Does xshift plan to keep producing a 2g sequential transmission? To my knowledge, I don't think anyone else makes anything like this. Incredible build!
You could do like talonawd1991 does. Advertise and sell it as a working motor, then play dumb when they find out somethings wrong with it.Back Story: talonawd1991 sold me a LC-1 with a dinged up sensor. He never mentioned anything about the sensor being as dented as it was. After...
Sometimes there is a reason why people choose the "norm" ... if you want to be different, why not stick a ls1 in your car? That's far from normal right? ROFL
About 2 years before I graduated college, I ran across a teal green 92 civic hatch that I bought from a 77y/o man (2nd owner car). It was in good shape for a car that had over 200k miles. I put nearly 20k miles on it in less than a year. Then pulled the swap out to put a thrown together turbo...
E85 has 1/3 less energy than normal pump gas. I would expect to see a 20 to 30% decrease in fuel mileage on e85. :thumb:So yes, 15-16 mpg seems rather low for e85 but, I'm sure he isn't babying the car either. ROFL
I really hate to say this to the dsm crowd BUT if it were me and I had the choice ... I'd pick up a comparably priced old (92-00) civic over any 420A. I've owned 18 Honda's and that is what I recommend to everyone who wants a cheap reliable car. There is a reason there are so many on the road...
First thing I thought was dogbox tranny, which I thought was a transmission with straight cut teeth gears. What is a dogbox shifter? Is it a gated shifter?
Have you personally had an issue over-running a regulator?I've never seen this first hand but, have heard it can happen. I ran on a stock regulator and 255 for over 100k miles ...
Although most people that have been around cars for a while would know not to over tighten certain things (or as us shade tree mechanics say it ,"hand tight"), I would be willing to bet something is being done wrong if your friend is using a tq wrench and keeps cracking valve covers. There's no...
If it worked before and now it doesn't, we can assume that the problem was caused by the install. Re-trace your steps to rule out everything you can.I would still check it to be on the safe side. :thumb:Maybe the sending unit float ironically became stuck at the same time you installed...
Yes. It may seem like normal practice to some ... but, many people don't do it. I've broken way too many things and hate having to fix what can be prevented.
Am I missing something?Unless you are the king of base maps, how would you tune a car without it being under a load?Or do you mean, tuning with overdrive off? If overdrive is turned off, the car will not shift into 4th gear. Maybe it's done to get a full pull in 3rd gear?
Most the time if a turbo car smokes under boost (assuming its not running rich ROFL) it can be attributed to the turbo seals going out.If you are worried about the motor, do a leak down test.Have you been checking the fluids? Is the coolant a weird color or low? Is the oil low? If I were...
Make sure it has a good ground ... and is grounded by itself. If not, you may have a high frequency noise any time it's on.Now is the time to invest in an O2 sensor socket or make money. When I started using NTK sensors, I became cautious about how easy they are to damage because they are so...
If I were you, I'd spend a little money on some head studs and an OEM METAL head gasket.any time I yank a head, I chase the i/m and e/m bolt holes/studs to make sure they are clean. I do the same thing with head bolt holes too ... just a little lesson I learned a long time ago.
Yea so, I use to post under another name but, have since forgot the password and the email address is no longer around.Hi, my name is Matt and I like to party.A little about me ... I do math for a living and still play with toy cars.
