So another update guys,It seems it could be my MAF that went out. As the car was idling really poorly doing its thing, I went to unplug the MAF and the car immediately corrected itself and, although it threw a CEL and the idle was high, it was running properly again. Then as I went to plug...
Any good dsmers still hiding in DFW, I’m willing to pay for your time to help me diagnosis latest issue with my dsm. Please message me for details. Trying to get this issue sorted out asap.
I have an aero motive afpr with gauge which is how I know what fuel pressure I’m at. It has the vacuum line attached to it currently.the stock fpr was removed as I replaced all fuel lines with SS AN lines. It’s BEEN on this same setup, and ran fine all this time. Sure I was having the no...
Went to fire car up, idles fine and sounds fine on cold start, revs fine, fuel pressure at 38 the whole time. Once it gets to operating temp and the idle just suddenly drops low and starts idling really rough, fuel pressure will increase slightly to 40, but that’s about it. Fuel pressure does...
I have an aftermarket aero motive fpr when I rebuilt the fuel system running all AN ss lines feed/return and a new walbro. And AN lines on both sides of rail, but still using stock fuel filter.I know the fuel pressure reading on the fpr reads stock pressure 37-38.but that’s a good idea...
*sigh*update guys,so let’s see picking up on this thread again, my issue with the random shut off/no cel on ignition no start.after replacing the mpi relay and SWEARING that fixed the issue, it didn’t. Sure enough after a few weeks. I started getting a no cel on ignition again and thus no...
I honestly think it could have been me that did it. When I was first messing with the ecu taking it in and out(back when I thought it could have been the ecu doing it) shaking things up in there, it started to happen more frequently. But then stopped for a while. Then more recently when I was...
Yes sir! Since replacing the MPI relay car has been just fine! Cranks right up each time and cold starts are perfect now. It is such a relief to finally be able to enjoy driving the car worry free! For now..
Hey Everyone,So for a while now I've been sitting on what I thought were precious rare factory 1g gsx decals, as I wanted to save them for once the car eventually gets repainted. But after some more searching turns out they were just really really well done replicas that can still be...
I hear ya on wanting a factory 1g fuel tank man. My 1g had an in cabin shity fuel cell setup with an external pump from previous owner and I was just mind blown by the hacked up setup.Like your concerns, I wanted this car for a comfort cruiser/mild street build, so I didn't want any kind of...
Reset ecu, plugged in a new mpi 20a fuse at positive batt terminal, and plugged in a working mpi relay from my cousins 1gb gsx, and cel came back on ignition, car cranked right up and hasn’t died yet.Been testing it for some time now and all seems well. I’ll keep testing though. Thank you...
Marty! But the ecu just recently came back from ecmlink with new caps and they said it tested out fine? And now that I started messing with the mpi relay I get no cel. Wouldn’t that be a bad mpi relay? My ecu shouldn’t be bad? I was assuming the click that can be heard in the video was the mpi...
That’s bad right? Like I mentioned I just removed duct tape off of it (from previous owner I’m assuming) and it came apart pretty much. Since then now I get no CEL with ignition on, which I know for sure won’t let me turn the car on.
Alright update guys, as I went to take a closer look at the mpi relay, it had duct tape all around it, so I figured that was a red flag. As I began to unravel it, the mpi relay just came apart from the gold box?? That can’t be good? Now when I turn the ignition on, I get no CEL and boost...
Ah I had regapped my plugs with the coin yeah. Coin said they were 34-35 so I brought them down to 28, again on the coin. How do I reset the ecu? If you mean unplugging the battery for a while I also did that yesterday left it unplugged for a few hours.
And for mpi relay I am going to try the...
That’s what I was thinking it might be after reading a few other threads on here. I have a cousin with a 93 gsx, would it be easier pulling his mpi relay off his and testing it on mine? Or is there a difference in year for mpi relay from the bastard 90s and the 91-94?
Guys, I am so lost and frustrated at the issue I’ve been having with the car for a good while now.90 gsx 5 speed non eprom ecu. It will just completely die on a cold start when it seems to be chilly/cold outside.I’m not talking sputter and die I mean it straight cuts off like if I turned the...
Holy CRAP those look great! And wow those packages on Rock Auto make it way easier! Which one did you get? Oh man they even come powder coated red! Thank you for this!!
Oh wow thank you for that picture for reference from the single pistion and duel piston! Nice! What do you guys recommend for easiest SS lines that would bolt right up to swap out the factory rubber lines?
Thank you for confirming! I know it was probably a stupid question but there were so many threads were people kept talking about how critical it was to make sure to get the mounting brackets for them, and so I started overthinking it.
Yes...yes, there are several threads out there covering this already for upgrading the single piston 90-91 front awd calipers to the 93-94 awd dual pistion calipers, and I have read them all. But I can't seem to find the answer for my question still. The vfaq regarding this and big brake faq...
Thank you so much, this is the confirmation I was looking for with your pictures. As well as a thank you to everyone else who chimed in. I am now certain that the connectors I just ordered are indeed the correct ones.Soon as they come in I'll have to begin splicing them back into place, yay.
So the connection in my car currently is the original connection for the car? I assumed it was this one in these pictures. As these seem to match the connections on the back of the radio
Hey guys,So my car originally didn’t come with a radio at all since picking it up a little over a year ago. I’ve finally got it running pretty decent after doing some heavy maintenance on her. So I figured I’d spoil myself a bit and try to get some tunes going back in the car.I scored a...
I mean I switched everything around, the harnesses from driver and passenger tail lamps. switched the bulbs all around, and all good working bulbs would work just fine in the socket of the original bad bulb. Each socket I stuck the bad bulb in it would start acting up immediately. So I'm...
...sigh, it was one single damn tail light bulb. Causing ALL of this. Yes yes, you all told me to check that first for basic troubleshooting. So did COUNTLESS other threads on here.I guess with this happening right after an engine bay wash, it had me convinced it was something going on under...
I get what you're saying but, do you have any recommendations as far as what to check to fix why the tail lamp keeps getting blown? Especially to someone who doesn't know anything about electrical work.I am coming across countless threads that seem to give advice but they talk about...
Alright guys well I'm still having the same issue with the tail lamp fuse blowing no matter how many times I replace the fuse, and knocking out my instrument lights/front corner lights/rear running tail lights. One thing I have started to notice is that, even with no running lights on in the...
So quick update on this, after about a week since the engine bay wash, I replaced the tail light fuse yet again under the hood, and it has since not blown and working fine again. I honestly wonder if the fuse box had just gotten a bit wet and needed to dry out, and that is what was causing the...
Not sure about the size, but here is a link where you can purchase them directly. They are domed too which is a plus. However they come as part of a package with the rear decal.https://www.hoosierdecal.com/product/90-94-eclipse-gsx-awd-domed-decals-and-side-pillars-stickers/
Speaking of fogs, do you know what size hardware for the long thin bolts that mount the fog lamp to the bracket itself? I'm trying to separate mine and they are just stripped the hell out, and they almost look glued in there. I have a pair of mint fog lamps that I'm trying to mount to some...
I'm also in the process of doing this with my 1990 gsx. What's been helping me has been the dsm classifieds groups on Facebook. I've gotten all my rare/hard to find/any parts from there usually. Or sometimes I'll get lucky and a 1g will pop up at a junkyard near me but that is few and far...
