to do it, why wouldn't you want to rev that high? Of course you'll need a dyno tune to figure this out...and the right turbo.
Thank you for proving my point. They weren't engineered for a 4 cyl, which is why they have to be modified and watched closely to work on our cars. Except you threw the 20g in there which has a Mitsu housing and is a bolt on affair for our cars. :hmm:
Also those turbos are readily available...
Well I would consider getting an internally gated turbo with the intent of running high amounts of boost "cheaping out." 400 wheel isn't hard to hit...An Evo III 16g CAN get you there but you'll need a great tune (read: DSMLink) and those cams. You have a lot of options, and you don't need to...
If you spent all this money building the motor, why are you going to cheap out on the turbo set up? throw the stock stuff on there if need be while you save up money. Just do it right the first time, it'll save you money in the long run. Also what are your power goals? It's a lot more of a...
You'll need a large spacer and extended studs for those to work. Unfotunately it's a huge pain trying to fit any decently wide tire on a 2ga. I would imagine you would need a 20mm spacer to get those to fit, it would stick out a little bit but not horribly. Personally I would just look for...
So you're saying you can routinely exceed the limits of your cars handling? on the street?I run -1 all around for my winter set up on all season tires. Even with those I come no where close to my car's handling limit on the street. Save your tires.
Leave it, it's fine. What kind of driving are you doing in a non turbo that -.5 degree of camber is going to make a difference? Save your tires. If it bothers you that much take a washer or 2 out of the rear. How many washers did you add anyways? The stock bolts don't like more than a few.
This. Though I wouldn't go back to stock.Go with Koni's if you can, though with as much as they cost you might want to look into a true coilover set up. Tokico's are a reputable manufacterer as well, I don't have any experience with them but I do know they provide OEM shocks and struts for...
Whichever one has a lower miles and/or has been better maintained (assuming this is a 3kgt VR4, otherwise get the z32). They're both great cars though...check the build date on the 92 though. Early 92's had a 2 bolt main (supposedly weaker but many have 500+awhp on it) and weaker 18 spline...
My roommate has one. Just fyi those aren't oem wheels in that picture (I'm guessing 350Z wheels) and they only made them in 06 and 07. I've heard poor reviews about the engine and that excessive oil builds up in the intercooler piping really fast and causes engine failure. That being said my...
Hey all
I'm in desperate need of help of finding this part. While installing a new SS fuel line I kinked the hard line on the fuel sending unit. This is causing a sudden drop in fuel pressure when the turbo starts to spool. I ordered one from the dealership but they ordered the wrong part, and...
This game looks good ont he surface but has a ton of flaws, especialy online. If someone spins you out and you go off the track you automatically get a 5 sec penalty where you're not allowed to accelerate for "cutting" the track. The loads times are ridiculous, theres no split screen...
Any numbers without meth? We have almost the exact same mods although I'm running straight 93 no meth. Makes me excited to get my car dynoed. Meth or not, those are awesome numbers :hellyeah:
You have a non turbo...those seats are way over kill. Unless you need those super tight mad JDM bolsters to hold you tight while your touging. yeah right. Get a good sound system and some oem leather, lower it with nice wheels and call it a day.
Ok I'm confused. I have a 95 awd as well with 17x8 +38 evo 9 enkei's, and have literally 1mm of clearance between the tire and upper control arm. Tires are 235/45/17, how the hell do you fit those?
I don't like Rotas, but I always thought Rota Boosts look really good on our cars. Of course if you can afford the real Advan RGIIs, that would be teh hotness. Or 5zigen fnro1c look good on our cars, and no one will be able to give you crap for having knock off wheels. Please get at least an 8...
Hell if someone can put a 6G72TT in a 1g this should be a walk in the park. Cut/mold some plastic solder some wires and drill some new holes can't be that hard hahaha
Dude just go for it and roll the fenders if you have to...it's not that big of a deal. You simply can't fit any decently wide tire on a dsm without some modification, especially 95-96s. If you're suspension is stiff enough you won't have to.
Mechanical timing being off can cause this. You might have to reinstall the timing belt but a little more info about what exactly it's doing at idle will help.
It should fit. Personal opinion, but why get an 8 inch wide wheel and only put a 225mm wide tire? I would go at least 235. Anyways, even with that size tire your still gonna be awfully close to that upper control arm. Do you have a camber kit? With 1.5 inch drop you probably have 1-2 degrees of...
You have a 2ga, with that high of an offset you're going to have more issues clearing the rear upper control arms than the fender. The highest offest I would go for an 8 inch wide wheel is +38, unless you want to get too small of tire which will throw off your speedo and not fill up the wheel...
