It sounds like you are trying to perform a hard wire installation. Do you have an electronic or hard copy of the manual? BASIC operation requires simple wiring much like that of an A'PEXi S-AFC, and it goes on from there with ignition timing control, etc. If you feel that you are biting more...
Rather than start a new thread, I was curious to see if any local/regional members had an OE main converter available for sale. My friend will be purchasing Rene's old '99 GS-T Spyder this week, and I will be helping him to get the car to pass emissions testing legally and immediately afterward...
There is always something going on here in SoCal. As a matter of fact, an enthusiast from Maryland was at this week's meet. He was in the region [Pendleton] for work as an engineer.-sent from my Galaxy Tab
If your goal is to maintain the factory exhaust, then a cut-out might be something worth considering - no compromises for an absolute win/win. The consequences can be severe if caught running around cat-less, so I cannot recommend that unless you make it appear otherwise or go HFC.
//edit// I had a great time becoming acquainted with those that I met! Here are my pictures from tonight's meet. They are all rescaled to 640 with my point-and-shoot camera."My VR-4 with more early birds""My VR-4 with Alan's MKIII Supra.""Alan's super clean MKIII Supra. It is freshly...
I frequent this AutoZone a bit more than others, and there is said DSM parked against the wall on occasion. I believe that the owner works there too. It has a front-mounted intercooler and high-rise hoop spoiler. Does it belong to anybody here? I am the Fil-Am dude :)
Sheesh you are still awake? lol I was just about to sleep since I have a final today. Just to add, one of Buschur's memorable feats in history that I personally admire is him constantly tearing lower into the 1/4 mile single digits with a freaking HKS VPC! This was back in the day of course with...
Haha! I am tryin' beyond belief bro... luckily, all of this side wrenching+tuning has been keeping me sharp with more ethanol and methanol action too :thumb:I always thought that SuperFlow was pretty stingy LOL like the MDOh yeah, have you ever heard of twin FP HTA68's? I forgot to ask and...
In addition to driving style and regional climate, I am sure that your bearing clearances are another factor to take into consideration. This is especially true for fresh builds.
Hey, did you still have this available? One of my clients at 29Palms is looking for a MAF-T for me to tune his new fuel setup on.I am also looking for a MAF-T Gen II if anyone has one available locally. Our 16G'd 3/S changed his mind, so I sold his e-Manage Ultimate.Sorry for the random...
Yo Corey! Do you still have these on hand? Just to confirm, this is the Tactrix Openport 2.0 w/ Mitsubishi reflash adapter, correct? I will be flash-tuning a '99 VR-4 in L.A. soon and was about to order one online.BTW, congratulations on the new numbers. Good luck at RL.
Auto Hobby Shop is awesome. I had my rotors turned while using their lift a few years ago.In regards to the fast blinker, I always thought it signified a bulb on its way out. That might vary between makes though; not sure.Have fun at MOD tomorrow guys! An ex-marine flew in from Kansas...
That is interesting. Sadly, I know two guys who are using that. Another buddy's unit failed on him, so I convinced him to go with an AEM AFPR that bolts-on to the fuel rail.On a serious note, IDK how some enthusiasts can trust a chinabay part for an important component such as that. I...
LOL now that is an unusual visual. $80 for a five gallon drum of sushi race fuel.:applause::thumb: Damn, I vote this as the post of the year! That is exactly what someone else said in regards to his shop too. He makes money from the Lancers who need work in the area. I am really surprised that...
^Yeahhh that one spread rather quickly ever since then. I cannot say that I am surprised though... lots of pride and "d*ck swinging" went on man. There are lots of other threads surrounding it too.
Chuck, read this: What Type Of Fluids Can I Use With My Water Methanol Injection System? I run ~49/51 homebrew with ~12.0:1 zero detonation.I am friends with the owner of that red '99 VR-4. At that time, his car made 472AWHP @4200 RPM.Anyway, his car is being fully built at FSR...
For what it is worth, I have tuned a Snow Performance stage 1 kit using an AFC. I know many individuals and cars rocking 600+ who tune stage 2 kits with piggyback controllers. You just have to do it right :cool:PS: The reason I suggest "progressive" is for low-boost/throttle, but I suppose...
Great stuff if you select an appropriate nozzle+tank size. Make sure you get one with a progressive controller though. You always have the option for re-tuning on our Cali piss pump-91 lol.
Whoops sorry! That was directed towards Kris. I was not knocking on your plan heh. You seem to be exploring your options well; build it to suit your needs but be reasonable with saving.
Thanks for the optimism :D There were TONS of RX-8's oddly but nothing worth mentioning. I discovered that one of the trailered 1G DSM's is from Ball Mitsubishi.Oh, and here is a compilation of my sweet victories hehe:
YouTube - 3000GT VR-4 drag racing at the track again
I was in tech around 615. It was ridiculous... two inspectors and four lines!Anyway, my trip to state threw me off for the night. My best was a trap of 83 w/ 2.0 60'A few noteworthy cars that I beat were: Mazdaspeed3, G35 [x2], Neon SRT4, and Mustang GT convertible. It is back to the...
Kris was on the right path. According to vfaq, it is the orange [input] and pink [output] wires that must be connected. At the ECU itself, this would be the green wire w/ blue stripe.
^That would make sense since the airflow circuit is incomplete without the unit. You can either wire the in/out back together or re-install another AFC with zero correction.
Damn, good luck Corey! I was hoping to see you this Friday at Qualcomm too =/ It will all be worth it in the end of course :thumb:BTW, what is leaking in your TB? FIAV? or just the gasket? I believe people use block-off plate(s) inside or even "weld" it shut.
People were having a tough time getting traction on Friday because of the ridiculously wet staging lanes. I molested a Mazdaspeed 3, beat an SR20-swapped 1800lb Datsun, 5.0 Mustang twice, and was ahead of an 8-sec Lancer Evolution X for the first 3/4. I am going to log some second gear pulls...
Thanks for the insight. If anything, my times were merely acceptable for a 20-year-old 3650lb car.I wish that Barona was still a 1/4 track. BTW, my second gear goes up to 80 lol and third is good for 125. I put down 272 at 12psi with the same turbos on a dynapack last summer. I should be in...
I had a good first time at the "track" It took me a couple of runs to get a hang of it, but I had a personal best of 1.9 60' // 81 MPH // 8.6 ETI won 7/10 races woohoo :) time for more tweaks and better driver mod!
Yeah, I definitely understand. You gotta stay within your powerband. That sounds like some serious fun waiting to happen. Thanks for the advice btw! I realize it is merely a parking lot, but it is all that we have =/ dammit... lol!
That IS pretty sick man. It will really flow well with your car's "theme" hehe. Are you going with high-rev springs/retainers and raising your rev limiter? I figured you were going with the bells and whistles since you are dealing with the hassle of removing the head.Hopefully I do not look...
Yepppp! Unlock that power! Is anyone going to RaceLegal tonight? I will be making my first appearance and hopefully running to get some numbers finally.
Simply said, you need to supply enough fuel for the oxygen which entails some good tuning. E95 has helped put down some serious numbers compared to the lesser E85.
