im thinking its the tcu. as soon as it started shifting like this the check engine light did come on ive gotta get that checked out. will it throw a code if its in limp mode?yes sir i actually drove the car to my parents which is about 5 miles away and i checked it the fluid was good

Hey guys!! Ive been having problems with my 98 eclipse gst automatic. For some reason the car won't shift into reverse. If i put the car in Drive it'll move until I hit around 20 mph then it feels like its in neutral? I dunno what it could be i checked the transmission fluid and it seems fine...

I just recently went from a t25 to evo 16g and i can def tell a big differnce i still need to upgrade my injectors with the evo560cc and fuel pump a walbro 190 because im getting like aback fire at high rpms

I have a pretty bad exhaust leak where the turbo and manifold meet. Would that cause a boosting problem? i know im not getting the full effect of the 16g. Now i have to find a place heree in Md to tune the car :confused:

im gonna replace the fuel filter and plugs and wires today and see if that works. the car pulls like a champ but as soon as that guage tops out it sputters. i dont even think i gapped the plugs when i put the motor in :nono:

it only does it when im in high rpms i know i didnt change my plug wires when i put the motor im so maybe ill try that out. i have a lil exhaust leak to that would be a problem would it?i was told i have to get it tuned? im just taking one step at a time i dont want to up the boost yet

it more like a stutter so it maybe fuel cut? how do i prevent that? as soon as the guage tops out it does it everytime

sorry for bring back a old post but i just wanna say thank you to the guys that replied to this thread i just got the motor in and it runs great i went the advice yall gave me and just swapped the cams out and everything ending up good i love this site :hellyeah:

i figured out the problem!!! the j pipe wasnt tight i had a boost leak thanks guys

i love mine ive had it for 4 years and only had to do general maintinence sucks as soon as i got it paid off the motor locked up. but its def a sweet ass car to be a 98 ill keep it for awhile

Me and my dad just put a engine in my 98 eclipse gst its got a new timing belt,balance shaft belt, all the accesory belts are new also i noticed that one of the belts squeel when ou 1st start the car i tightend it up and it went away i drove the car today and when it hits like a certain amount...

Ill check out the idle in the morning thanks man i def wanna keep the idiot light its brand new i just got it. this car is a headache when i tap the gas the oil guage raises up i know i have oil pressure
