I would take it back to the.... I found out a year later and used a $100 head gasket. They said they couldn't do anything because it had been so long.Good for you 97!!!
I'm pretty sure you can just slap some new ones in. Just like you can't swap rod caps around without getting the honed. you should talk to your local shop(s) and see if they can even do it and if they can how much it would be, then look around to see if you can find a head for cheaper.
I call BS on that why would they make after marker radiators then. My GF had a overheating problem and the only thing that fixed it was switching to a full aluminum rad. and she doesn't really have to turn the fan on any more either.
good thing it wasn't an awd because then you would have had to removet-case too!! And id I remember right you have to loose the driverside axle from the block but I could be thinking of something else on that.
Check the plugs and if the wires are in the right position. What were you doing when this happened?I think you could even have your tune way off. do you have a wideband O2?
they probably did but you should make sure the lubed the cams where the caps are, and the torque spec is like 17 I believe search "cam caps torque" and it will be the right number.
Because I'm asking for the 1.8 not the 2.0 and everyone has to come in and chime in, and then the damn answer I wanted gets forgoten and everyone starts blurting off other $%^# that doesn't pertain to what I asked
