Well English didn't offer to fix their mistake but they did offer me a free tune as a way to say sorry lol. If they wouldn't have installed worn out timing belt parts then I wouldn't be here in this situation...On with the good! I wired up the fuel pump rewire, and installed the fuel lab...
Yea I thought about that, I was thinking that maybe the oil pump sprocket is moving out a bit from its center axis, but with the car running it looks good, I don't see any wobble. And when I had the belt off I tried to check for play on the oil pump sprocket but it seemed good to me.I have...
The Engine is in the car so I can't get a nice pic of the whole side of the motor, what did you want to see?Not sure what you mean by correct side. English Racing installed the crank trigger plate so I would hope they installed it correctly. The idler pulley is on the side close to the...
The belt was brand new OEM from JNZ tuning and was still in original packing so the belt should be ok, there are no rips in the new belt right now but the old belt that snapped developed 3-4 small rips all on the timing belt cover side.
Ok perfect, thank you. I am going to have the whole thing retuned after all the fuel upgrades but was just really curious why nothing changed the wideband reading.
The belt isn't being chewed up, it just looks like it is wearing more on that one side, after about 20k miles the old one snapped so trying to figure out why. Pic of the timing belt cover.yea all English racing motor, I picked up the motor and installed it. It does have the trigger plate...
Hello I am in the process of upgrading some fuel components. I just did the rewire on the 255 fuel pump, so now I am trying to get the pressure back to where it was before the rewire. My question here is this...When I am messing around with the fuel pressure regulator I can change the fuel...
Hello, I did a timing belt job on my 97GSX with a 6-bolt motor. After driving around for about 100miles I took the timing cover off to make sure everything looked ok and found something wrong. The timing belt is rubbing on the oil pump sprocket washer/guide piece; and also is all the way on...
Hello fellow DSM'ers. So 3 months ago my fully built English Racing long block snapped its timing belt after only 20k miles. So with no help coming from English (I tried), I had the head rebuilt with new valves by Garage 808 (local shop) and did the rest of the work myself. (for more on that...
Well English Racing called me on Friday August 28th and said they want to "make this right" and that they would call me on Monday after talking with Lucas... well that was a while ago, it is now September 11th and I still haven't heard from them...I just don't get it, I am a very factual person...
This is the email I sent to English Racing 3 hrs ago."Hey guys it's been two months or so since we talked about the 20k mile timing belt failure that happened (because you guys reused my timing components and a old reused belt on the new motor)... but another question,.. did you guys reuse...
Also the rear main seal has leaked oil from day one of having the new motor from English. They told me it was the oil galley plug leaking because there guy ordered the wrong one so they sent me a new plug. Well I have the car all apart and it was not leaking from the oil galley plug it is...
fWell it has been a while since I have updated this build so I wanted to give an update as lots of things are currently changing. Good and bad things... First with the bad, real bad LOL... Well, last month the fully built English Racing complete long block they built me snapped a timing belt...
Ok I have searched but didn't find anything, tried Goggle and all that. I am sure someone has had to deal with this before. Basically at one time I took out my rear seat belts, now I am re installing them, the problem is that when I go to pull on the belt it instantly locks up. I haven't...
It's been a while since I have updated this, new updates are the brakes they started squealing big time, fine one day the next day it was loud loud lol...Took he brakes apart found that the rotors are toast, way past the 0.880" service limit to be resurfaced. So rotors were on the list. Did a...
Just bought the front outlander brackets, $72 a pair from amazon. Got the outlander Centric Rotor for $36 each from local place. They didn't ask me what model outlander it was for so they are probably all the same for that year... looking forward to better stopping since I needed to replace my...
Anyone know for sure if all the 05/06 outlander rotors are the same, like between different models of the outlander? I am going to order these today and they are going to ask me what model its for.
I would say that I have been there and done it with all the crazy stereo setups in my 10 years on the road since age 16. I pride myself in my electronics. Sounds like you just want a nice sounding stereo and not something that will knock down picture frames in the neighbors house. My advise...
That pressure plate needs to sit flush to the flywheel with no gap. It is normal to not be able to push the pressure plate fully onto the flywheel by hand, when you torque the bolts in the proper order (star pattern) then there will be no gap.x2 on throwing away the manual that says to...
Correct the torque spec for the nuts is 20-22fts lbs, but I thought you were talking about the torque of the studs going into the head itself because you said stud and not nut :)OEM studs are the black oxide color, not shiny. The OEM nuts are copper.
It's the bottom middle stud, that goes threw the oil passage, on your 6-bolt motor. To get the studs installed you will need to use two nuts backed up to each other, then you put a wrench onto each nut, then you squease the wrench handles together as you turn them into the head. You will get...
English Racing (very reputable) built my longblock and they cleaned and reused my oil pump. I wanted a new one, but they said that if nothing was wrong with it and all the gears were good that it will be just fine. 4K miles on the motor now and no problems. It was a rebuild from a spun rod...
I got the new rims on the car! Got an alignment! What was cool about the alignment was that all the parts on my car are new and so I guessed on the alignment when I was installing the parts, well all of the specs were within tolerance except the camber on the front passenger side wheel. I was...
You really need to do a boost leak test. At full throttle you may/maynot notice anything wrong with the car. It is at idle that you really notice the effects of a boost leak.
2G Turbo DSM Boost Leaks -How to test and fix
Yea the GSC2 cams should be a nice upgrade someday. Thanks for checking out my build.I have an apointment on monday to get an alignment, so I will put those new rims onto the car this weekend. I will post up some pics after the alignment.
