Well my bad. Seeing that it was a 98 I assued that his ecu was flashed. Still had stock ecu in my car with id2000 running speed density and big turbo running 42psi on a 6266. I forget that not everyoe is adept at tuning. Especially with open-source
I was pushing 42psi on 6266 and my IAT was 110degree with a 85 degree ambient in AZ I was also running race gas with an aggresive timing map. Never got a dyno but during some street racing I saw 170mph in top of 4th gear. After the run i took temp gun readings of the front mount and was over...
youre not pushing the turbo hard enough. or at least youre below its efficency range. it gets more efficent at moving air with more boost and rpm which you lack. that turbine and compressor setup is for a car that is gonna be in the 7.5-8k range and over 25psi. then you should see some close...
for something fun a turbine housing that is .60-.70 ar would be great for that turbo. the BEP .70a/r seems laggy given its a/r size. my 12cm spooled faster, even my 18cmspooled just as quick as a BEP .70a/r.its all in the setup theres alot of little small things that add up. but the...
whatever turbo setup you choose. choose wisely. me skillful and precise and port match(i normally port with a small lip after the gasket(discharge side of gasket.) create a step. go as large as you can or even match the gaskets inlet side(head to gasket) and the inlet size perfectly but...
It was undevided t3 manifold with a stock divided holset with lots of contouring and port work. i made sure it was knifed perfectly and the taper was almost perfect into the volute. it was a 2.0 with 2g head. gasket matched intake and exhaust but otherwise stock head with stock cams. it was a...
What cams are you running as i said before that has a great affect on how you spool a turbo. the bigger cams you have the slower you spool but the more you have up top. the smaller cams the faster you spool and loose top end. thing rally car turbo response(small cams) vs dragster(big cams)...
if wou wanna rev a bit higher and make more power contact Web Cam to make you a rally cam short duration high lift. if you run big cams you loose spool. get hx35 with small housing or pte 5858 with small turbine and youll spool so quick you'll shit yourself both have enough balls to get you 600whp.
get a 6262 or 5858 with a .63ar turbine housing make sure yourexhaust manifold is a small one. and bty i had a holset hx35 with a 12cm holset turbine that was getting 30 psi by 2800rpm. on a 6bolt bottom head with 2gcylinder head on stock cams. what are you going for. run smaller cams to...
there are two shafts that are timed together, one spins from using a belt from the crank and the other is timed to the oil pump gear and is driven by that oil pump gear. if you run without the belt the motor will shake itself apart, and it wil screw up shit inside the oil pump. both shafts...
have yo done any elimination of your heater hosed check your routing of your coolant lines make sure you are not running a line from your hot side to your cold side before your radiator, that would cause you to over heat. don loop any lines cap hem off
How about gusseting all the intersecting joints would that not reduce twisting and increase regidity?can you show a picture from front to rear of subframe with a centerline at the bottom or middle of the subframe???
The Ford pinto design steering rack is popular in the V8 custom sommunity for its size and its different length options, it can also be had with a hydraulic assisted steering option as well. would you also be able develop a tubular front core support with a front subframe connector that works...
then if you think its from the VC it takes 5 min to pull the VC and check. sound travels and any bottom end sound can sound as if it is coming from the head... get a stethoscope if it will help you put it on the four corners or the motor two top and two bottom if you can ant try to isolate the...
i know but most stock dsms have loads of miles sill running the stock cat any chance i can give him to reduce wear and help diagnose his problem is a plus for me.
easy test to check to see if it is the bearings is do a cylinder cancel test pull the injector clips or the spark plugs one at a time better to do it with cutting fuel and not just spark to minimize the risk of damaging your cat
balance shaft belt is broken. it the engine really rough at idle and through the rpm range. plus you might wanna do something adout that 70psi compression test. do a leak down test directs you to why you have 70 psi in comp test
Well if i wasn't fwd I'd probably be in the 10s, lol i really dont know where i would be but im running steady af ratios of 11.3-1 at WOT and i run her up to 9000rpm on 34psi from a pte 6266 on pump gas no knock, say what for tuning. Self tuned.
the tramsmission isnt moving and if the countershafts in the trans were moving just push the clutch to the floor to engague the trans brake and that should stop the input shaft from sminning then put it in highest gear, only thing with big diesels is that you may break the transmission or...
well that happened to me once throttle cable got stuck at WOT so i stuck it in 5th gear and stepped on the brakes stalling the motor, you could have saved her if you thought of that at that moment, im sorry for your loss though. but damn a stroker motor revving to 9k thats gotta be something to...
I have the same issue but i beleive its due to vibration, which can trigger the knock sensor, I'm thinking of getting a new harmonic balancer or a fluidampr, which would cancel out the engine vibrations and hopefully stop the phantom knocl hopefully.
Seperate the wiring for the reverse lights from the other harness and wire them to your cars reverse switch from your transmissio.you could wire in a fuse and circuit breaker if youre worried about pretecting that circuit this should take anywhere from 30 min to 1 hour to do a clean install
The Evo FQ400 though it has not been released in the US has the highest specific output of any production engine per liter at 405hp thats 202.5hp per liter noone has been able to do that from factory
good point at higher boost a finer plug gap will help, maybe colder plugs might help but so would the proper supporting mods and i know and feel ## pain i was in your shoes bigger turbo and no supporting mods and no cash
damn dude its not that bad, i used an afc for a while with my denso 720cc and after a bit of tweaking no fuel cut but i was running pig rich at wot though and no fuel cut unless i was over 25psi on my e316g
act 2600 with 6puk disk that thing broke countless transmissions, well i cant really blame the clutch ### i was the one racing...lol...1 clutch setup 3 transmissions...lol...to think i would have learned my lesson
nice i would love to try out a southbend clutch next2600 is a good choice though. a bit expensive compared to the southbendwow the powerholding capabilities of the southbend clutches are insane, well from what iv been reading
well if u have a 98 or 99 dsm then u can flash the ecu its a bit cheaper but you would have to do the tuning yourself or get someone to tune it for you, tuning yourself isnt too hard though. im using ceddy mods and its really good.
OK sounds good, a .70 AR housing is decent but more around the middle for torque. turbo motors produce the most torque during turbo spool up the quicker it spools the more torque you will produce, but you should be ok. as for the clutch get something that can handle a lot of abuse. i would...
morer torque can be acheived many ways, 1: by choosing a good combination of parts; cams, turbo(turbine wheel size), and downpipe( too big no torque: too small no top end power). 2:correct tuning(ecu) and cam degree will also affect torque and top end power. 3:since you are FWD wou dont really...
