Ive had studs for abouta year now. I personally think they work really good. My actually came off a hyundia elantra, they also came with cap nuts. The studs do change the pitch from the head to the nut that you have to use. I can post pics if needed
Ive been thinking about the idea of like 3in side exit on a gst, that also routes into a stock exshust. That idea would be awesome it you could make it.
Bottom picture does look like a O2 plug. The top one looks like one of the plugs for the throttle body, coolant sensor, or a speed sensor. The AC stuff is on the other side.
I threaded in two -10 AN fittings into my valve cover. I did not use any JBweld or Loctite, and they are fine. Two things though the drill bit and tap for 1/2 NPT is about 50$ total. And the second is that you have to take the baffles out, and the run the tap all the way through the top...
The running up to 5000rpm and then studdering sounds like a boost leak to me. I would also make sure your IAC is good, and maybe check to make sure your idle stop is correctly set on your throttle body.
EVO3 intake manifold with a 63 mm 1g throttle body with a 16g is awesome street power. I would guess with a 264/264 combo it would be even better. I love my EVO3 intake manifold it was a great upgrade.
I plugged mine back in when I deleted the FIAV, and then looped the coolant lines. The only other thing is that you could possablly have a vaccum leak causing the high idle.
Clean your filter, and maf. Alot of times the K&N filter oil will get sucked up into the maf and gunk it up alittle. I noticed a little better mileage after this was done.
I personally would check the Turbo oil feed and Oil return, seem to be one of the most common leaks, that and with the previous owner swapping turbos in it gives it a good reason to leak possiablly. They are both simple fix, most of the time some sealant or teflon tape, and you are good to go...
Yea, the guy I bought my manifold from used that bracket. He is in this topic, he will proablly chime in, I forget his name! I can show you my bracket in the next couple days if you not in a hurry, It mounts them on the fire wall.
On my 99GST there is one off the block, and then the one that connects to the oil cooler, down by the housing if thats what you were looking for. I would think the cooler would be the feed side, and the block the outlet.
Are the spline of the input shaft going into the clutch spline. If thats were your hitting a wall, try and rotate the input shaft alittle then try it again.
Actually if you would like to do it a way that would last awhile, check the Vender suchs a Street tuned, and Extreme PSI. They make a kit that goes from the sending unit, all the way to the filter, and they make a return line kit. That will be about your best bet.
GSXTACY, what you need to do is figure out what size the threads are in your Catchcan, im guessing 3/8, then just get a 3/8 to either 6,8,10 an fitting(Your Choice). Then you will need to either drill and tap fittings into your valve cover like I did, or have someone weld them on like others...
The wheels in the picture above look to be stock GST wheels, what do you mean by not fitting well. I was thinking about getting some QTPs on GST wheels for my GST.
I've got -10 An fittings tapped into mine, forget welding that. I just got a tap, and a drill bit, and went to town then put some thread sealant on them, and had them powder coat them.BeforeAfter
Don't know what you have in Canada, im lucky enough to have a place near by that stocks alot of Aeroquip fittings. Okay I have the book with Aeroquip in it, does not show a -4an to 3/8. You will need a bushing no big deal. So here are the Aeroquip part numbers for what you need, might try...
Looking at those fittings you should have one end that is standard thread like a 7/16 flared end, and then you should have a AN end. So check the other end and see what is measures is it smaller, or bigger.
Like i said all those sensors are in the same loom over the injectors check it out. If the harness is that bad with alot of hacking up, then might have to bit the bullet, and buy a new harness.
I would check your wiring harness. If i remeber right all those wires are in the same loom, that runs on top of the injectors. Did you change anything in the last week, or did the CEL just come on.
Why not get a keydiver chip, and not have to, or do very little tuning. If you don't want to mess with a tune, and want to have some security that it will run good, get a chip!
That will be a pain to put on you EVO intercooler. Its made for side inlets and outlets, but remeber your Evo intercooler outlets and inlets, are in the middle of the intercooler, and downward facing. You will need to do alot of hacking, and welding to get it to fit. Why do you try Dejon...
Just take the cap off and Start the car, take a funnel make sure its tight in the coolant neck, and keep the level in the funnel higher that the coolant neck, and watch the bubbles come out. Air gets in there if your coolant bottle has no coolant in it, when coolant is sucked up and there is...
When I had a stock motor, and fuel system with a 16g, logger, and works. My GST lacked on the big end too. The power came strong, like enough to torque steer you into the curb, but 5000+ it just didn't keep the power going. Think some of it had to do more on the intake side of the motor, so I...
EvoIII will bolt up, but im pretty sure wont be advantage for a 1g guy. The ports are 2g head ports, so they would be smaller. Try a SMIM, or keep the 1g if you've got a 6bolt.
Usually you can get them from like a farm and tractor store, or welding store. Should cost you around 100$ to get a setup, but you'll love it for the rest of your life, I barely use mine right now, but if I have to I can. Last time I torched the heads off the bolts that hold the flywheel on.
We always use Stargon, which works good for about everything. Its expensive, but burns very clean. Welding is not for just the average man in general, I can't say im the greatest, but I know I can atlest hold my own if I need to weld something. I would love to learn to Tig weld, that were its...
If you are using Map gas out of one of the little bottle, sorry to say it thats not enough. I tried using map gas out of those little yellow bottles tons of times, and it never seems to be enough. You need to get a Oxy-Acetylene torch, And heat it up till its red, then try it. Those little...
When I bought a clutch or two from the autoparts store, for my 1g, they always sent polit bushing with it. I always amazed with it because are cars dont use them.
You got it right, if you look at the picture on Dejon, the writing faces you. I don't think it would work the other way. You would have to flip it over, and your bends would not fit, should only be on way it goes one.
