I have had a lot of work done at Pure Tuning to my car and the guys are very good. I think you have bitten off more then you can chew.I recommend that yo take it to them and let them help you get things in running order.
NO for a few reason.1. The 7 bolts use a thrust washer bearing and the 6 bolts do not.2. 6 bolt rods are thicker then 7 bolt rods so things are not going to line up their either!Get a Kiggly Racing main gridle. Main Girdle - Kiggly Racing Parts for DSM and EVOand some ARP main studs and...
I would just rebuild the one you have. It will save you money in the long run.Take it to a good local speed shop and have them do the work for you.Now would be the time to look at doing any upgrades that you might want to.You will need new valves, valve seals, head gasket, and timing belt...
I would take the rods to a speed shop and have them look at them. If they aren't helpful and you are still worried about them and you have the money to upgrade then it couldn't hurt to upgrade.
I would buy a Gasket that matches your bore size. OEM is fine or you can upgrade to a different brad.I'm gussing the motor is out of the car. So flip it over remove oil pan and unbolt the mains, rods, and give it a little tap with a mallet and it should come free.Post some pictures so...
I would put the drill bit that you are going to use over the hole and trace it with a fine tip sharpie. Then use the mark as a idea if you think it will hold. I would probably go ahead and do it. Because of the fact that your running a crazy Frankenstein contraption.Good luck;)
Street Tuned Motor Sports has them as well and you will not have to pay as much for shipping PLUS their is no handling FEE... what is with that???If you think a $100 is to much for the life and safety of your DSM well then...
If your on facespace and everyone is. Look for a group called Turbo Lab. They will have the rebuild parts you need to buy. Youtube has video out their on how to do the rebuild.
I would just save yourself the trouble and sell those things and buy a piston that has been designed to use in your motor and they will come with the proper rings. Why go threw all that trouble and risk?
I'm running a FP and They don't need to be ported. Plus they look way better.I had mine coated with TBC. Mine does not seen to get very hot with the coating.I think FP is the best manifold you can get before stepping up into a nice $1000 tubular manifold.
You don't need to upgrade your fuel rail.Since you already have the 255 pump and AFPR. All you will need is bigger injector's. 750's will be plenty big enough.FP makes a killer stock manifold that bolts up to stock size turbo and I looks sexy. Plus very inexpensive.Going with a...
Replacing the old motor with a new different one is another option. If you didn't know that DOHC motors don't use push rods. Then I would strongly recommend doing a lot of research out DOHC motors and not attempt to rebuild or repair anything with out the help of some one older with motor...
Go to a speed shop and have them do a tear down and inspect it. It should only cost a couple hundred buck and they can rebuild after they have it tour down !
7 bolts are great motors if you get a decent shop to rebuild it. Their is no need to do the swap. It is a lot of work to do the swap. If you can pull the motor and strip off everything you need to drop it off at a good race shop. They should be able to do a rebuild for 1 or 2 G's. Depending on...
If it is making noise when you are turning then I would think it is wheel bearing starting to fail or CV shaft is getting worn out or a combination of both.
I have had problems with mine ICM dropping spark to cylinders also. I had a weak ICM and that cause alot of problems for me. The problem was I bought mine from local auto parts store. You really really should buy OEM. Mitsubishi brand. For things like relays, modules, and switches they are the...
My belt would make noise when the fans kicked on at start up or if I turned the fans on when I started the car. It would always go away after 1 or 2 minutes. It was like their was to much load for the alternator or something.
If the head is off the car take it with the cam caps to a well known speed shop and they will be able to line hone and bore the caps for you. ARP now sells cap bolts if your looking to get extra piece of mind.
holly crap dude I rushed out their after work and their was no one their yet so I thought no one was showing up.I left and went back home all kinds of bummed out lol :ohdamn:I will be their next week for sure:thumb:
I have been working on getting my ride back together. I would like to come out and kick it with you guys in my focus till I get the Talon back on the road if that cool with ya'll...
I have purchased a few ProSport gauges and their is an option to change the color of the light output. I want my gauges to be white light when the cars lights are off and I ant to wire the gauges to be green when the park lights or head lights are on. What would be some of my options to tap into...
I'm wanting to know if you should or should not use a regular paper gasket along with the Magnus Heat Barrier Gasket?I took off my stock intake manifold and the paper gasket stayed intact with the head so should i scrap it off and only use the Magnus Gasket or is it ok to leave the stock...
Hello everyone I'm a first timer DSM and first time modifier. I have always loved all wheel drive cars and now I'm a proud owner of a 95 Talon TSi that came with a full 6bolt swap in it, but had a blow motor so I began my journey about 3 years ago and now I'm half way decent at most bolt on mods.
Yes I plan to get the DSM Link this spring and I do have a Eprom ECU. It need to have the socket adapter but on by the guys at ECM but that hole set up is like 500 bucks.I seen the CTS by Kiggly before but was not to sure as to what it really was and how it would play into my setup. now that...
When I bought the car I found out that the motor jumped timing. So I pulled the motor and had it rebuilt at a motor shop and that is when I knew for sure I had a six bolt. The kid I bought the car from told me it was a 6 bolt but I would have never know till I had a buddy come over and look at...
I have a 95 Talon that has a full 6 bolt swap that was done to it when I bought it.My question is can I use a 95 Cam Angle Sensor or newer on my current 91 6 bolt block and head setup ?Would I be able to do so ?Would their be any benefits if I dis do this ?
well i guess what i mint to say was i have turned the motor by hand using a ratchet to TDC and my intake cam is one tooth off.no i do not hear any clunking or any thing that sounds like there is damage to valve train when i turn the motor by hand.I have not pull off the stuff off to reset...
