Check to make sure all the bolts are out, make sure it's in neutral, and if you need to try to twist it a little and tap it softly with a rubber mallet to try to losing it up.

+1 on that. The 2.4L block is very nice with used with a 1G head, not to mention you don't have to worry about buying another block.

I doubt it removes heat, but a pic would get you more and better answers.

The motors are the same, the only difference is 6 bolt and 7 bolt. You just need to get a AWD transmission, t case, drive shaft and rear end if it's not already on the car if you plan on keeping it AWD.

I would get it welded at a shop, or just use JB weld.

OWNED! lol.Anyway, I would say the mounts or the clutch. I had a similar issue when I shifted gear and gave it some acceleration. I replaced the clutch and made sure all the mounts where tight and it went away.

I would get it. Part out the engine or sell it as is for parts, use that cash to buy a nice used engine for a few hundred dollar and drop it in. Have a nice car for probably under $1k.

Just do the basic upgrades like intake, exhaust, and stuff like that and you can run 8 psi of boost on a stock 420a. Even so, the stock 420a isn't built for turboing so who knows how long it will hold up on boost without something going out. I would run 5-6 psi normally and crank it up to 8 psi...

1st off get walbro 255 fuel pump. You can get some high injectors as long as you have a way to control them, I suggest you get mega squirt. Grab some some low compression pistons, since lower compression are a bit easier to tune, and get some eagle rods. Cosmetic MLS head gasket, with ARP...

If you are tying to put a GST or GSX 4g63 into a RS or GS it's not worth the cash, you will have to do a LOT of custom welding and fabbing. You can put a Evo 8 engine in there though since it sits on the same side as the 420a. You may need to fab up some custom motor mounts to make it sit in...

Well you can buy a used engine and drop it in if you want. I say it's not a bad deal. I did the same thing, except I bought a 99 GST shell with a blown engine and no tranny for $400 and paid $200 to have it hauled to my house.

My 420a in all stock with no bolt-ons and made 130mph easy. Also my 420a is 5 speed all day. My friend has a 98 auto GS and his car is slow as hell. I raced him and I flew past him in only 4th gear with I hit 5th I hit 130+mph.
