The controller can accept a input signal from a MAP sensor, MAF sensor, or injector duty cycle. Brand new and includes wiring harness. Price is $145 shipped and PPd.
I hate that I haven't kept this updated at all. I finally finished assembling the engine last February (2016) and got it dropped into the car. After getting it wired and plumbed, I started it for the first time and it started...and then shot Royal Purple out of the side of the head. I forgot one...
Another update on the situation, it turns out that the gas tank itself is rusted to hell. Rust particles/sediment were making their way through the strainer, pump, and filter all the way to the fuel rail and clogged all of the injectors. Removed everything again today, replaced the tank and...
It ran again! I pulled off the fuel rail to visually verify that all of the injectors were firing, and to see their spray patterns, and found some sediment type stuff in the rail. And a note to anyone who is planning trying it, I would not recommend it to anyone else. I've read a few different...
No sir, I don't have any way to read codes or anything to log with.I'm planning on testing the fuel system on Friday. I've been doing some research, but I can't find any definite answer how to test pressure at the rail. Can anyone walk me through this? Is there a kit I can rent from one of...
I'll definitely keep at it. Providing the weather holds out, I'll test the fuel system on Friday. Hopefully it is something simple like the fuel filter. Here is the rest of the board. After doing a little more research, I don't think it's a blown sensor ground, but I could be wrong.
Just heard back from Steve, he doesn't think those spots on the ECU are anything to worry about. I'm running out of things to test, and I'm honestly getting tired of getting nowhere with the car. If I can't make any progress, I'll have to let it go.
I was able to test out a few more things during my days off this week. We checked the CTS, CAS, and CPS, and they all checked out. I pulled the ECU and opened it up. There are a few spots on there that concern me. I've looked at other threads that show leaking capacitors, but mine doesn't look...
You make some very good points, and I thank you for your input. However, I don't know where you read that I am running Speed Density? I stated that I switched out two different MAFs. As long as everything holds up over time, I will definitely be upgrading the car to ECM Link. And I will get in...
Okay guys, I'm starting to become even more confused. I recently finished my build and got it installed into the car. Two Fridays ago I started the car for the first time, it started right up, idled a little high but then came down to around 900 RPM. I let the car get up to temperature then took...
4/14/2015Between school, work, family, and the copious amounts of water constantly pouring from the sky, I've only found a little time to get some work done on the Talon. I finally got the block and trans pulled out, and I need to do some cleaning and touch up in the engine bay. All of my...
It could possibly be where the old valve stem seals were removed but a little rubber o-ring type piece was left behind and it's keeping the new seals from completely sealing. Just a thought.

In all honesty, not much has taken place in the last month. I've got everything pulled out from the drivers side front suspension, and in doing that I've discovered a bunch of parts that need to be replaced. But as my wife keeps pointing out, it's a 20 year old car that nothing has...
The rears are the OEM 1g/2g manifold to turbo bolts, and the fronts are Evo VIII/IX mani to turbo bolts, with two OEM turbo manifold conical washers between the bolts and the manifold. I just can't remember which way the washers are supposed to be facing, sorry.edit: I just saw where you said...
I feel you. I was just on FB at the right time and got a good deal. I'm trying my best to make time to work on them, and if this weather would stop being so crappy...Thank you! I'm hoping to have it back on the road soon. I hated seeing CADSM shut down, I was on there a few years prior to the...
Awesome! It's always good to find another DSMer in NC. I'm not too far from Charlotte, about 90 mins or so. And thanks! I'm excited to start making some progress on the car.
So I've been kicking around the idea of picking up another DSM if I found one within my price range. Well it just so happens that a guy on a local car page on Facebook posted the car up for sale a few weeks back. I messaged him and offered him an old rifle, a welder, and a little cash for the...
Hey guys, I removed the 1/8" BSPT plugs from the cylinder head before I sent it out to be cleaned. I purchased these replacement plugs from STM, http://www.streettunedmotorsports.com/parts/oem_4g63_bspt_plug.htm, but I can't seem to find any information online as to how tight these need to be...
I guess this is really a two part question, and this pertains to the OEM T-25. I do not have any of the stock turbo coolant parts, so I picked up a set of Kinugawa coolant fed/return fittings. So the first question is, can I feed the turbo as I have it labeled in this picture of a 2g water pipe...
Thank you! And thanks for the info on the exhaust. I've watched a few clips on Youtube, but it seems like everyone's phone or camera picks up the sound differently. I got a good deal on it, so I'm pretty excited. Thanks man! I'm hoping it will be pretty fun when it's finally all put together...
Welcome aboard! I'm in NC as well. I'm in Marion, about 30 minutes from Asheville or 45 from Hickory in the other direction. What kind of DSM do you have?
10/17/14It's that time again... not much progress to show either. Other than just ordering some new parts, I've managed to get the valves lapped in the new head I bought, and I got the spare tire well cover/delete panel cut to shape and riveted in. That's it so far. Here are a few more...
6/28/14Well, it's been a month and a half since my last update, and as most people here in NC would say, "I ain't got sh!t done". I truly hate it, but nothing has happened as of late. Nothing more than day dreams, and watching money go into the bank account one day, and leave the next day for...
Excellent progress man, you've come a long way from where you started with the car! Also, I've got a fender cap if you haven't already found one. PM me if you still need one.
Isn't the purpose of a Build Journal to document your progress along the way of getting to your goal? Hell, I've had my car for three years now and I'm just now getting towards the point of having it running. Anyway, keep up the good work man!
5/14/14Well.... It's been a while since my last update. Not much has changed at all. I took FOREVER getting up all of the sound deadening material from the driver and passenger floor boards, but I finally finished it. After I got all of that out, I sanded, primed, then laid down two coats of...
Exactly! The majority of all car guys, and girls, are going to have their favorite(s), but like you said if you respect one type/make/model of car, they're missing out on everything else in the automotive community. And it's a very interesting community to say the least!
I apologize for not getting back to this sooner, and thank you all for your responses! One more question, would this be the positive connection that goes to the alternator that I would hook the battery to? Sorry if I seem ignorant, I'm not very good with the electrical side of cars.
What do I hook the battery to? The reason I ask is because the starter is in a box, and has the positive battery cable attached to it. Also, do I need to ground the negative side to the chassis?
So I'm wondering if I can test the cars electrical system without having an engine or any of its sensors installed. I'm wanting to check basic functionality of some of the electrical components (windows, sun roof, lights) to see what I need to buy, because I bought the car as a bare shell and I...
2/21/14Almost all of my parts that I ordered are here! Still waiting on a couple of things, ECU and Prosport gauges to be exact. I'll get pictures once everything is here. Some parts by B&M, DXD/South Bend Clutch, JM Fab, Moog, EBC, Torque Solutions, and of course some new OEM Mitsubishi...
Over 200hp out of a n/a, stock looking 420A? I'll believe that when me shit turns purple, and smells like rainbow sherbet.
1998 built Mitsubishi Eclipse 5spd
Just waiting for it to warm up outside... Can't really get anything done when the temperature stays around 30*. Still waiting for the local Pull-A-Part to get in a 2g with some usable carpet. And the plan is to order the rest of the parts around the middle of February, I hope. Until next time...
