Power transistor took a dump. If the rpms are reading half what they should ie: spinning 4k rpm but only showing 2k, def means change the transistor.I actually watched the video, tach seems to be reading properly. If you have spark on all 4 wires, its a compression, fueling, or spark plug...
A bad o2 will not cause a dsm to not boost. When you apply 100% throttle, the ecu goes into open loop, disregards the o2, and runs a predetermined fuel and timing map. It monitors the knock sensor to pull timing when needed. The only time a car looks at the o2 is during closed loop operation...
Not enough airflow. Try to seal the fmic to the front of the radiator as best you can. If the car still has a/c thats another restriction in front of the radiator. Air will always take the path of least resistance. It seems that you have the cooling system in good shape. The water pump might be...
This happened to me. Get a telescopic magnet. Drain the oil and leave the plug out. Remove the turbo drain line. Extend the magnet and stick it in the drain hole and move it back and forth across the inside if the pan. Extract the keeper and reinstall the drain and plug. Its not rocket science...
The pcv goes to the bottom nipple in that pic. The nipple for the bov is next to the intake manifold support bar on the left of it. Looks like he just looped the hose from the pcv nipple to the bov nipple.
Screwdriver through the outer metal part of seal and pry it out. Works every time. Do not put the screwdriver between the seal and casing. Only the seal itself.
Sell them and get a set of scat rods. They are almost perfect out of the box and my machinest didn't have to take much at all off the rods to get them balanced. Scat q.c. is leaps and bounds above eagle.
Autozone carries the lsu 4.2 sensor for $52. Vehicle lookup is a 98 Volkswagen Jetta turbo. Not sure of the engine size. Just thought this would be helpful info for anyone looking. I'll post the part number when I get it.Part# 17018 $52-$61 depending on location. This is plug and play for the...
Dropping 2 cylinders indicates a coil or transistor going bad. If you can swap coils or transistors with a known good set and the problem goes away, you've found the culprit.
Pull the valve cover and rotate the cams. Check for any loose cam followers. If any are loose you can be assured of some bent valves. If everything looks good, replace the timing belt and check compression. If the Compression is good, fire it up. I've broken two timing belts and came out lucky...
Have them bore match the pistons. That way the ptw is correct for all 4 pistons. They are already boring the block so there shouldn't be any extra expense.
:confused::ohdamn:
afr=air to fuel
10.0-1= 10 parts air to 1 part fuel
14.7-1= 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel
higher the number the leaner the mix:heystupid:
I tuned mine to 15.5 cruise, 13.0 0-5psi, 12.5 5-10psi and 11.5-11.0 10psi+
Log your load, map, knock, rpm, o2, and timing. Get the afr's in line then tackle timing. Increase timing till you get knock and then back it off a degree or two until it goes away. Look at your load row and rpm to...
I'm not familiar with Georges St. Pierre quotes. My time in my profile is what i thought you were referring too. More boost and ill break into the 6's in the ⅛ mile.
1983 was the year on my rx7. Gsp was the model.The performance of my car isn't in question. But I appreciate you judging it...coming from someone who drives an n.a. Eclipse and jury rigging an important brake part means your opinion holds merit. But keep an eye on that time. It will slowly get...
When a girl cries over a guy, she loves him.
When a guy cries over a girl, he'll never love another woman the same.It gets easier with time. You'll see.
Find another one and start over...I wouldn't trust mine or my families life with that part being an integral piece of the braking system. Its your call though.
Go get a rollerskate and place the wheel against the timing belt between the camgears and push down while the engine is running. If the noise goes away its the tensioner.
You have to pull the cams, springs, and retainers to change valve stem seals. The most accepted way is to remove the valve train one cylinder at a time while shooting compressed air into the cylinder to keep the valves from falling down while you remove the retainers and springs.Option 2 is...
I've suffered from migraines since I was 5yo. My pediatrician prescribed me tylenol 3w/ codeine at that time. I'm 34 now, so almost 30 years of this shit. My #1 trigger is dehydration. #2 is not eating, and #3 is not wearing my glasses. Stay hydrated. Alcohol is a diuretic and causes your body...
