Its funny because its very true. Just when you think youve got everything, your still forgetting something. Sucks!Interesting thread with the E85 vs. pump gas. very interesting.
Hey I completely understand and not saying it couldnt be sold for a little more. But if you needed a quick sale I could afford that. Anymore and I would need to sell my GS-T first. Good luck with everything though.
I dont think it would be too hard to sell that car. I would easily give you $1500 for that car. I hope you sell your truck so you can keep it, but if not, let me know. I would consider the Talon all day.
Wow, cant believe your really going to do it. I wish you luck, but still dont see why you just didnt fix the body up on the AWD car. Then you couldve had 2 DSM's.
Hey did you happen to go to NEDragway, or did you make the trip to Lebanon Valley?I live in New Bedford and would love to go up to the track soon as well.
You really got to come out to NOPI at NEDragway in August. Its going to be an awesome time. I will have my car ready to go for it, and the RWD 9 sec DSM should be there as well. I cant think of his name right now, but its the old Buschur car. I cant wait to meet him as well.
Splitpi just showed how well the later EVO injectors really did flow. Even if you looked at EVO's and how well they perform on stock injectors, you would see that you are a little low on your numbers. I have an EVO VIII, and I was not anywhere near that Injector duty cycle and I put down about...
Glad to hear your going to NOPI at NEDragway. I cant wait to go, I make it an awesome weekend. Go to Hampton Beach on Friday night and all weekend. When is the next time your going to the track? NEdragway that is?
A/C would be the only compromise in getting a bigger, more efficient intercooler though. There are really any others. Not so much the intercooler though, it would be the piping to the intercooler that would mess things up a bit.
I would like to do this on a Dodge Colt/Mirage. That would be beastly. I think with the time and fabrication that you are going to go through, no matter how rusty that AWD shell really was, you couldve made it look brand new again.
Still working on this huh? I would think that you wouldve had this all figured out by now. There have been a few different turbos in the classifieds section since you started this thread. I hope you have been looking. If not your missing out on some good deals.
I did buy new plugs and will be putting them in. But that wasnt the problemConclusion to this thread...NEW SPARK PLUG WIRES!!! I still think thats pretty stufpid. I cant believe it was the wires. Usually mine have worked, or just havent worked at all. Its pretty simple really...
Telling you, I just dont think its worth it.I think most people who spend that much money on it just went with a 4g63. You will spend a lot less generally, and have much more options.Good luck in your search though. I would think the only persons who have done this were shop cars just...
Im going to check my spark plug wires next. Im fine with replacing my coil pack, as the old one was actually cracking where the spark plug wires go.I will test the power transistor after that.My A/C is actually removed from the car, so I suppose I dont have to worry about that much...
I never looked at DSM's as an all motor kind of thing. I applaud anyone who spent that much money on the N/A and built it with an N/A stroker motor. Im curious to see some results as well though.
Good luck painting the exterior though. I found painting with a metalic to be extremely difficult. It can be very inconsistent. I would like to try again, but it would take a while for me.I really enjoy painting a lot as well. Finding the right amount of hardner with the paint can be a...
Im just waiting for the right deal on an EPROM'd Ecu. It seems like a really good deal and a good tuning tool. Im sure DSMlink is pretty. It is. But the keydriver ecu is still plenty good.
Yes it shakes pretty hard. Its not firing at the right speed. Its not specific to one cylinder either.I was told about the A/C plug alread as well. I will try and see if it goes underneath the intake manifold or something, because I dont see a plug around the coil pack or near the power...
No, its just a lot more sporadic then that. An STI sounds smooth. My car is running rather poorly.I think I may have a coil connector not plugged in. I have a round clip on the same part of the coil pack, and power transistor part of the engine harness thats not plugged in. I can not see...
My car feels like its running on 3 cylinders. I replaced the coil pack because I felt that this was the problem. Seems as though it is not. I did replace it with a brand new coil pack but it still is doing the same thing.I was going to try the power transistor next but then I though about...
A relay switch is a relay switch for the most part. I know in most cars you can just go to autozone and buy any old relay and put it in. Im not 100% if this is the case, but I would feel confident with what mitsu is gonna sell you.
I know what you mean. I would like to see what it would do as well. But for the most part, you can just look at his power to weight ratio, see what other cars have done with that, and you would have a pretty good and general idea of what he would be running.
Makes sense then. Just isnt very exciting with all the unexpected costs you had to pay. For trannies you already had. Good luck with everything though. Hopefully it all works out in the end.
You just got to keep doing what your doing. Your not lost yet. If after you checked the starter, relay, ignition and all fuses, the car still doesnt start. Then you should feel lost. Not just yet though. Good luck.
It's hard to not want to make the drive over and get my car tuned. I feel that strongly about it.My motor is built pretty well, and I believe it would respond very well with a 16g and a good tune.Nate, if your ever out in the Boston area for whatever reason, let us know. Perhaps if...
Rebuild kits for turbos are rather inexpensive and not all that difficult to do. You should read into it. If your happy with your current setup, stick with it.
Actually buschur racing has done test on other products to find which is best. For an EVO, they actually found that the EBAY o2 elbow created the best power. I understand what your saying, but its not always true.that thread that was supplied for this thread, didnt really compare any of...
DSM4mee, that is very useful info. and all, but he tested the starter and its good. So more then likey its his relay. Not sure if you checked the started fuse yet either, or any of your fuses for that matter. It has not been mentioned yet.
Did you even read any of this? Where did you come from?I would have to agree that its not just about the turbo and the tune. Light weight parts in the motor, freeing up horsepower probably do contribute. I would love to actually know the whole story, but for the most part this thread is...
$3500 for a tranny. I love my DSM and all, but I cant justify that. I hope you have a high goal set for your car, and not just street driving it. Thats kinda crazy.
He has a complete car for sure. Awesome suspension, and a light car played a huge factor. It just seems as though people were focusing on just fuel tuning.
On the SSAC intercooler in that thread, they were running a GT35R at 40+ lbs of boost. I think thats a little more then what most people are doing here.It also doesnt compare that car, to itself with a different intercooler. Basically that link doesnt help this thread much. Good thread...
I would think that it is the relay though. If your relay was good, then when you turned the key, the starter would make a click, or start grinding or something. When you turn the key all the way, your lights may also dim, but nothing happens. That would still be your starter being stupid...
